  • Has anyone used the SCA Club Plus Price guarantee yet (i.e. if an item goes on sale within two weeks of purchase you get the difference credited)? I bought a Century battery last night, and wondered if it's automatically credited.

    • it should be,just wait for it to turn up in account

Yes normally if you buy something in full price ( i know not an ozbargain way) you will get 50% credit after few days.

I have tired three time already although the discount is not 50%.

    • Yes I bought a century battery a couple of days ago, got a credit for the full 30% discount ($55.50).

It's pretty good really considering its all automatic, no need to put on claims ect.

Posted about this before but if you have a tyrepower near you, call them up first and check their prices - I've found them to be cheaper than SCA even when they have sales.

    • Sad I dont have one around.

    • I have found Honda dealer to be cheaper!

Wouldn't be surprised - supercheap is cheap in name only. It really pays to shop around.

$165 for the series: Century Car Battery - NS60(etc), 430 CCA.
They where $150-165 from memory. week 51 of 2015 when I needed a >400cca battery.
With 30% discount the price will be $115.50
That is pretty close to my local dealer, Atlas Batteries. though for that price they come out to you and fit.

I got the SCA club price difference, purchased a set of car seat covers for the missues and went on sale two weeks later and they refunded 70-80% of the difference, from memory that is, and confirmed $9.30 credit when the difference was $12.

You Also can use 5% woolworths giftcard to buy SCA gift card for another 5% off.

  • Just in time, was about to get one in next few days. Do any other stores (REPCO etc.) price match in case SCA are out of stock on the one I'm after?

For any Costco members out there, if you're on the hunt for a new battery Costco have the cheapest batteries you will find on the market. Made by Exide, it's their blue top range with 30 month extended warranty.

To give you an idea of price difference, the most common battery used in cars these days are the 55D23L. SCA price $175, Costco price circa $90 (last time I checked). Also the exide one has a higher CCA rating of 600 vs 540 for the century.

Source: Used to work for Marshall/Exide batteries.

edit: Anyone with any questions about batteries, fire them my way and I can help.

    • can u adviced if costco recycle the old battery?

      • Yes, batteries that are returned to Costco are forwarded to Exide/Marshall and recycled.

Bought Exide Endurance 55D23CMF with 30 months warranty from Costco Auburn for $99. Made in Philippines.

  • Seems it doesn't apply to any of the Hi Performance or Ultra Hi Performance range when I checked with them this afternoon. :(
