TRAVELLERS can score hotel rooms across the Asia Pacific from $16 as part of a mega sale experts warn could be the last for some time.

Three hundred hotels in 16 countries will offer rooms for half price as part of Accor Hotels' three-day super sale.

The discounts will be on sale from March 7 until March 9, which will see rooms available in Melbourne from $49, Bangkok from $16 and Jakarta from $19.

Those after a room in Singapore will pay from $53, Beijing from $22 or Bali from $60.

Bargains will be available across all styles of rooms including five-star Pullman hotels through to the more economical Ibis hotels.

Graham Wilson, Accor Asia Pacific's Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing, warns that this may be one of the last mega sales on hotel rooms in some time as demand continues to grow.

"We began seeing strengthening demand early in the last quarter of 2009, which has resulted in a major increase in demand for rooms in 2010, which will inevitably lead to higher hotel rates," Mr Wilson said.

"These price levels are unlikely to be seen again for a considerable time."

The half price rate is calculated from the “rate of the day”.

  • yay! i got this deal last time. very good rooms. saved $920 on the cost of staying at the Novotel on Collins.

  • any particular dates you have to book your stay in ??

  • +1

    Here you go,

"The Super Sale is valid for stays 01 Apr-31 Aug, including Easter and winter holiday breaks in Australia, NZ, Fiji and Asia."

    Source: http://www.pickatrip.com.au/hotel/accor-3-day-asia-pacific-s…

    • thanks for that, perfect dates, just when i wanted to stay.

  • so how do we find out which countries are included?

    Hope HK and Malaysia are…

  • Lets wait and see

  • Anyone stayed in the Accor hotels in Malaysia?

    • Staying at the Novotel in KL in 6 days. Happy to let you know what it is like but will to late for this sale. I booked our room in the last sale at $58 a twin room per night.

Hoping to pick up some more bargain for our other trip later this year.

      • Yep please do. I hope not to taint your stay but the reviews on tripadvisor don't have much good to say about it! But if its real cheap I will stay anyway. Have a good trip!

        • The reviews have been less than nice but my parents stayed there about 2 months ago and had no dramas so I guess time will tell.

  • hmmph. can i book it for NYE O_O . in melbourne that is .

  • I really don't wanna miss out this one ;)
Anyone know what time will they start? (AEST / UTC / US time??)

    • if u are a-club member, it is start 5 march, just try login on the 5th march on your local time.

  • any idea if we can use a-club vouchers for this promotion? while it is stated in the a-club t&c that it can be used for any rate, these sales usually require us to prepay for our stay.. n a-club vouchers can only b used during check-out n not for prepaying for a stay..

    • same here. need to know if i can use the voucher that we got in previous deal (US$60 / EURO 40). Please do comment if any1 know :)

      • unfortunately, any sales online required prepaid payment, therefore your hotel voucher only can be use for breakfast / car park in the hotel / phone bill etc in the hotel.

  • You can use your vouchers anytime but you have to pay after your stay. You should call accor help desk to confirm if this sale means prepayment, no-cancelation. If it is, you cant use the voucher.

My work gets cheap rates anyway and I'm going to use the voucher. I got Ibis for $129 and could have Sofitel for $195. thats in Syd

  • Have any A/Club member been able to buy this deal yet?

  • i login just now but didnt see any good deal yet.. anyone logged in seen anything?

    • I was about to say the same. Didn't see anything about 3 day sale.

A-Club has the updated prices. The hotels Im looking at in Malaysia have gone down from $95.00 a night to around $77.00.

  • Cheapest Sydney offer I found was Mercure for $127, which is not the huge sale i imagined, there has to be something cheaper that is not Formula 1 :(

  • Can't find anything in HK or Macau. Dang.

    • +1

Are you sure? I found "Novotel Hong Kong Century" dropping from 166 to 97

Hi guys. Do not worry about this cause it is a scam. Once again IT IS A SCAM.
    I am an AClub member.
I tried to book a room on 5/03/2010 at 12:30am online - no deal on their Web page. Then I called them - they said the deal is not available yet. I checked their Web site at 2am - the deal was still not available. I checked their Web site at 8:30am - still not available. Then I called them and tried to make a booking for April-May 2010 - they said all rooms on special rate have been booked.
Can anyone tell me how it would happen if it was a genuine sale ?
The sale is not available for general public till 7/03/2010. The sale was not available online. The sale was not available over the phone either (at least till 2am). How can they sell ALL the rooms 2 months in advance ?
I've wasted my time organising registration for AClub, then searching through their hotels, monitoring their Web site, calling them. Actually from the beginning my gut feel was that it was a scam. and apparently it is.
IT IS A SCAM. IT IS A SCAM. IT IS A SCAM.

    • About 10 mins ago I saw rates at Hunter Valley at about $150 for king room. but when I was going to book it. It was gone. and now I searched all the weekend. Nothing is available even in June!!

    • Please read the term and condition and also check the participating hotels before you conclude this is a scam. I am able to find the discounted rate in Auckland. If you can't find it, it doesn't mean everyone can't find it as well. please check other member comment that got this sale.

