  • I thought there might have been better deals for Back to School on wifi printers/MFC, but this is the equal best I could find.

We don't do much printing anymore and I thing our HP MFC drinks color ink just because it can. I figured at this price for small B&W print jobs we could put 3rd party inks in the printer without worrying about killing an expensive printer. Also the HP is then available for any good quality prints needed or when a cheap cartridge inevitably stuffs up.

If anyone has experience with this printer or similar ones at this price range I would be interested to hear.

    Canon MG3560 Printer $39 Pickup @ Coles

Nice, I might check out if my butcher sells a good wireless router to connect the printer…

    • perhaps you can ask your butcher to send you free meat wirelessly as well! lol

    • Nah you'll need to visit your green grocer for some apples

Even better, it looks like this model allows you to claim 2x FREE MOVIE TICKETS., though I'm not sure if Coles is considered an Authorised Canon Retailer…

Follow the instructions, Keep your receipt. Terms and Conditions say 'Purchase from authorised Canon Australia Retailer' however there is an option to select 'Other' from the 'Supplier' drop down box, etc, etc… Looks to be about ~6850 tickets left at the moment, out of a possible 7000 available. Might be worth a try??

    Terms and Conditions.

    • Coles wouldn't be selling them if they weren't. Certainly Westfarmers (Coles parent company) is as it includes Officeworks.

  • More important than the cost of a printer, is the cost of ink cartridges, and whether you can get cheap generic cartridges. Ink for these seems to me to be expensive.

    • Yes it looks like the options for 3rd party inks for the Canon are not good. Few options and not much cheaper than the originals.

Interestingly the HP 3630 allows printing in single cartridge mode. That is if the color ink has run out it will still allow printing in black.

Again though it doesn't look like there are many options for 3rd party inks.
