My $3 Reject Shop umbrella will do, thanks :)

I might go and check the warranty details. I fear the first strong breeze will destroy one of those. At least Bunnings should be around for long enough to honour any warranty there is…

Hi. I think they have a 1 year warranty however mine broke after the first big breeze so I returned it to swap for a new one. Now I just tie a small rope through 2 poles under the canvas and tie it off at the fence so when the breeze comes it gives it a bit more support.

Not a bargain though. These were $49 for about 3 months…

    • One of these blew of a roof top bar in Sydney the other night at our Christmas party. The freeway to Harbour Bridge up ramp is below the bar. Let me tell you how lucky the bar is that they have a maintenance ledge below and it got caught on it.

    • Bought a couple of these last time. Not great quality but okay for the price.

If you leave them set up then you're right, won't last a decent breeze…but that's not how they're meant to be used. Wind it down and tie it up when you're finished with it for the day and it'll last until the fabric starts falling apart from the sun.

    • just don't accept gift cards as a return :-)

yeah it doesn't take much to bend these & for the string to break.
Also amazingly they fade really quickly.

  • If the current weather continues (in Sydney), it can be repurposed as an umbrella as well. Good deal.

  • Picked up one of these a few months ago when they first went on sale - not too bad in the breeze but you need at least 90 kgs to weigh it down so it doesn't blow over.

Had been cheaper $49 a few months ago :) Still a decent deal too bad i am looking for a market umbrella.

    • Let me know if you find a decent one.

    • These are slightly different to the $49 ones - these can be rotated near the base, whereas the $49 are locked into two positions with only 1 screw. 2 screws on these ones. Worth the extra $9 imo (wish i hadn't bought the $49 ones).

  • These were on special for $49 at box hill vic from memory

  • Bolt this thing into the ground because when they blow over it is C A R N A G E.

    • tell the story!

Think Australia Day, Trestle table next to the pool, food out, about to sit down for lunch, gust of wind, BAM this thing hits table, stuff goes flying everywhere, most goes in the pool. Good times.

  • Grow a tree lol jk. I been looking at those types myself. I think ill wait till"summer" is over and grab a bargain on the better ones.

  • the cord (which cranks up the umbrella) in my one broke after 3 weeks in a mild breeze. Not the most solid piece of kit.

  • These are terrible quality. They break, plastic bits and pieces. Plus any decent breeze it will not tolerate.

    Avoid.

  • Been looking for a cantilever type umbrellas. Be careful most don't come with weighted base. You have to buy them separately.
These ones from Master are $30 a pop. You'll need four, so $120 just for the bases:

    • Don't most people just use spare pavers around the house to weigh them down.

  • I bought the cantilever umbrella from Aldi recently. First whiff of a breeze broke it :( This one doesn't look much better..

  • Now $49
