WORX WG308E JawSaw with Extension Pole - Clearance item at Masters - $59.00

120

Having rudely missed out on this recent deal by being notified it was out-of-stock after successfully purchasing it on ebay, I located a better deal on this item.

My local Masters had about a dozen of these on clearance hiding on the top of the racks. I am told this should be all stores and not just a local markdown. I could not find it listed on their webpage but it has been incrementally marked down in the past and previously listed as a deal. It has been reduced from around $200 and is currently $59.00, but if you wait until next week, you should get 10% off with this voucher, and if you pay for it with a discounted wish card, take another 5% or so off. You do the maths…

This is the lowest price I have found, and is better than the SCA deal as it includes the extension pole in the box — it is up to you if you want to use it or not (it's around $100 on ebay as a separate item).

  • Couldn't find any at Box hill Masters nor the poles. The extension poles also AWOL in Aus now and only available from the USA for those suckered into the earlier deal.

Did you ask them if they could check their stock levels on computer? The stock number is on my receipt above. These were hidden well away from the other "name brands" on display and were only mentioned in passing by the staff member while I was enquiring about the expensive ones.

I'll sell you my extension pole for $99 :)

      • Hopefully Hunterofbargains can help us out.
If its a clearance item and it's not on their website, then it might just be down to trying your luck at stores (think Dicksmith, Officeworks)

      • Ordered the extension pole from the USA (CPO Outlet was cheapest I found for $62.87 USD shipped FWIW). Boxhill is a newish store and has had a layout update so they may have never had these / have already cleared out. Certainly there is no price tag / empty space where they would or could have been since the layout change a month or so back.

        • Even though you can get the poles from overseas, they will probably have a US power plug and socket, so you will be up for some rewiring. My extension pole has an integrated Australian extension lead built in, I assume it is necessary to transfer the operation mechanism to the end of the pole. You could run a lead up the pole to the head, but I don't know if the operating switch will work the same.

        • @endotherm: Yep - I realise that. Making a home brew extension was going to be much harder than taking the US plug model and just swapping the plugs (if the mechanism requires it) or otherwise just running the extension lead up the pole. Its still coming out cheaper than any other viable pole saw type solution.

  • These were cleared out ages ago… surprised your store still had them.

  • Does anyone have the SKU number?

    • There's a receipt scanned at the top of the deal page. I think it is 6947372511663.

      • Yeah I thought the same, but normally the numbers look like MAS_101602254 or just 101602254. I have never seen a number (and I live at Masters LOL) that has started with 694. Thanks for the reply though :)

  • Ok, went into the Box Hill store on another errand and got them to lookup the item using the code off the receipt posted just for a laugh - there is no stock in Victoria listed except South Morang and that was a single unit (and may not exist). It sounded like there were a 'few' listed interstate, its no longer stocked and has been on runout clearance pricing for some time so you would have to be very very lucky to find one.

    • That seems to follow the comments that this item should have cleared out ages ago. All I know is that Roxburg Park (north of Broadmeadows) had a stack of them 2 or 3 deep hiding waaaay up on the top of the racks, I estimate 10-12 left. I guess it didn't help that it wasn't with the other trimmers and there was no price tag. I think it was over the lawnmowers. As I said previously, it was only just because the staff member knew about it and mentioned it in passing.

    • I got mine today at Roxburg Park after being told earlier over the phone by one of the staff member from the Roxburg Park that they don't have any stock left and the item were on clearance ages ago.
Conclusion: Don't trust what they told you 100% since they can be lazy or their inventory can be wrong. After I left (around 5pm today) they still have 5 left so if anyone wanna try their luck, pass by the store tomorrow morning.

Sometimes its best to check out the store yourself. There has been plenty of times where staff (not just Masters) just check the computer.

  • Thanks OP. Just picked one up in Ellenbrook Masters, WA. One more left there still, along with a stack of other clearance power tools.

  • Theres still 6 left at Nerang Masters. I've just picked one up :)
