Obvious price error, its either missing a zero, or the price for 8GB.

    • +3

This'll go great with my G.Star gear

    • or the price for 8GB

You mean the price for 128MB

Some people will be disappointed if this was the typo and they honour it.

  • +29

Obvious. They won't honour, so don't waste their time.

    • -3

Even though they won't honour, there might be a slight chance that they give voucher or put the bargain for the RAM.

Anyway there also a possibility that the refund process delayed like mad (2 months), if you remember the Xperia Z2 bargain last year.

      • +10

I've ordered from TechBuy twice. Both times they couldn't honour the sales (out of stock etc). Both times they didn't bother to contact me to let me know. Both times I had to call them and ask wtf was happening. Both times they didn't really care that I was trying to order several thousand dollars worth of gear from them. Both times I cancelled the orders and got a refund. Now they're on our supplier blacklist.

So, if they can't honour a regular sale, it's unlikely that they'll honour this.

        • I've had very similar experience - again VOID TECHBUY.

Poor sales, no follow ups, lots of items out of stock.

        • I feel your frustration.
Poor stock management and web stock maintenance.

  • Seems too good to be true.

  • $926.50 is more believable price, they've obviously stuffed this up

  • +4

Just saw the price change to $92.65. They're trying to correct it.

    • +2

      LOL

    • +7

It hasn't changed at all. $92.65 + the delivery cost of $9.90 = a total of $102.55, which is exactly what is written in the title.

  • +20

What's the point of posting price errors? If you find one, just keep it for yourself and hope for the best. But now thats its on ozb there's no way it will be honoured.

    • +6

next time i will keep it to myself….

      • +9

Thanks for letting us know mate, there's been occasions where price errors have been honoured and people have gotten unbelievable deals here. It's all worth a shot I say.

      • +1

Keep up the good work m8.
Don't be discouraged for your first post :)

      • Just wait until you receive delivery of your order, then post it.

    • Shh, we should just be really quiet, maybe no one will notice…

      • Of course noone will notice the thousands of orders that went through xD

        • +8

Maybe if we make really quiet orders, type really quietly, as a note for the delivery guy "pls walk really quietly when delivering this thnx". No one will notice.

        • @mattydogge: The only problem is you will not aware of the delivery guy is here because he follow instruction to be quiet, therefore no one pick up the parcel and it return to the sender. lol

        • @dlovep: Don't be silly - delivery drivers NEVER follow the instructions that you provide for them.

        • @csm101: Yeah, for this deal they simply don't deliver at all.

    • +2

This is why people rarely put the Good Great Bargain in OZB.
Popular "negative" + voted comment like this discouraged newbie user greatly especially the negative vote to bargain post. It's tremendously hurtful m8.

I wonder the OP is TA or EC , perhaps different reaction because of favoritm?
      If it's JV….. perhaps neg rape ;)

  • +10

Good deal if someone gets away with it.
    + for OPs first post.

    • @cantstanzya Thanks

    • Wow, that's about right price i guess

  • +5

I just ordered, we'll see what happens.

    • -2

It will obviously be cancelled lol. Unless if they also happen to be stupid (Hope they are)

      • +2

Rather than sit and wonder 'what could have been?' Its worth a shot shrugs. Dell had to honour the incorrectly priced hard drives many years ago. Paid through PayPal, see what comes from them if this isn't honoured.

        • -1

If you say so a company like that can't afford to honour that price.

        • +2

Dell is a very rich multi national company with big profit margains on items so they could afford to take a hit. I don't think Techbuy on low profit margains can afford such a hit.

        • @hollykryten: Agreed, There is absolutely no way this can be honoured.

OP might of gotten lucky on his own still very unlikely, and after all of these purchases…

        • @hollykryten: They might sent you 1 instead of 8.

          Note: physical product may
          vary from images displayed.

    • Tell me of it gets honored or not lol

      • Got a order cancellation email 20 minutes ago. It was worth a shot lol

        • I have to say I'm not surprised.

    • +12

10 sets and you didn't even vote for the deal!

      • +1

There ya go… nice job man!

        • LOL, all good

      • lol… I ordered 2… Sad though.. Almost garaunteed they will cancel it.. Sigh… If only..

Perhaps someone not very bright will package the orders up tomorrow & send them out… FIngers crossed.. :)

        • You replied to a comment about someone not voting for the deal when you didn't even vote for the deal yourself. Tellingpeopletovoteception

      • How do you tell if certain people have voted for a deal?

        • The Green sqaure with a white "+" symbol (positive) or red square with a white "-" symbol (negative) icon will appear to the left of a persons username if they've voted on a deal.

        • @Baltoski:
          oh awesome. Thanks :)

      • It's called a Leecher / Passive man who rarely contribute, kinda like torrent leecher but involve dosh

    • +6

      Lol 10 sets!

      • +7

        Broden alert

    • -4

LOL if you suddenly get charged full price on those 10 sets and then you come back whining about it. Like what happened on that $8 pricing error rechargeable electric toothbrush from Harvey Norman online.