  • The website is rubbish, but I've managed to book 4 nights in Chiang Mai in July for $14 per night, and 1 night in KL for $50.

I am 100% sure that all sale rooms would still be available, the sale has been live for just a few hours, and the rates really are not 'spectacular' compared to normal rales.

My tip is to make sure that you are correctly logged in before performing your search otherwise you will not see the special rates.

  • -2

I WAS CORRECTLY LOGGED before performing my search and all I could see was normal prices.
It is as I said before
    SCAM SCAM SCAM.

    • same here1 Gold Coast $217 per night? (lowest price) What the hell?

      • have u read the term and condition? i guess you never read the term and condition right?

  • +1

Worked for me. Just booked Grand Hotel Melbourne for half the price of wotif/lastminute price. Note that I tried Novotel and no sale. It's only for select hotels it seems.

  • +1

The sale is definetly now on for A-club members - but not for all hotels. I also just booked a room at the Grand Hotel Melbourne - two bedroom apartment for $180 a night, normally $360.

Also booked a room at the Sofitel (!) in Sydney - the luxury club suite for $280, instead of $560.

I couldn't find any at the Sofitel or Novotel in Melbourne, but I did see the Novotel in Darling Harbour had rooms.

Just make sure you go through the link above - http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/promotion/specials/supersale.s… - at least until Sunday, enter in your A-Club card number, and search per normal - if the hotel has the sale, that price will appear first in the list of prices for that hotel.

Edit: the sale fares are very clearly marked - they are called "3 day super sale" price or something like that - I noticed that some hotels still have a "hot deal" or "sale" price, but that isn't the same thing.

  • just called Ibis Melbourne n asked if I could pay with a-club vouchers for this sale. her answer is a definite NO.
isn't this contradicting with the a-club t&c that it can be used for ANY rate?

    • definitely you need to book online, therefore you have to pay using your cc, your hotel voucher can be use to pay your breakfast / car park in the hotel. that's mentioned in their website you have to book online

  • I booked some rooms in Malaysia, got an email saying its confirmed but my credit card hasn't been charged at all. Is this the same for everyone else?

    • My credit card has been charged already - booked a few hours ago.

      • Weird.. the emails say "Your payment authorization has been confirmed and is considered definite. You will find a summary of your reservation below."

But it hasn't been charged, I booked some air asia flights and tune hotel rooms at the same time. Wizard called me about these but no mention of accor. Oh well Im sure they will still be good for it.

Also did anyone get any aclub points for these bookings?

        • I haven't yet - don't the points only come through after the actual stay though?

        • +2

In some countries, I think the law is you can't be charged before but must be charged after your stay

          • @sash213: yes. i just booked my room in nz, and they only ask my cc number for guarantee of my booking.

  • -2

Rubbish sale, no good prices at hotels I checked in Sydney - misleading advertising on their behalf.

    • A lot of them would have sold out now it is near the end of the sale - I picked up a bargain at the Sofitel Sydney, and I know yesterday there were still really good prices at the Novotel at Darling Harbour as well as the Novotel Rockford.

(I just checked - you can still get a Deluxe King at the Rockford for $120 pn)

    • coz you are too late. if check earlier, still plenty of room available. and you don't read the term and condition

    • +1

Got great deals at a Mecure in Melb yesterday for August. I really think your negative vote is not fair.

  • Funny how the prices suddenly all went up. Normal rate was $160 now $200 so it's not really half price.

    • this is similar like the booking class in the airline, same economy class but they have different booking class. my one still the same.

  • Im a a-club member and got this offer in the email 48 hours before it was released to the public. I booked 3 nights in NZ wellington staying at the Ibis mecuree from $40 to 46 a night for two. So i thinks its a bargain considering the back packers i was going to stay at would have cost a lot more. I didn't get charged on my cc.

I now wonder how do i cash in my 2000 points to get the $60 usd vouchers do i have to call up? can they be used in NZ? How do i get points for the hotel do i simply quote the membership number during check in? can multiple vouchers be used in different family member names together to pay for the hotel stay during check out or just used for food etc? are they still offering 2000 points for new sign ups? do points expire?

    • +1

your a bit all over the place there
      1. I dont believe that bonus 2000 point offer is still running (someone correct me if I'm wrong)
      2. So assuming you have the 2000 points, just login and redeem them for a hotel voucher and select USD over Euros and it will be instantly emailed to you.
      3. Print it off on a full A4 paper and present when you pay at the end of your stay
      4. You should have been logged in as an A club member when you booked to receive your points for this stay. Just call and attach it to the booking or take the number with you and ask the hotel staff

      • Vouchers no good for this as must be prepaid. Only good if book full rate or otherwise use for extras.

        • not true, its for any rate. The only rule is it can't be prepaid. He hasn't been charged, so it can be assumed he will be charged at the end of his stay.

BTW the voucher expires after 6months, so don't redeem the points until your ready

  • dammit dammit dammit

i just logged on to book 5 nights in Singapore - was advertised at 70AUD p/n yesterday — now nearly 200aud p/n

    i'm kicking myself right now….

    • it has been extended until 10 march 2010 midnight
