The fact that there has been this many clicks, and it hasn't sold out yet, makes me think they aren't keeping stock levels properly.

    • +5

Yeah I'm expecting an email cancelling the order.

    • I think the fact that it's 14 business days for delivery suggests they probably don't stock them themselves at all and either drop ship or bulk order after the fact.

  • Thanks op good deal bought one

  • +2

Stinks of another OPSM refund for many I fear :/

  • +2

    "Non-Polarized"

    Deal breaker

    • +6

Agreed… $50 for what are effectively cheap very basic sunnies with a logo. Might as well go buy $5 ones.

    • +1

I don't get this. There is polarized sunnies for sale.

    • +3

You'd be interested to know that professional drivers and pilots do not wear a polarised lense.

Sounds like the polarising marketing team convinced you that it's that or nothing when polarising does not change UV protection what so ever. It was originally made for fishermen, it reduces glare by not allowing light that is orientated in certain directions to enter the lens.

Don't need to spend hundreds on glasses but I'd sooner wear cellophane over my eyes than a pair of $5 sunnies

      • Good information, but why do Pilots not wear Polarised glasses?

        • Polarised sunglasses block out light reflected off a horizontal surface such as a flat road or surface of water. Or the wing of another plane. So I'm guessing as a pilot you would want to see the reflection of another plane.

        • +2

Pilots are in a cockpit surrounded by LCD screens. Most of these are polarised themselves so if you're wearing polarised sunglasses the screen may look completely black. Ever seen someone think their phone is broken when they are looking at it through their sunnies?

As for drivers well they usually wear a brown graduated lens. Polarising causes annoying artifices depending on the angle of the sun. You can see the tint laminates on your windshield and sometimes a rainbow effect.

It's also not advisable to wear them if your doing any sort of risky skiing as you may not see changes in the properties of the snow ahead.

Like I said, polarising was originally made for fisherman so they could see better through the water. The marketing machine has worked on convincing everyone else so Sunglass retailers can gouge the consumer more

        • I like them because I'm at the beach a lot

  • At this price, you make money selling them on eBay as used rather than return it if you don't like it or doesn't fit properly.

  • +3

$50 for Oakley Jupiter squared, bargain. Got them and the rayban. Don't even need them but too hard to resist at that price.

    • got the jupiter too.. please convince me not to get the raybans as well ><

  • Thanks OP !! Fantastic deal !!!

  • Wow just bought a pair from OPSM yesterday! Damn the timing of this sale annoys me :(

    • I think you can return it without fuss. Just wait until order is confirmed though.

  • Just got a pair of Oakley Holbrook Grey Smoke. Whistle*

    • Yup same here. Be sure to look up polarized lenses for the holbrook on ebay, if you need them.

    • Was tossing up between them and the Rayban Justin and went for the rayban in the end, Holbrook does look pretty good though

  • Grabbed a pair of Carreras, thanks OP

  • After the Opsm saga as much as I'm tempted once bitten twice shy

    • What was the opsm saga?

  • what is their returns policy? as in, for non-faulty items?

    • Free returns is what i found under terms and conditions

      • +3

i only saw that is for defects

  • I am Receiving Error Code Declined - Do not honour (05) After Payment…

    • There may be an issue with your card because it's a generated response coming from your bank

      • +1

Got the Month Wrong on Expiry , :)

  • I assume anyone can purchase, not just Bupa members?

  • So many great deals at OPSM at the moment I feel like stockpiling. Must resist.

  • Can you get a prescription in these when ordering? If so, can anyone advise how? I've tried creating an account and adding my prescription.

  • Also wondering about prescription…..it would be awesome if these were prescription sunnies!

    • Bring this frame with $250 to OPSM and they will sort it out for you ($350 if you want it polarised too).

  • got some. thanks for heads up!

  • Ordered one.. Good Deal..

  • ordered, and some oakleys too… thanks !

  • Ordered the ray ban that was linked and the Tom Ford Olivier, seems like a great deal compared to the prices that are listed on many websites equating to some monstrous price.

    • +1

I missed the $150 Tom Ford Olivier. Saw that last night and forget to buy it. :(

      • I was pretty surprised at the savings as I saw on Tom Ford's website for 460(?) USD, so I had to take it. Better luck next time (:

  • Dear Bupa,
Please don't reject me like OPSM.

    Great deal OP!

  • -5

Why there is so many votes for non-polarized basic glasses?

I thought ozb-er not obsessed with brand and always prioritize value

  • A pair of Oakley Holbrook and one Ray-Ban Justin for $102. Sweet! Thanks, OP

  • Good timing. I've been looking to buy something like Holbrook. Purchased for $54. Thanks OP :)

  • Put through two orders after getting jilted by opsm on my persols…

  • Awesome $54 for Holbrook's,thanks OP

  • Should I be worried if I only got 1 confirmation email for 1 pair but was charged 4 times on my credit card. What to do?

