However, some stores still sells at original price of $25 or $18.28.

•Growing temp between 18-25 degrees
•Will grow in dark or soft natural light
•Make sure to keep moist but don't over water

You've just got to defend them from those pesky dragons and pink elephants right?

Anyone know what kind of total yield you'd get from this box? Interested but not sure if better value than just buying them from the shop.

18.28 at Albion Park store, not national wide clearance.

  • Does anyone know the expiry date for these kits? Plan to keep and only plant them in the winter.

  • How many kilograms if mushrooms do you get from a kit. You would want at least 2kg wouldn't you for the price of the kit?

    • depends on how well you grow them

      • On average then would get more than what the kit costs (especially the original price)?

you can't really look at it that way. it is the same as growing your own vege vs buying from supermarket. eg: broccoli can be bought at $2/kg while if you were to grow your own, will definitely cost you more than that. it is the fun, food safety, sense of accomplishment, etc that goes with growing your own stuff.

          @ykwon10: so, it's like a kid's toy

$12 at Masters Knox / FTG.

    Are these things edible?

    • +3

      the kit is not edible
the mushrooms you grow in it should be, unless you seriously stuff up

    • +1

sure, if you're that hungry to eat the kit

  • Website is Here From what I've read on other websites, you can get a better yield by following one of the many grow teks available on the Internet. This may need more work though, as you have to do things like sterilize the substrate yourself. The age of the kit will also affect yield.

  • Bought it for $5 from Masters Bibra Lake

  • Confirming Knox has a bunch of White Button and White Button/Portobello mixed boxes. I love this. I might upload a thread on the result.