      • +1

Payment has already gone through. If they were to invoice for a larger amount after the advertised price has been paid in full, I would say that that would be fraud on their part. Either way I win ;)

In saying that, they are able to offer the item at the price they wish if the item has been incorrectly priced. That doesn't mean I have to pay it though. The debateable part is whether Paypal payment is deemed as a processed payment. If it is they are obliged under consumer law to honour the contract/sale.

        • +3

No they are not….pricing error and all that. This has been discussed at full length over the years already.

        • @Third_Gear:

          Wrong price
Where all units of the same item have been priced incorrectly or are scanning incorrectly at the register, the seller does not have an obligation to honour that price. In these circumstances, the seller is within its rights to correct the error at the register by offering you the item at the correct price (provided this is done before your payment is accepted).

A seller can’t attempt to correct the error or claw back any money after they have processed your sale and accepted payment, as the transaction (and the contract) is deemed complete at this point.

        • +6

There is no contract until the retailer accepts the order. At the moment it's just an invitation to treat and since it's a pricing error the store doesn't have to accept it they'll most likely not accept it.

        • @hollykryten:

This is where the line blurs. The money has left my account and is in their Paypal trading account, is that different to money in a cash register or money transferred? Not that I expect to receive them, it's a bit like lotto, gotta be in it to win it. I just find it interesting that a possible pricing error brings the trolls out, especially when someone tries to make the most of it.

        • @hollykryten: Exactly. All folks here have done is given tech buy a nice little cash injection for the week.

        • @mapleice:

          This isn't a B&M store.

Order isn't accepted until Techbuy manually processes the order and they can accept or decline it by the means of a refund. And it's possible that all that's been done is a Paypal authorisation hold which gets processed by the merchant and then finalised. Under that situation a payment hasn't yet been finalised.

        • @hollykryten:

You know, if you are going to whinge at least whinge with some facts. Techbuy IS a B&M store and a receipt for payment to techbuys' account is in my possession, I also have a status for the payment as completed.

I don't argue with trolls, so will leave it there.

        • +1

          @mapleice:

But this is the online store. Completely different from being inside the B&M store and paying through physical hard cash at the checkout. Once the retailer takes the money, confirms the order and then passes on the item to you then it's become a sale contract.

      • +1

You really have a grudge against people buying 'pricing error items' ey?

  • Ordered 1 set and paid via Paypal..payment after delivery…:-)

    • Did the same….worst case is they will cancel the order tomorrow….my money doesn't get hold up anyway.

  • +1

LOVE YOU OP, ORDERED IT FOR SHITS AND GIGZ!

    • +2

      you are welcome LOL

      • +1

SOOO PUMPED!!! LET'S HOPE THEY HONOR THIS, BLOODY AMAZING DEAL!!!

        • +1

lol post back here if they do

        • @punkman: DEFINATELY, HAHA. BLESS UP

        • +2

Ordered one for shits and giggles too. I didn't see anything on the websites terms and conditions about pricing errors =P

          https://www.lawanswers.com.au/blog/australian-consumer-law-r…

        • -1

lol yeah right, if they notice they will correct, this is just like that jeans west giftcards thing wasnt it $30 for a 200 gift card, they renegged

          Interesting though

"A seller can’t attempt to correct the error or claw back any money after they have processed your sale and accepted payment, as the transaction (and the contract) is deemed complete at this point."

        • +1

          @freebies8:

Dude you're hyper! What are you having, I wanna take that for "shits and giggles"

        • +4

@montorola: SOME DIM SIMS TO PREPARE MY DIMM SLOTS.

        • @punkman:Just got my refund… It was fun while it lasted haha.

        • @freebies8: How did you find out about refund? Mine is still processing in order status

        • -1

          @punkman:Check your PayPal account

    • Well done. I see that you did there

  • -3

Why not? The worst that can happen is a s… load of memory for friend and myself as well! Thanks OP!

    • +14

No, that's the best that could happen …

  • +2

Not that it is deliberate, but that is quite a good way for TB to get people to sign up or people's paypal details - better for them than giving out freebies/samples.

    • wow, if that's true….

      • -1

If thats true your getting a lot of negative votes =P

        • ╭(╯_╰)╭

        • +1

Looks like it's gonna be the OPs first and last post lol

        • @montorola: LOL, at least this trip was quick

        • @tgame: Stoner Sloth

    • You could also say that it's also a good way to get some quick credit for a few days before they refund everyone.

      • You may be onto something..

Don't bother with Payday advances just list a whole lot of expensive items on eBay at reduced prices. Collect a lot of PayPal cash, withdraw it and refund a few weeks later (saying you were out of stock). All you will be out by is the 9.9% eBay final value fee much cheaper than payday advances fees and interest.

    • How would Providing 900 dollar memory for 90 dollars be good for TB lol. Freebies/Samples don't cost that much.

  • +4

Here's hoping that the refund will be prompt as I don't even have a DDR4 capable machine.

    • same here…

    • -2

yeah, not a bargain when you have to upgrade youre whole pc lol

    • +1

Easy solution, buy 2 or more sets, hope they honour it, sell 1 and a half sets for $1200 or more depending on how many sets you purchase and build yourself the most kick ass skylake build.

  • +1

Wow 128 gig of ram, and I thought my 16 gig was half decent

    • Was thinking the same. Does anyone need that much ram or is this for multiple builds?
