you need to say "SSD" not just "SS" or people will all say "what bargain"

    • true i was thinking what a ripped off for a 500G portable usb drive

    • Haha sorry about the typo, fixed it :)

  • Does it really make a difference vs normal external hdd? As it's a external USB drive so won't run at max speed like it would if it was connected to the machine's sata interface.

    • Wrong comparison to make.

External USB 3.0: ssd vs hard disk

      Huge difference

I run virtual machines off this T1 mSata drive and I can tell you from personal experience.

      • Thanks. Guess the other question I should ask before pulling the trigger tomorrow is; is it reliable? In terms of the USB cable/connection being stable and not flimsy?

        • I use it to run a Windows virtual machine, through parallels connected by usb 3 to a Mac mini. For a small business windows server.

Very stable. Usb looks small and flimsy,I agree. But you can change to a longer cable which will reduce movement.

It has a software password protection on it which is annoying, but can be disabled.

  • C&C or delivery in title?

  • How to opt for delivery?
All I see is "In-store pick up only" / Click n' Collect.

    • It shows postage charges to me and you will get options to choose after you click on buy it now.

      • Just found out delivery only avail to small items.
I'm looking at TV / vacuum but no delivery, only in-store pickup.

  • Good price for the Samsung SSD, I got it for $7 cheaper during the HN 1/2 yearly sale for $232, but I had to use the $25 sign-up voucher to get that price!

  • What Samsung? I got 850 500gb for ~$205 a little while back

    • This is the T1 portable drive, not a bare SSD.
