    Don't buy … shutting down ….

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/217698

  • Will this last until the end of the year?

  • -1

It's cheap…but as far as I know TvPad 2/3 are obsoleted.
For TvPad4, their FB and forums saying it will be fine (said to be some legal things are sorted.),
just not sure how long it will last. Fingers cross for anyone going to buy this.

    • Why are the legal things sorted for generation 4 but not others? My parents have a tvpad2, it's a brick now, plays nothing at all.

    • personally, i never ever trust them, yes sure tvpad4 works now. Then next year, they will ask you to buy next version and tvpad 4 become unusable. They will pull out ANY excuse to get you buy new one and you can make any complain you want, they dont give a damm about it.
I have enough headache with the tvpad3, i would have throw it to rubbish bin if not because of my father in law.

      • Or an alternative, TVB Anywhere, http://tvb.com.au/tvbanywhere/
which is sold by TVB Australia, but down side is limited/no VOD (I assume?)

        • I own TVB anywhere box right now.
          There is video on demand.

Feel free to comment any questions you have about this box and will try to answer it

        • @useful:
          Price?

        • @useful:

They are serious for that price …. and I have to use my own Internet.

        • @superforever:

Then have fun keep hopping around the many boxes

  • For that sort of money you can get much better hardware

  • buying a future piece of brick for $236. I dont think so

  • Yep we had a 3rd gen which is a brick now, so is my friends Maige TV. Now we have to go on icdrama to stream TVB shows :(

  • My TVpad 4 which I bought early last year is still working, but agree would not risk buying a new one since they've already stopped supporting 1,2 and 3 as of a month or two ago.

  • I wont invest in any Tvpad waste of money .owned 1 tvpad2 and tvpad3. Brough 3 for about 1 year then die. Save your money for HTV.

Better off getting the new Apple TV and installing Kodi on it for that price… As others have said, it's very likely gonna be a piece of brick in the near future and they won'y help you when it does!

  • My Tvpad3 doesn't work anymore as they no longer broadcast anything. Sorry, I don't trust this company anymore and would not buy a Tvpad4. Don't support a company that doesn't support its existing customer base and now trying to make more money of us.

But don't take my word or opinion, just check out Tvpad Australia's facebook pages and expand the comments and you'll see alot of negative comments.

    This company is a scam

  • yes. my dad TVPAD 2 not working as well. even change the DNS! don't trust this company, that's only i can say

  • do not buy tvpad for reasons noted above, you are buying "regret".

  • Same here. All the old tvpads are bricks - would not spend a cent on this company

  • Pretty disgraceful store to still be selling this.

  • Its a closed environment they wil close down tvpad4 service just like they did with the others once they made their money out of everyone suckered into this.

  • pretty sure none of the pirate tvb streams would work anymore since tvb clamp down in favour of their own set top box solution, as far as i know vpn or unblocker/smartDNS still works fine.

  • @Futo Online/rzrz - yeah right, trying to offload your stupid brick-to-be tvpad huh? Good try, but nah…
