  • Got the last one at Omnom. Thanks.

  • Wish this was for plain color 3DS, or Majora's Mask themed one.

(though Nintendo have not learned from Apple's experience circa 2005 about the upside down logo)

    • It's a very nice skin, it isn't very obviously Animal Crossing themed either. Though it could be a bit cutesy for some people I guess.

A BIT cutesy? I want to vomit.

I have 4 3ds/xl/news. IE: I'm dumb and buy lots of them. I wouldn't buy this.

Majora's mask coming out in end of March

      • That's the Hyrule edition….

  • This is a great deal. The cheapest I've seen it before was $220 and my daughter paid $250 to get one at Xmas time.

It's a very nice looking model and if you're thinking of upgrading from a regular 3DS I highly recommend it, the bigger size is amazing, you'll never want to go back (and the extra battery life is great too).

Does anyone know if this stock (or any other stores) uses IPS top screen panels? http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=156553933&pos…

I think the IPS issue is overblown. I bought quite a few blue and charcoal new XLs during the Target sales and freaked when the reports of TN / IPS games being played so I tested them all. I have more TN than IPS, but keep in mind that there is slight strobing on IPS even though colours are more saturated and rich. As far as better viewing angle? By the time that makes a difference the 3D effect has warped everything anyway.

My final decision is to play Mario 3D Land, Pilot Wings on old XLs and Zelda Type games with subtler palettes on the TN machines. TBH I'm a fanboy of the original 3DS and XL due to superior build quality and joystick feel.

      • Thanks for the information. Very informative and good to know before I consider buying. :)

  • Keybrogt Vic got 2 left,

  • hi all,

Does anyone know if the cover can cover off or if interchangeable? good price but ungly cover.

    Cheers
    Dan

    • The normal size one has the interchangeable plates. The XL does not, unfortunately.

      • thanks heaps!!!

      • you can remove the bottom cover, if they sell designs then u can do bottom covers.

    • if u buy a clear case, you can print and insert your own covers

  • Do we get the full version of the game with the included download code?

  • Anyone still managed to get price matches from this last deal?

    Edit: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/229743

    • Yeah I tried a couple of days ago at JB, no luck. I'm gonna see if they'll price match this but get the black one instead.

Reporting in. Had success with getting a price match from the previous deal from JB Hifi.

Rejected at the first jb I went to. I was sceptical that it would work because I witnessed the slickest salesmen in the world selling a kid extended warranty and some other stuff for his DS purchase.

Tried another store using the photos of the Harvey Norman price and then one of the receipts posted in the other thread. Managed to get price match but I also suspect it's because I was making a few purchases because the manager asked if I was looking to buy anything else before she agreed. Bought an XL, a small, and two games (also price matched).

If anyone goes out and try this, I really recommend that everyone be really nice to the sales staff. Not only will it likely increase your chances of getting a match but it won't ruin it for others or for yourselves at the next deal. If you get rejected, just be polite and thank them and try another store.

Don't give up! And play nice!

        Cheers

  • This is a pretty good deal @ $199 if you're after the 3DS XL. Flog the download code and Amiibo card for an additional discount if the game isn't your cup of tea.

Sadly, there's not a lot of stock around so getting a price match might be difficult. I called a few Big W's and many were out. Ended up driving 30 Km to pick up the only one I could find.

RE: the girly-looking design, you can get full-case decals for around $7.00 or like @tyler.durden suggested, buy a clear case and create your own.

  • As of lunchtime Friday, there is one remaining console on the Gold Coast (West Burleigh BIG W).. I chose not to get it because I can't find the time to play it.

  • So want but not the design lol

    • If you can find stock then just do it. You'll get over the design - it's really not that bad

  • I bought the last one at Forest Hill. There was no price listed so i had to scan it to find the price. Thanks OP :) .

  • Managed to get JB HiFi to price match which was good!

    • that's awesome, I tried JB they said Big W price was too good and the best they could do was $249. Lucky i managed to find one.

  • There's one at Chermside Big W even though the website says no stock