    • Get ready for being stuffed around

    • I can see how this is happening to people. I noticed when I clicked pay at the checkout the site appears to do nothing, but in actual fact it is processing… I assume people getting charged multiple times have clicked the pay button again after assuming it's doing nothing.

  • Thanks op ordered holsbrook..

  • Its looking like even though I paid for 4 (3 of which I didn't want) I will probably only get the one which the confirmation email was sent for. If anyone contacts buba about being over charged can you please tell me what they say about reimbursement.

    • Yeah I'm in the same boat. Charged 4 times for the one order. Purchase athuorisations can drop off.
I'd wait until it's an actual debit from your credit card before contacting Bupa or your bank

      • Thanks. The four amounts are just pending on my credit card at the moment.

    • +2

I tried calling bupa on 1300 791 985, as I was charged multiple times on my credit card. They keep disconnecting when I tried to call during business hours. Does anyone else have the same problem?

  • Where can we get cheap polarised lenses for the holbrook??

  • +17

For bupa members, try using code HIMS-CC1 to get $50 off the total amount.

    • +2

Thanks. Just to confirm, code works just once per membership.

      • so is literally FREE for Bupa members

    • +1

Thanks for that. Had to place another order just to use this code lol.

    • thank you !

    • Thanks crazynic. Picked up Raybans for $13

    • Thanks Crazynic, ordered one Oakley

      • ditto

  • Thanks crazynic!

  • Thanks OP.
Great first Post, hope all orders get honoured.

  • I have a pair of these. They scratch very easily compared to other RayBans I've had for 10+ years with no scratch.

  • does anyone know what is the return policy?

    • Read the comments dude

      • dude…comments are not clear…someone is saying u can return it without any issue and someone is saying it is only for defective pieces. Please enlighten me with ur knowledge on the subject!

  • Is 54mm too big??

    • +2

      Ask your girlfriend.

  • Given it's a "work" day and the web sales team should be in by now, and that orders are still being placed, would it be naive to assume that orders will be fulfilled? I popped into the local BUPA Optical store and they had ZERO stock of the models on sale!

  • looks like all the sale items are being pulled from the website as we speak…

  • No more stock., All sale Sunglasses are finished..

    • Yeah, I noticed. I went out for literally 10 minutes to buy something for tonight and what I wanted to buy is gone.

    • Damn. Spoke too soon. The waiting game begins!

  • Isn't it a bit strange that ALL sale items have gone in such a short time? Some were not so cheap (>$300, even if the RRP was higher of course) and just a couple of hours ago they had plenty of models.

    • Their online sales team must have been flooded with order and don't know what to do…will see if any of the orders go through.

  • Now there is an ad on their website announcing a sale 30 to 70% off selected styles and "find a store". So yes, maybe they couldn't handle all the orders online?

  • I wouldn't worry too much about the stock levels as they're dispatched in 3 weeks, long enough time to find stock and fill everyone's orders

    • Yep and they come from Luxottica anyway, they will have more than enough stock available and still be making a profit at these prices

  • I have a feeling orders will be cancelled as I tried to use the $50off code and worked when I ticked yes to Bupa member without requiring a membership number. The site is poorly setup.

    • +1

If you continue to the end of the Checkout process, it asks for your Bupa details and won't let you continue without a valid membership number, etc

I tried this and didn't have the details, so by the time I went back to put my order through at the normal price, the sale had expired and I missed out :(

      • I went through to credit card detail page. There was no other step after that page when i ordered mine without the code yesterday.
Edit: you are right it needs the Bupa membership number at the last step.

  • OzBargained again !!!

  • +1

    They're putting them back online!

    • Yep just randomly refreshed a page on my tablet where I had this deal open and it's letting me process an order and checkout :)

Limited selections though, none of the previous Ray Ban/Oakley's

  • Hi guys, Sale is still goin on.. Not Expired

  • I think they took them down earlier to make some changes to the terms. There appears to be a asterisk next to the prices which points to the condition:

Cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount or benefit from any source

I haven't tried because I've already redeemed it, but I'm guessing that $50 code won't work now? Can anyone confirm?

    • +1

Still worked for me - just got Carreras with my partners bupa number for $20

    • It always said that… I don't think they will honour the "free" glasses.

      • Oh did it? I didn't notice it yesterday. My bad.

  • now the glasses are ugly..

  • Hope they took out the Ray Bans and Oakley ones meaning they are out of stock now and the online stock count is reliable which also means our orders can be fulfilled.

    • With 20k+ clicks, I'm not sure if they'd have all the stock for the ordered Ray Bans and Oakleys. I got myself a $72 D&G shades from Christmas OPSM sale but got an email yesterday telling me that they'd refunded me back my money as they'd finished all their stock. Oh well, if this arrives then good, if not, then lucky for the ones who'll be getting the $50 shades. :-)

  • I missed out on using HIMS-CC1 code yesterday to get extra $50 off the Holbrooks :( :( …. So I bought a Carrera today for $20 using the code. HAPPY AGAIN :)

I just hope they honour all our orders.
