This is a nice deal. I foresee another 5-10% increase in computer prices this year if the predictions are correct and the AUD/USD rate falls below 65 cents.
If the Liberal government wins the next election, the GST will probably go up to 15%, so expect to pay more!!

Dell Store has this for 99 cents more for the i7 model. Can the Dell 5% cashrewards cashback work on this?

Agreed, the i7 model is actually cheaper direct from Dell's website after 5% cashback from Cashrewards. The downside is postage can take a week or so to arrive Vs walk into a JB Hifi and walk out with a machine 5 minutes later.

There's also a good deal on this model from the Microsoft store - the i7 model is $1299 after cashback, but with a 500GB hybrid drive rather than an SSD: http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msaus/en_AU/pdp/Dell-Ins…
(A 1% cashback ($15.99) is also available for hardware purchases from the MS store via Cashrewards)

The i5 model deal from JB Hifi is is $100 cheaper than Dell's own website or Dell's eBay store.

can we pull the screen become tablet (similar like surface book) or they only flips?

    • Flip it backwards to become a tablet. It cannot be completely detached.

Check reviews for this. Lots of issues with TouchScreen and TouchPad - phantom swipes. Both Inspiron 11 and 13 have this in their reviews. Otherwise the laptop looks great and the refurb prices on Dell Outlet site are excellent.

Have the i7 model. Haven't had any issues of that nature…..or any other nature for that matter.

      • Great! Did you buy brand new or refurb from the outlet. I usually go through the reviews on amazon and they made me skip this. Otherwise I wanted to buy the inspiron 11.

Bought one last year - I have too many laptops…
Haven't had any problems with the touchscreen or pad, although it does drop the bluetooth mouse when it goes to sleep.

  • I should have two codes available but only after have finished my bintang breakfast. Will be available to those in need

  • When I had a look at these in store I felt that the screen was a little dull when compared to the xps and spectre… Yes apples and oranges but just giving people a heads up.

    • +1

Posting from the i7 model and I can assure you the screen is a long way from dull.

  • How would the i5 model handle Adobe Premier? Anyone know?

If I have the option of this one and the HP Spectra X360 Rose-Gold Edition for $1600, which one should I go for?

  • Is the i5 model the the model with the stylus?

I had at a look in the store and yes it does have one

      • Thanks :)
Jumped on board and bought the i5 lastnight

        • Nice I got the i7
I love it! bought a screen protector for it, bit pricey but no other place does but I want it protected since it has a touch screen.

Yeah mine was delivered yesterday! Had an issue with the WiFi adapter, any of the USB ports, and Bluetooth. None of it worked. But I downloaded a bios update on my other computer, installed it on the dell and now it works perfectly! its definitely a speedy little machine
