its a 3x3 dual band router… its ok, just not that exciting with ac1750+ being around for over 3yrs

No modem, router only.
I was almost going to buy this recently, but I heard something about they force you to use a Cisco online account to manage the router? I'd prefer just to log into the router as normal. This put me off.
Given that Linksys are now owned by Belkin I doubt that

I have the EA6500, it gives you the option of managing either locally or via online account…thankfully no lock-in! ;)
I have this, and there is no aspect such as that. I simply connect to the router locally using it's inbuilt I.P. Address. However to be fair, this wifi range is absolute trash compared to my modem router AC1200 dual band.
Bought the EA6700 for $99 delivered.
@edshays nah you dont need to.When setting up the router for the first time it gives you the option to update to the latest firmware - which i believe the the one where u manage the router online.I didnt choose automatic updates on mine.So its all managed locally.
U can open wrt on the Cisco Linksys EA4500.But its all cmd interface.And not easy to use as DD WRT. DD WRT is not supported on the EA4500 :( - least not that i know of since it uses the Marvel chipset.
I had this from a $99 Trifecta deal from Shopping Express. Okay performance but the range is disappointing.
