Quality Street Tins $3 (Was $25) @ Woolworths [The Ponds NSW]

600

Don't know if it's the same elsewhere but my local woolies have quality street tins down to $3. They expire in June 2016.
I bought three for me and two for the in laws.
They also had frozen licensed wrapping paper rolls down to 10 cents each but I took the last of them.

  • Incredible.
People were still buying them at $6.25 a few hours ago. I wonder if that price is store only or national.

      $6.25 at Chullora NSW @6.45am - bastards

      • $6.25 at Redfern NSW. About 40 tins left.

      • ($3) price that low is insane as I bought 16tins for $100 :( any advice.

        • Are you putting them on ebay?

        • @Islund: oh yeah good idea will do that :)

'Quality' isn't really the right word

      What that JV?
I'll have you know that Queen herself has approved of these fine chocolates.
They are chocolates suitable for a royal personage.

      • +1

Then they'd be called 'Royal' or 'HMRC'

        • +1

Yes the tin has the royal seal "by appointment".
Oh yes, rest assured you are eating the same fine chocolates as Liz herself.
          (may not actually be true)

        • Actually that's not true JV and you know it.

Twinings tea is just one example off the top of my head.

        • @King Tightarse: by appointment yup my Nan love queen teen love Justin Bieber.

    • It usually means pretty much the opposite. Probably good quality compared to anything else out there for the same price.

      • +4

I'm not saying they're not good value at that price, but 'Quality' they ain't….

        • +2

Have to agree - not much chocolate in there. More glucose syrup. :) But at $3 a tin it`s probably better than other cheap sweets.

        • +1

@saffers: JV are you grumpy cat in disguise?

  • Phwoah!

BTW chocolate doesn't go off that quickly - it separates if not stored properly and gets that whitish thing. I presume the stuff inside would last a long time too.

Why would you need a use by date on chocolate?

      • Because the govt said so?

      • Yep, everyone knows it evaporates straight out of the wrapper in a day or two. That's what my wife and kids claim at least.

    • That is correct, food items with a best before dates simply reflect the date beyond which the quality starts deteriorating but can still be safely consumed.

Just hoping our local has it at that price too :-)

  • What? Went to Safeway today. Didn't see them anywhere :(

  • Gordon (NSW) Woolies had then for $6 something.

    • My local Woolies still had these marked at $6.25 this arvo and they have like 100 tins left. I grabbed a tin, but if they go down in price…I'll have to grab another. :D

    Proof of purchase thanks!

    • +8

Why proof of purchase? The photo clearly shows the price tag for the item specifically.

      • Yeah, how can i delete my comment?

You cannot, your foolishness is there for eternity!!!

Plenty at the hugely inflated price of $6.25 at Woolies, New Town, Tas.
My teenage daughter would not let me channel Ricky Gervais and ask the staff to "take me to Equality Street" which was disappointing.

But it is made by the evil Nestle, don't do it people!!!
