Bought 2 of these last week using https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/225985 and https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/228794 making the price $82 at the time.

I think they are good choice considering all options and will be looking to get a couple more before Masters is no more.

Bunnings one is 200kgs weight capacity per shelf and 9mm MDF shelves. This one is 350kgs and 12mm.

I would pick Romak(Bunnings) for two reasons:
        * Bracing helps prevent rails from bowing. No bracing on Masters.
        * Flush top so you can place larger items on the top shelf.

Also having looked closely at both of these instore I would say Romak feels much sturdier - the Masters seems like a cheap copy.

I own both and these master ones are better quality. However I paid aprox 80 for them about a year ago.

I have to agree that the Masters ones are better quality. I needed a lot of shelves to store the beer for the volcano and these held up better than the Bunnings ones.

Also the bolts snap and align better when building them. Took me less time to built with the master ones.

  • Anyone know where i can get covers for these? I have one, but its cluttering up my mile

Yeah they are better than the bunnings version, solid as a rock, well worth it if I had more space to put them in my shed.

I need a bookcase for the garage to store my shoes. Any recommendations??

make sure you have a rubber mallet for putting this together or else make sure you have a good set of ear muffs! - my ears are still ringing!

  • Gees I wandered around Masters looking for bargains and 99% of items were full price and the discount stuff wasn't cheap….

Thanks OP. Just ordered Click and Collect. Easy.

  • For those with costco membership they always have a 99 dollar set that is similar but i believe a higher weight rating (500kg per shelf).

I have 3 lots of those and found them to be excellent quality

Just bought a Costco membership actually. I saw the shelves but didn't note the weight rating or shelf thickness. Very annoying that Costco doesn't have it's inventory online. Must be losing them loads of sales I reckon… any Costco Managers reading this? Most customers shop around. Got no problem with them charging a membership fee but how the heck are you supposed to remember every item they stock and specifications of each. I'm not going to drive 30 minutes to the store just to discover they don't stock an item or it's more expensive or inferior to a competitior's offering.

    • I saw the Costco ones today. Around 450kg per shelf. They are made from a hard plastic, not steel. Looks okay though.

      • Wow. 450kg per shelf with plastic? From memory they had a plastic unit for $59 similar to this $69 unit from Officeworks. Then they had a metal shelf which is the one I though Matt was referring to. But dunno specs or how much it was. :(

        • Yep, it was from the US and had the weight in imperial then converted to metric. Looked pretty strong. Was definitely $99.

      • no hard plastic in them. I have 3 sets. They do have a plastic set but its not the one i'm referring to.

There is also a commercial grade one for about 300 but they're very serious shelves

I bought one of these from Masters today https://www.masters.com.au/product/900003058/geelong-book-ca…

    $72 save $88. It's a clearance item so YMMV.

I haven't put it together yet but they looked ok on display.
