    Capital offence…

capital attack with immense visual atomic bomb. That's optometric rape right there.

  • Thanks

  • No good Ps4 deal still. Guess I'll wait till EOFY.

    • +37

Or spend the extra $50 or whatever you'll save and enjoy the damn thing for 6 months!

      • well crap I somehow thought eofy was January.

        • +10

Don't feel bad. Most people on the internet don't know what the abbreviations that they write really mean.

        • +1

@Scaregdearimasu: EOFY is an extremely busy time of year for accountants and admin staff.. who wants to deal with that at Xmas/January when many are taking summer holidays ?

        • +2

@Scaregdearimasu: have you ever lodged tax return?

        • @serpserpserp: OMFG, u r right…!!

        • +4

EOFY: it is NOT "End OF Year" … the meaning is "End of Financial Year" (or "End of Fiscal Year"). In Australia this is the 30/06 (when you do your tax return).
In a lot of other countries the EOFY is the 31/12 or even on other dates (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiscal_year) . So the EOFY will depend on the country you are in …

EOF: "End of Year" … this is the end of the calendar year … always the 31/12

        • @mini_wombat: You mean EOF = End of Year? Otherwise the 'F' doesn't stand for anything.

        • @clx: Oops … EOY … :-) sorry

I thought there have been some many deals on PS4 and XB1 in the past month.

      • +1

There have I was hoping they'd make a decent bundle for boxing day but I guess they didn't/won't.
Seems more their only interested in making bundles on two situations.
        1. Need to get rid of crap stock/nonAAAgames (500g consoles no one wants and that motorcycle game).
        2. Bundle the console with a New release and a lesser title/s.

        • My friend is also looking to get a PS4, trying to find good bundle for him but no luck so far… but the Xbox bundle from JB is better than the PS4 bundle…

If you're only after a console and you have amex then go to this page : https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/227063

      • Hmm looking at all the pictures I took all the bundles they had all expired today too. Had I had known there'd be nothing I might have gotten one.

      • The 1 TB for 400 with a couple of (crappy) games

  • +1

    LOL fitbit HR $174

    • for those who missed the earlier $120 price points…

      • Missed? DJ's and DSE are leading catalogs with it this week. (HR version)

  • +3

Aargh..this is guna be fun with a 2k budget. The 65" sony which is fhd.. Or the 60" series 7 suhd sammy they have.. C'mon harvey and Tgg.

    • Go the Sammy!

      • +1

Strangely enough.. Im leaning towards the sammy..lol. Lots of thank you for your helpful and insightful post.

        • +1

Hahha, all g man. I bought the 200Hz Sammy 55" 4K earlier this year - it's damn awesome, and I got a sweet price, but that's such a good deal for a 60 SUHD. I prefer Android OS to Tizen, but the Sammy panel is phenomenal.

        • Appreciate the info there buddy, unless theres a super duper deal from Tgg tomorrow morning. Will be driving home with one later today. All reviews have been super mega positive.. On a different note, id prefer tizen over the android tv, general feel i get is that android may lag a bit etc etc.. Either way, moot point for me.

    JB, you've done it again.

  • +2

the samsung tv was selling around 1 month back at $1836 + 3% cashrewards https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/222135

    • +2

Lol.. Damn. Wheres my time machine.. Waiting to see what Tgg and harvey knock out deals are.

  • +1

TGG has the Samsung TV for the same price on ebay so you can use cashrewards to get $50 off

  • the good guys have a price guarantee where they pay 120% of a lower advertised rate at a competitor. So will they beat the price on jbhifi?

  • Does anyone know if it's possible to put Kodi on the android TVs ?

    • +2

I would say yes given you can download the app from the play store. Can't 100% confirm though sorry.

  • +1
    • Yes..good spot there. Must've missed it flipping the pages earlier.. Decisions decisions

      • +2

I would go for Sony 75” one, I matched the spec, apart from UHD in LG, Sony is better option in my opinion.

