  • If you use a coupon code that is not listed on this site, rewards may not be payable

Rewards may not be payable if you pay by gift card or if you purchase a gift card

    • It would be $182.10 if you remove 2% cashrewards. Not $182.32
Cashrewards did pick up my purchase so it would take some time to verify payout

      • It would be 182.10 if you remove 2% cashrewards. Not $182.32

How do you get that? $197.10 * .925 = $182.3175 (though you actually would have to buy a $200 eGift card, you can't buy the exact amount @ 7.5% discount)

Cashrewards did pick up my purchase so it would take some time to verigy payout

Already confirmed with CR rep, coupon code isn't listed on their site so CB won't go through

        • sorry your right because your not spending the whole $200 gift card. :)

      • Hi zerog. Please note that even though you've received tracking from CR for your purchase, as the code is not listed on the CR site, pending payment may drop off your account in future.

        • HAha you might like to think its that smart.. but its not. used many codes not on cashrewards and got payed out.

I have the impact tool and it seems like a pretty good price of kit. Have to be very careful with trigger pressure. The thing can quickly put the screw through a fence paling then try to rip your arm off. Some of the more exxy gear has some sort off additional speed switch with would be handy.

    • I tried looking for an impact tool with a variable speed. But they are hard to find and the ones that do cost alot more $$$

      • This one does have a somewhat variable speed but it tends to go full speed very easily. This hasn't really been an issue in my use of it though. When it switches into impact mode it slows right down anyway.

      • I bought the ozito 18v kit 3 years or so ago (was at least 2) for 99 bucks (usually 199), Inc. Bag, drill, impact, saw, torch, 2 batteries, charger and bag. The impact drill is variable and has an nice easy range. I renovated and used this thing a fair bit, still going great

I was screwing some 10g screws into old reclaimed pressure fence pilings and supports, and if I didn't pre drill the hole I did find the drivers limit about 4-5cm in, but that was some seriously dried out wood. I doubt too many drivers would have it in them to go thought that

  • Grabbed this recently with a Groupon gift card (that was possibly mentioned previously on OzB?) and just used my 5% discount from having a Masters Trade card. Great set with plenty of power. Well worth it at that price :)

  • This looks like the Porter Cable versions before re-branding to Stanley. Can't be 100% sure though.

This is a good deal… I bought them before when they first came out and they're good quality tools with loads of power and excellent battery life :)

  • would be good to know where they where made, if they had plastic or metal gears, and how much torque that impact driver put out… Im in desperate need of areally good quality drill and impact driver, I just don't trust something that doesn't list all the stats.

Do some research! I did before I bought these and chose them over the similarly priced Dewalt and Bosch kits. If memory serves me well, these have an all steel gear set. I got burned once when buying an Ozito to replace an aging Makita cordless drill and it was rubbish.

I got burned once when buying an Ozito to replace an aging Makita cordless drill and it was rubbish.

You bought the cheapest drill in Bunnings and were surprised that it was rubbish? lol.

        • Yeah, how about that! (Don't think it was the cheapest however)
In it's defence it does function ok as a poorly balanced low-rpm drill.

        • What do you think of this new Ozito range then?

          http://www.ozito.com.au/c/63-power-x-change/s/121-power-tool…

5 year replacement warranty, 3 year on battery, seems like for being cheaper to get 5 years out of it might be worth it?

        • @yacman: Not sure about the new stuff but half the reason they have offer such a long warranty length because Bunnings receipts fade to nothing after 12 months so you have no proof of purchase to claim the warranty unless you scan/copy/photograph the receipt and most people just CBF'd.

Can't find the specs that I did when I bought mine so I take back the research comment. Was able to find a lot more about them once upon a time, not so much now. Happy with mine though. Would buy again.
Not so sure that it has the metal gears either. :S

From memory the impact puts out 180Nm and the drill is around mid 40s Nm. The Stanley hammer drill which only total tools have in a kit with the impact is 51Nm.

Compared to the Bosch green impact that I used to have and think was awesome at 130Nm, the Stanley just makes me wonder why I ever bothered to pre-drill anything. I've built my deck, pergola, steps, garage roof etc and they just keep going.

I admit I still do drool over some of the brushless Milwaukee gear but then I realise how much beer money I've saved.

  • +2

Pretty sure they do. Both drill and impact have similar Nm to premium pro tools plus their 3 year warranty appears to cover commercial use which says a lot about Stanley's confidence.

I bought the 4 piece kit when it was on clearance and couldn't be happier. Have even added a jigsaw since then. Only gripe is that I wished they had more than 1 led on these tools which create big shadows.

    • +1 for the username alone.

  • Hey I bought these for $239 minus 10% before X'mas. They are worth the money and I have built a deck using them, so I am not worrying about the $20 difference too much.

  • How do these compare to the DeWalt set from : https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/228751 ?

  • I'd rather get Dewalts. Stanley battery powered tools are very limited and finding the skins are quite hard.

But if you only plan on using these two power tools then it should be okay.

  • Picked up one with my dad last night, got the 10% off in store. Was plenty in Adelaide.

Have done a bit of research and while I know next to nothing about drills the following factors are swaying me towards this deal:

    • Good torque/rpm specs for the price (49Nm/180Nm on the drill/impact driver. In the same price range the Bosch is 38Nm/130Nm and Dewalt is 42Nm/170Nm)
    • 2ah batteries vs 1.5ah in similar prices kits
    • 3 year warranty from Stanley (You need to register online for this, probably worth while too in case Masters goes under)
    • Slightly cheaper if you use the gift cards than similar kits which are typically $199 when on special
  • Tried to order online using a mix of Masters and Wish gift cards, website timed out during processing of payment and subsequently got an email saying my payment was unsuccessful. I had tried to use up the remaining $9 on one of my old Wish cards which failed to process, but they have debited the remaining $188 from my my other two $100 cards already! Not a happy chap :/

Bought it from masters online before Xmas and was $239. Any hints how to get my $20 back?

    • Some credit cards allow you to do this

    Hi Charlie,
Masters price beats 30 days after purchase. So I believe you should be able to recoup your $20 or $40 (Todays price $219 + 10% discount amounting to $197).

To the rest, I recently bought the Ozito 18V Impact and Driver from Bunnings and luckily one of them died 1 week later.

My first post and thanks for comments and feedback on Stanley FatMax. Purchased Stanley FatMax pack today (Over Bosch, Ozito & WorK)for $197 from Masters.

Both impact and driver have a very strong sturdy feel not to mention the punch they deliver (compared to the same 18V Ozito I used previously).
