There are two types of people: people who get this joke, and people who don't speak Spanish or Portuguese

        Or Tagalog :-)

  • are they microwave proof?

    • Brilliant! My flatmate has this set and they're pretty good.
On the bottom of them are little symbols and by the looks of them, they are 'dishwasher safe', 'freezer friendly', and 'microwavable' up to 100 deg C.

      • I was just reading Tupperware microwave instructions and they said that they should only be heated at 50% power max.

  • Cheers, no idea if my microwave goes above 100c but I guess i'll find out!

    • It's not to much about the microwave, but about how hot the food/fluid in the Tupperware is heated. Even a crappy microwave should be able to heat something well over 100 degrees Celsius (especially oily foods).

Cheap containers are just that… Cheap.

Half the time container won't close properly, and if you do think you managed to close it, it will leak (if you have food with a bit of gravy).

    • have a set and its true. i only put solids in

Have a lot of IKEA products, so I'm not an anti-IKEA snob at all, but i thought I'd give a heads up that I didn't have a great experience with these.

I bought this specific set 2 years ago and found them to very cheap in build quality - lids don't form a very tight seal, containers warped, etc. I'd recommend avoiding them.

100% agree. They work, but they are pretty thin. Not terrible, but I wouldn't push their lives by microwaving food in them too often. (I think IKEA now also has a different range of containers that is even thinner… made me think they were pushing the limits of cost-cutting!)

      • The iIkea 365 range isn't thin and are quite durable. Also fairly cheap~ not cheap like this but still. They tend to have products in different price/quality ranges to suit the budget of many different people.

    • I had these, not air tight, used it for storing misc parts instead of food.

This is just a waste of natural resources, selling so many cheap stuff in a set at such cheap price. I bet half of the set would get lost, forgotten and thrown away, or worse occupying more space in the house hold.

what do you guys think of the Kmart version?
    http://www.kmart.com.au/product/10-pack-clip-containers/1233…

    • $16 VS $2
You tell me what you think?

      • But a one off payment of $16 for good quality vs repeated trips to Ikea to spend $2 due to poor quality. You'll soon spend $16 in Ikea because you have to keep replacing them.

      • i dont have access to the deal (in SA) so cannot vouch for the $2 bargain

    • Have some of those now. Comes in various colours. Very durable.

    • I actually have both the ikea and these kmart ones. Personally I would say the Ikea ones are fine for storing food in the fridge but I would never use them to bring food with me because the lids really don't go on on that tight. The kmart ones are great for bringing food for a lunch, picnic, whatever.

  • Can we use these as pots for plants? Pierce holes at the bottom?

    • Don't see why not. I've used the Samla (Smala?? Something along those lines…) boxes and the rainbow kids bowls/plates with holes drilled into them for plants and they work well. These might not be as durable but for $1.99 can't hurt to try!

  • Website still shows normal price…

  • Anyone saw this price in store? Not sure from where op get this price.
    saw it here

    • Yes, it's on in store.

      • Thanks, I just picked couple from Rhodes store. They seem don't care about the number people buying.
