  • Hopefully they provide tracking numbers

  • Anyone heard either a delivery/confirmation/cancellation?

    • I think today is the first business day since the deal

      • Im calling it. Were all getting refunds.

        • I ordered just before the deal got to the front page, so I have a little bit of hope.

  • I have tried calling a few times over the past hour as my street name is missing on my invoice.

The person who answers hangs up straight away without even saying anything…

Maybe no one will get their order?

    • Same.. they have my address wrong as well just tried calling it seems to be routing to Knox store (VIC) but then something answers it and hangs up.

      • Mine just has the street number with no actual street? Is yours the same? If so maybe just a glitch in their invoicing and if we are lucky enough to have our order fulfilled. Maybe it will be posted to the correct address??

        • had my PO box but instead of my suburb it put 'Melbourne'

        • After I've just read your post I've double-checked my confirmation email and as you said, the street name is missing. Everything else is there except the street name. Either a glitch in their system or they purposefully did it to screw us up. lol

I'll try to give them a call sometime this afternoon and see what they say; fingers crossed.

Edit: I've called them twice and as few other people said early, calls end after couple of rings. I am smelling a refund but will send them an email for the sake of it.

  • I have my address as a PO box. I looked today and apparently they don't post to PO boxes. So my orders royally screwed :(.

  • Hmm.. no update yet.

    • +1

If the order confirmation email is accurate, you won't see an update for around 3 weeks.

  • I've tried to call many times and always end up being hung up on

  • So all 4 of the debits on my card went through for the one order.
I can't get through to their customer service line.
My address is wrong on the invoice.

You'd think this was bupas first time lol

Will be calling the bank today for 3 change backs!

    • Same, I put a dispute form and had to cancel my card in the process.

  • Is anyone tempted to call Fair Trading?

    • +1

      Why?

    • only less than a week of waiting? Or they confirm not fulfilling your order or refunding your money?

  • I was billed for 4 when I only wanted 1 pair. I got through to Bupa and this is what they said.
The reason nobody was answering my phone calls yesterday is that the online website was inundated with over 4000 jobs over a couple of days and glitched as the website couldn’t handle it, so they are currently working through each one manually as we speak.
I get the feeling all orders will be honoured and mistakes fixed.

    • Following that convo you had with them - will you be waiting for them to reimburse you or will you be initiating a chargeback right away?

      • +1

I will wait for them to reimburse me. I don't want the chargeback jeopardising my single order. I would never of thought I would get a pair of Holbrook's for about $50.

  • What is going on? I was curious and upon reading the last couple of posts in the deal and realizing folks talking about wrong addresses on their confirmation emails, I've checked mine and they didn't include my suburb in the email at all. My name, street name & number, city, state and post address are all there but both in the billing information and shipping information boxes, they left out the suburb. Was that on purpose or there's something wrong with their system?

    • Mine is the same, they don't need the suburb though. Postcode is enough.

      • I hope that to be the case, mate. I got two different pairs for a decent price so it would be nice to receive them, but if push comes to shove then I hope a smooth refund and not back-and-forth nightmare for ages.

  • Make a post on their Facebook and link them to this thread. They seem to be rather slow and incompetent..
    https://www.facebook.com/BupaAustralia/

    • That's a good idea but I have been avoiding FB for some other reasons so I'll sit tight and see if they'll respond to the email I've sent them a little while ago. Let's hope for the best.

  • +1

    They'll be hating on me!
I was only charged once and confirmation email address correct, nothing missing

Better honour my early buy before posting the deal

    • Same here but my order was post-deal. Just patiently assuming they are processing the orders after festive season.

  • I'm going to assume that my order went through? On my Commbank app, I was charged once with 'Available funds' been taken and 'Account Balance' being full; so it was Pending. Just today, the money has been confirmed taken and not listed as pending anymore. I purchased on the 30th, address is correct, only charged once. Hope this goes through! They probably just got back from their New Years break as just this Monday was their first business day. Same for my Lacoste order from the 27th December and only JUST yesterday, they started dispatching orders. Good luck to everyone with their orders and hope it gets honoured.

    • The money already confirm yesterday, sent email to ask why its still processing. There is no response and the phone is hang up as people confirmed.

Also I received refund from OPSM today as well. Is something wrong with those glasses companies?

      • Damn, maybe we should give them '14 business days' before we should follow up with something. It's been 3 days; but it's a bit sceptical when they don't even know how to answer the phone.

