  • upgradable (?) for use with other network?

    • Optus and Telstra both use 700mhz as one the sought after 4G bands ….. so once unlocked it's a handy device.

  • argghhh… just got it for $29 at target a couple of days ago

    works great with amaysim though

  • 2GB of data included.

Unlockable, just buy a code off ebay for a couple of bucks

    • I have unlocked these myself using the method outlined here (be warned, the method is not exactly easy and is difficult):

To get this method to work for me, I had to download the drivers for the MF90 from the ZTE website.

      • Can you provide the link to the driver file please? I am unable to locate any MF90 drivers from zte.com.au.

        • Bear in mind I did this months ago and don't really recall exactly what I did. I was incorrect in saying the drivers are located on the ZTE website.

I used the instructions from the official DC-Unlocker website as a rough guideline as to what I should be doing to get my device to be recognized. Included there are the drivers you will need to complete the process. This can be found here:

          Best of luck

        • @Seepy:

That works - got my MF90 unlocked. Thanks!

  • I thought it was pretty good because we're going on a road trip just after christmas

    • I want the one you could plug in to a USB port for the car so it's "always" on.

You can use a short Usb cable and plug this one in.

        • Previous posts suggest doing it this way firstly kills the battery, and secondly may not turn it on automatically when the ignition powers up the USB ports. I understand Telstra's USB + Wi-Fi 4G stick does that.

  • Bought one of these and though it works I ended up going back to my MF91. MF91 may have a slower top speed but it's not something you typically run into, and the lack of LCD on these MF90 means you have to go to the web interface to work out what the damn thing is doing. The summary lights tell you by colour if you've got a 3G or 4G signal or no signal but it's not as good as seeing bars and no service right there on the device like you do on any phone.

  • Got one for $29 from Officeworks few weeks back, works just fine with Telstra postpaid..

Theres a pocket wifi 4g telstra (not USB) for $29 at coles at the moment. Comes pre-loaded with 3gb.

  • From memory these don't cover all the Telstra 4G frequencies
    (I think)

  • Just wondering when the data is used up can I top up data on this pocket wifi.

    • yes, reload the sim, that is why they sell them cheap, or buy a reloaded sim when on special. They are great if you have limited data on your phone plan as most phone plans are $10 per GB, with just sims it's about $3 depending on special at the time, and if you exceed your useage, no bill shock it just stops.

As far as I know, this doesn't have 700mhz.

  • Should have thought of adding 700 Mhz before I as consumer bought it, imho.
