Optus SIM Only $40 / $60 Per Month. 12 Month Contract. 7 / 10 Gig of Data

91

Hi all,

Checked before i posted, not a dup yet.

Choice of 2 options.

Option 1:
- $40 per month
- 12 month plan
- 7 gig of data
- 300 minutes of international calls to selected countries.

Option 2:
- $60 per month
- 12 month plan
- 10 gig of data
300 minutes of international calls to selected countries.

Yes, there mat be some better deals at there. Ie. Vodafone at $40pm for 12 months with 10 gig of data. 90 minutes international calls to selected countries.

I think Telstra still has 10 gig for $60pm, with a 12 month contract.

I personally signed up to Optus about 6 weeks ago, 12 months for $40 per month with 10 gig of data.

Enjoy.

    $50 month to month

    http://www.optus.com.au/shop/mobilephones/SimBYO

    10GB data & 300 mins international

    • This is what i activated for my wife last night(1am) via Optus live chat.Sorry OP, not a bargain, $50 month to month is a much better deal

    • This is better so no deal on the $60/month 10gb. Since they were offering $40/10GB before as well, i wouldnt consider this the $40 a deal either. OP even said so himself as Voda offers better.

  • Can we still get the $10 Optus discount to make it $30/month?

Currently on $20/month unlimited calls, sms and 1GB data

    • How did you get 20$ a month unlimited calls and SMS and the 1gb?

      • Optus had certain promotions in the past year and a half. I myself got $20/mth with $200 calls, unlimited sms and 1.5gb data. Usual price is $30 but you get a $10 discount when bundling.

        • Thanks. I thought it was a current special or something. :)

  • Before 4 Jan 16, I got Optus SIM Only $40 Per Month. 12 Month Contract, 10 Gig of Data, 300 minutes of international calls to selected countries, unlimited local call & SMS.

With the TPG $10 off offer, I only need to pay $30 per month in first 12 months finally.

  • ozdavo is correct - why would one sign up to a 12 month contract for $10 more to get the same amount of allowances…

  • +1

Should still be able to get the 10gb for $40 asked a few weeks ago when the deal ended 4jan they said they can still offer it until 31st Jan, best to ask on chat before signing up to anything..

    • That's for 12 months sign up right?

      • Yeah 12month

  • I can confirm that the rep in (Burwood, NSW) said that the offer had been retracted to Jan 24th.

  • Last time optus switched existing plans to the new deal, this time their live chat is refusing to do the same.

  • Thanks OP. Most telco deals are for new customers only but this one applies to everyone. Changed from $45 Optus Sim Only month-to-month plan with unlimited calls and sms with 4GB of data to this plan to get additional 3GB of data. The reason I like Optus is that you only need to pay a once off payment of $5 to get an additional data sim to be able to share my phone data. I use these sims for the ipads.

    • I use that shared data sim for my ipad too and it's great. 2 days ago when I changed my wife's $99 plan to pre-paid(for 10 minutes only) and then to the $50 month to month Sim only(with 10GB of data)plan the Optus guy was insisted to sell me a share data sim card for $5/month with an additional …250MB to add to the 10GB!!! When I told him I was aware I can have a share data Sim for just $5 one off fee (without the 250MB extra) he shut up and didn't say a word.

      • Haha, great work. Can't say they don't try. A monthly fee is the reason why I haven't gone with another provider.

  • Brent:Hi, this is Brent, your Optus Sales Consultant, how can I help?
    Brent:Hi;
You:Hi, If I have an existing optus account (mobile & broadband) will I be able to switch to one of the newer plan deals without creating a new service?
Brent:Can I know which plan are you referring?
You:I'm on a sim only plan ($50) with the 8gb data and was looking to switch to the $50 10gb data one
Brent:I'm afraid you need to get a new number as the plan is only for new service…

    • Is your existing plan month to month? If yes just contact Optus and change your plan to pre-paid and once it's done contact them again and grab the deal you want.

      • Yeah but I've been told twice now I'd need to get a new number

        • Wife has been an Optus customer for more than a decade. Her last 24 month contact expired on the 16/1 and on that same day we contacted Optus and requested to pass to a(any) Pre-paid Plan. On the 25/1 at 00:15 she got a couple of Optus prepaid welcoming texts messages and I contacted Optus at 01:00 via the live chat from the Optus app and requested to pass to the $50 Sim only month to month plan(with 10Gb of data).8 hours later everything was up and running apart from the Optus app that wasn't updated and wouldn't display any info until the next day. Same Sim card, same number, no issues at all

  • Edit: wrong deal

  • This offer is still available till end of Feb, don't know why it's listed as expired just yet