        • +1

Either way, I hope they process the refunds efficiently. They should atleast send out a generic email to everyone who has put through an order as to what their intentions are, not answering phone calls and no email updates isn't the right way to go about it.

  • OMG.. I purchased Ray Ban Sunglasses on 31/12.. Even now my order is under Processing as I know it's a very long weekend & 3 days after holidays.. Hope they process it more efficiently & quickly..

  • How can you tell the status of your order?

    • Login to your Bupa optical online acc if u have one..

  • "Hey _______,

Thanks for getting in touch. Regrettably, due to unexpected volumes, at this stage we’re unable to cater for the amount of orders that have come through, and we will be sending you a full refund of your order.

With regards to the phone service. Due to the unexpected amount of orders, this has prompted a large number of customers call in and enquire. This is why it’s been extremely difficult to answer all enquires that come through.

You should be contacted in the next couple days, and a refund can be expected in the next 5-10 working days.

    Kind regards,

    Jack."

I've contacted them via the facebook page and this is their response. As expected, seems like another OPSM.

    • +1

I hate companies that choose to respond via facebook but ignore other forms of communication ie email and phone calls. I am happy for them to cancel my order and never have to deal with them again.

      • Agree with you, it wouldn't take someone too long to send out the above generic FB reply to everyone who made an order via email.

  • +1

Unacceptable. To take that long for a response and not provide updates is garbage. They can get more stock of these as they are Luxottica brand, so no excuse really. And 5-10 working days for a refund?? Pfft. I will tell them im happy to wait for them to secure more stock.

    • I guess in situations like these it would be wishful thinking that all the orders will be fulfilled. I'd prefer the sunnies, but a prompt refund will have to do I guess.

  • So, no one's received their order… wow… at least they have my address correct on the website and in the order confirmation (PDF file).

I guess after 7 days, and still showing "processing" on the order, I won't hold my breath in getting the Ray Bans.

I know if I jump on Facebook or give them a call they'll just give me a similar reply to what Aced21 received, and i'll probably get a refund. I'd much rather wait and actually get the sunnies.

  • I ordered to collect from the Perth City store so no address issues. Tried to collect today if they had the same pair in stock already but they didn't have it there. Will have to wait and see what happens now but don't hold much hope…

  • The first and last time I'll ever buy anything from Bupa. I was reading their online reviews on prodcutreview site 2 days ago and it seems their reputation precedes them. If only I did a quick background check before I made the haste decision to order the sunnies.

PS: Funny thing, even when I try to check this deal for new comments it doesn't show up in my notifications section on the top. Even when I search it on the forum it's on the second page, whereas very old deals from the same company show up on the fist page of the search result. Something is very fishy here. Well, lesson learned and never again.

  • "Hi ______,

Thanks for your patience on this. Stocks were very limited with this clearance sale and we’ve exceeded our ability to supply at this price. We’ll be organising a refund for customers who couldn’t get this price.

At Bupa, we want to make sure everyone has a fabulous look this summer, so if you’ve missed out on this offer, we’ve got a 30% off in-store or online offer available especially for you. This, along with notification of whether we’re able to supply for you and instructions on how to get this offer will be sent to you via email over the weekend and next week, so you can still get your 2016 look.

    Healthy regards,

    Amryn"

This is in response of waiting for more stock if possible. Facebook response.

  • 30% is crap. Sunglasses, especially those made by luxottica have huge markups and 30% is a regular sale. I hope my order goes through.

  • Bait and switch?

  • Oh the suspense is killing me… Wonder what will happen to my order, I had chosen instore pickup.

  • Well they've kept our money for over a week with no communication…

    • Your credit card companies money you mean

  • +1

Got an email regarding the refund:-(

  • +1

Got an email as well about the refund :(

  • +2

Received the email for the refund, says "limited stock sale and orders have greatly exceeded our ability to supply, so your order could not be fulfilled", however they are still selling the same item on the full price on the web…!!! :(

  • +1

Cancelled. Been with them since 1985. Never claimed gym membership, shoes, QFF and any other ridiculous inducement offered to new but not existing members.

  • Got the refund email but the same item is still up on the website. :/

  • Got the email too. Damn. Now they have all my details. Should've known this was too good to be true

  • +1

I ordered within 5 minutes of the deal going up and got cancelled, what's the go there?

    • Seems like a mass email, not cool at all. Don't think they have any intention to honor any orders.

  • GG :(

  • +1

Even my purchase before posting the deal is getting refunded
    Gutted!