Sony 75” is powered by Android vs Web OS in LG. So more APP support in SONY

        Sony has Chromecast built in

        Sony TV is also 3D

Sony has 16GB memory built in, not sure about LG

        • Kewl.. Thanks for your feedback there. Gota convince the missus..lol. Considering the 65 is a fair bit cheaper.. Etc etc. Size is everything.

        • @trippyfoo: same here, misus as usual started giving me faces, when I asked her about upgrading the Current LG 47“ Smart 3D TV.

Anyway, Same Sony TV is also available in 65” size for $1898. Here is the link -

          https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/hd-televisio…

  • Can anyone select a store for click and collect? I can't seem to find the button to select a store.

  • Is that 75" TV any good? So huuuuuggggeeeee.

    • Yeah that's my thought too.. Happy with 1080p and it's spec but not sure how 1080p would look on such a big display

    • Does anyone have one? who can provide feedback?

      • +1

I've got a 70" 3d Sony 1080p, it's about two years old, I mainly use it for gaming and movies as its in the 'entertainment room' The good thing about Sony's for gaming is they have low input lag, which is important, particularly for online fps.

They are an awesome TV I think you'll be happy with it, obviously resolution is the only draw back with 4k content becoming (slightly) more common with Netflix. To be honest 1080p blu rays still look incredible at 1080p on a 70" so I can't see a 75" being too different.

        • The 75" W850C has much poorer input lag than the 70" W850B

    • Also interested in feedback

TGG has this same tv for $2895. Maybe they would reduce if further with their 120% price guarantee since its $2596 with jb.

      • OzB-ers, please help to solve this.

If we don't get TGG to price match when we purchase, do we actually get more more back if we get them to do the price guarantee 120% of the lowest price difference?

        i.e. scenarios:

        Price Matching = $2596
        TGG price $2895 , JB $2596

        Price Guarantee = $2237.20
TGG price $2895 = Purchase price $2895 (price guarantee with JB), 120% of $299

Can someone verify if this is correct? :D :D

        • exactly how it works :) only from approved retailers listed in the T&C which includes all the big retailers like DJ, JBHifi, Officeworks…

  • +1

Has anyone seen the picture on the Soniq 65 inch LED-LCD FHD smart TV for $999? Pretty good price.

    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/hd-televisio…

    • Good spotting. I was hoping for a 60" for about $660 though!

Not sure a 65" will suit our TV unit/lounge

  • Is it stupid to commit to buying the Samsung UA60JS7200W 60" tonight from TGG website for $2033 delivered -$50 Bonus https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/227136 ? Should I wait and see if other stores advertise for this model on boxing day too?

    • +1

And is this a better TV than the Sony KD65X8500C?

      • Thats a nice find..and from prev ozbargain posts, and if memory serves correctly..that sony is pretty damn good.just checked and videopro is all the way up in qld. Looking to drive home with a tv on boxing day..

        • +1

$2499 at Harvey Norman for boxing day. It was this price about a month ago too

  • +1

    http://www.rtings.com/

Super handy for seeing how the Samsung, Sony and LG's compare.

  • The 55" is $1348 -
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/hd-televisio…

TGG will have it for $1488 with 120% price back guarantee.

    http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/boxing-day-sale

So what stops us from getting extra 20% from TGG?

    • It's 120% of the difference, so you won't get an extra 20% off the $1348, you will get 120% of $140. Still better than nothing.

  • Ah right. Pretty lame then. $28
    But yeh better than nuffin.

    • +1

its not $28, ie 20% of $140. you will get 120% of $140 = $168 off at Good Guys

      • Yep that's what I meant $28 more than the difference. ie $140+$28=$168
Probably not worth the hassle for $28

  • Nikon cameras seem pretty decent at the moment.

You get 15% off camera body + Nikon cashback + $150 JB gift card.

