Hey guys dell is having a $250 off special on the Dell 2408wfp lcd monitor in the small business section, bringing the monitor to $549 delivered but you can also combine the small business 15% coupon (expires 02/05/10) and thus making the monitor cost only $466.64 delivered.

EDIT————$250 off deal has been extended till the 25th and the 15% off coupon still works until the 2nd of may, so those who couldnt get one in the last 3 days have extra time to.

This is one of the better monitors out there with multiple inputs and a PVA panel, TN cheaper 24" monitors cannot match the quality of this and the dell S-IPS monitors.

      apparently A02 revision fixed the lag issue, monitors made after 2008 are all A02s or newer revision.

      I am also tempting to get a second one for photoediting :d

        im coming from a 2407wfp myself and i like the extra inputs especially the sdhc card reader on the 2408wfp, as for lag i will hope it will be similar to my 2407.

    The first google result for 'Dell 2408WFP issue' is about vertical line problem. Including this one from Dell itself:

    I know the unit would be covered by the warranty, still a hassle, is it not? So this problem already fixed?

      I think with the 3 years warranty how can you go wrong. At least its a known problem your buying that "might" arise unlike other screens that might fault after the warranty ends you or others never knew about.

    i have been looking at same deal for a couple of weeks now, using NRMA member coupon… seemed to be a good deal, very good comments on this monitor. Just couldn't make up my mind.

    if there's a $250 cash off, does that mean these things are heading for end of life? it is a 31% discount not including the coupon

    but meh 41% off with the coupon doesnt make a big deal, lets hope my dad will agree to get me one :D

      wrong aspect ratio
      the monitor is 16:10 (the right ratio for computing)
      ps3 is 16:9 (television widescreen)

      Yeah the aspect is different but it'll still work. I'm pretty sure this model has a 1:1 pixel mapping mode which means instead of stretching the image to fill the screen it will preserve the correct 16:9 aspect ratio by adding black bars to the top and bottom.

        Something that doesn't get much mention is its Picture-in-Picture capability (if inputting a DTV signal) at the same time as the expected main usage as a 'puter monitor.
        Watch tv and do spreadsheets at the same time.

    I ordered mine online 2 days ago and havent even received an email notification confirming my order.

    I had to ring Dell 5 times (got disconnected or transferred to a dead line 4 times) and now Im waiting for the consultant who processed my website order to ring me back…

    I do have an internet reference number I printed out, they knew my company name, and one of the guys on the phone converted this into a Dell order number for me, so its certainly in their system somewhere…

      heh lucky you.. I also ordered mine online last Wednesday..
      So far no email to confirm order (but I have a printout saying the order was submitted successfully, with an internet reference number) and several phone calls to Dell… the person who processed my internet order was supposed to ring me last week… but nothing.

    i just received my dell 2408WFP i didnt expect it today but was a surprise, i just snapped it on my 2407wfp stand and away it went :D