    • Hahahha they probably only had 1 or 2 available.
      Just had mine cancelled too

    • Did you order using the discount code? I placed 2 orders, one with and one without the code. I only received one cancellation email (it doesn't say which order it relates to) so I wonder if one of my orders is still going to be fulfilled?

Regardless, it's a big steaming pile of bs and I'm a Bupa member too.

  • Got the email too.. grrr I wanted those sunnies. Well, won't ever be signing up for a policy with BUPA! Boo to them. Wonder if they will supply any orders at all.. and to take a week to update customers, really poor form.

  • +2

30 business days for a refund… And they're still selling the item online too

    • They're selling the black frame, not the matte grey frame?

      • Damn yeah you're right :|

        • I ordered the black. Received the same cancellation email. An extra 30 days for a refund is really poor form. After reading the comments, I am going to check I only got charged once. Not good enough Bupa Optical

  • Yeah just got the email saying my order is cancelled. Pretty poor in my opinion but I'm not going to argue the point, I'll just avoid buying anything from them in the future.

  • Ordered cancelled as above. Opsm deal was cancelled too but then said it was sent.

We shall see if i get refunded..

  • Anything worth buying at 30% off?

    • +2

Dunno but I wouldn't take up the offer just on principle.

  • Never expected to receive my order but baited if you ask me

  • Refund email!

  • Seems like bait to me and they didn't have any in stock to supply at all. The least they could do is offer the black pair of Rayban as replacement.

  • +1

I think the annual sunglass hut 40% off family and friends sale is coming up soon.

  • havn't got my e-mail but would like to get another pair of maui jims in store for the missus, is the code just sunny30 i have to mention?

  • Got my email… Refund.
Went to check their online store, the model I ordered is there.. what gives!? It's at full Price now…

  • Just got my email…..are these people for real! I jumped on at the start of the offer and:
Thank you for visiting our Bupa Optical Sunglass Clearance website and ordering sunglasses.

As noted on our website, this was a limited stock sale and orders have greatly exceeded our ability to supply, so your order could not be fulfilled.

We will refund the full amount of your order directly to your credit card as soon as possible, within a maximum of 30 business days.

We apologise for any inconvenience and would like to offer you 30% off any regular priced pair of sunglasses across the 17 brands in our…..blah, blah, blah.

What, they had one of each style….Thanks for nothing Bupa!!!!

  • all my friends got refund email. did anyone actually receive glasses or it was just a hoax to capture information of all new purchasers to be used for other purposes?

  • Got the email too, as expected. Not fussed, I'll take my money elsewhere and notify others to do the same from now on.

Now to wait on the refund.

  • Make a complaint to Fair Trading?

  • If you have facebook, leave them some feedback here and see what sort of response they give next week
    https://www.facebook.com/BupaAustralia/

  • +2

Really poor experience. 30 days for a refund? What a joke

  • My theory is that they don't think they have an image to maintain as a 'retail store', so they are fine with screwing people over like this. The OP got their order cancelled too :/

  • +1

'We will refund the full amount of your order directly to your credit card as soon as possible, within a maximum of 30 business days. '

30 business days?? What a joke.

  • Refund email received. I actually thought that I would finally claim a quasi "extra" from them after years of never using most of the rubbish extras that they crow about in their insurance packages. If they had limited stock they should have prioritised it for their members.

    • And I just checked their sunglasses web site and the pair I ordered are still available on the sale page at the same price! What's going on there BUPA?

  • In case you want to leave feedback about your experience with BUPA for this deal: https://www.facebook.com/BupaAustralia/

Alot of people have left feedback and rating.

  • Both missus and I got the refund emails too.

  • Seems like it was a mass email as it was emailed at around 9. Go to their facebook page and leave comments and review. THis is poor communication and why did the transaction forward through when they know stock levels are low? They left it pending till business day and they 'OK' the transaction, pathetic. https://www.facebook.com/BupaAustralia/

  • Cancelled. Not very happy.

  • I guess nowadays we don't expect online orders being fulfilled but hope for a good surprise if they arrive.

  • Cancelled. Seems like bait advertising/not a reasonable quantity to me if not even the OP got his…

  • Got double charged.
Took over a week to respond to emails.
Then order canceled with up to 30 business days for refund.
    Lmao

    • +2

Make the process a little more difficult for them and lodge credit card charge backs and paypal disputes.

      • +6

Working for a bank in a merchant area I can tell you that most businesses get charged approx $33 per dispute lodged against them so would be one way to get back to them for holding our money
