To skip the queue. So no ordering and then waiting in line.
I do that every day and have been for years. It's even worthwhile while your standing 2nd in queue to even just skip the person ahead of you, let alone from around the corner
If you do something every day, you'll get the timing right after like 2 weeks.
It's incredibly convenient to be able to arrive at the cafe the moment they're done making your coffee, no exchange of money just pick it up, say thanks then walk off.
Sure, but cafe have surges and lulls. Its not a constant workload. Note also that during busy phases there is an upper limit to the number of coffees that can be made depending on the number of baristas and machines. Ordering sooner may not be an advantage.
Ordering five minutes before you arrive might result in perfect timing one day, and cold coffee the next, therefore to be any use, you need to know the current conditions including wait-time before you place your order and to do that, you probably need to be there in person.
That's also very true, but you'll adapt to those as well, unless you go for coffee at a random time every day.