It's too bad I'm stuck in Canon's eco-system with their lenses. Otherwise I'd pickup the D610.

  • Just ordered one of those 75 inch babies! Thanks for all the comments. I wasn't actually really looking for a TV but it looks like this one has done good reviews. I'll let you guys know if it's crap. I'm upgrading from a 40 inch Bauhn that is around 6 years old now! This buy should get me into the next decade.

  • I got a 10% off coupon from the refused $1 games earlier. Let me know if you want it, I got two and will only use one. Try and make it for a big purchase so you can make JB hurt for getting my hopes up for those cheap games.

    • Would not mind the code if nobody has it already

      • Hey I sent the code to you because you were the first to ask. I didn't realise what doofus mentioned that it was only for gaming purchases. I was going to use it for a hard drive so I might end up passing on the other one if it doesn't work. Maybe you could pass on yours too if it turns out that it doesn't work.

    • Hi may I have your 10% coupon if u still have it? Thanks heaps!

    • Hi @Talonparty, I got burnt by the $1 games too but no coupon was offered :( Could I have it? I'll make sure it's used as you've described :)
      Merry Christmas and Thanks!!

    • I have 2 of the 10% coupons you have mentioned. I'm pretty sure it said it was for "gaming software" only.

      • Hey @doofus, if you have a spare could you PM me one? I'm really close to buying some stuff and will gladly try out and see if they work.
        Thanks heaps!

      • snap you are right, i'll still pass one on hopefully it'll be of some use

  • Almost got suckered into buying a hisense 65inch curved TV (show model) for 1900 today. Think I'll stick another 300 on and get a shiny new LG. Wait to see what happens on boxing day too! Would love a 75inch,but I've heard sonys don't play many file types from USB.

  • Lenovo Yoga 300 11.6" is $549 at Officeworks. No deal.

  • +3

Good to see Santa didn't lie to me ;).

    Merry Christmas!

    • I haven't seen the Hisense but the Sony's 75" 850C which is the 4K version of the 8500 is bloody amazing.

      • 850C is not 4K. its only FHD.
The above two TVs are hisense-> UHD and Sony->FHD and $403 difference.

        • +1

Sorry I meant the other way round! :D

8500C is bloody amazing, which is the 4k version of the 850C but it's almost twice the price

  • Boring JB, your discounts are predictable

  • I have to add that the Sphero deals are incredible!

    • +1

      no love for BB-8 :(

  • I'm glad JB is so predictable because I have a $100 and a $20 gift voucher from coke rewards

Going to grab the hobbit extended trilogy and 30th aniversery back to the future anniversary trilogy for $99.18 all up

  • Got to JB Hi-Fi right on opening time and had to wait for the masses of people already standing out the front to get in it was crazy. I grabbed Star Trek The Next Generation Seasons 6 & 7 blu-ray, Star Trek The Next Generation Chain of Command blu-ray and Homeland Seasons 3 & 4 blu-ray all for $131.90. That completes my entire Star Trek blu-ray collection every episode and every movie ever released on blu-ray so far.

  • There's also 30% all car sound until the 31st!

  • What are the odds I could convince a manager to let me lay-by a $600 receiver marked down from $1000 if I offer 50% deposit and go back on the 6th and pay it off? I'm fuming that my work screwed up my payslip the day before Christmas.

    • Not much odds. I don't think JB Hi-Fi even does layby.

      • Suppose who you deal with. I was able to lay-by a TV for a week. I'll go in-store and try my luck anyway…

  • Hey Guys,

Anyone familiar with JB's price match policy? I bought a fridge from their website today and then a few hours later realised it's appox. $100 cheaper from appliancesonline.com.au

If it was a small difference I wouldn't care as much…

They have no number to call, so I can send an enquiry online but there's a delay in response at the moment and the sale from appliancesonline is only for a week. I also checked that they currently have stock of the item.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
