  • Please put some models in the title, and the business's name.
Specs are not bad, but not sure how good the image on these is. Warranty seems decent, but refurbished is always a gamble.

    • You could've put the store name in ;) (before you wrote that)

        There's a delay before I can edit :(
Was trying to teach "good practice" rather than "move aside, I'll do it!". But in the end I caved in :)

$130 delivery for a 40 inch takes the shine off.

  • I'm sure Aldi and their Bauhn brand had 58" 4K TV brand new for $899, so a referb Soniq brand … I'd go yeah, nah.

    • I'd go yeah, Nah. But its the same but different.

$249 for 40" FHD is not bad for pickup.. $50 for shipping kills it though ><

    • this is now $239

  • Soniq tvs are rubbish. Will not buy again. Add to that these are refurbs, probably meaning they were returned faulty to be fixed.

  • Yet another otherwise quite respectable deal killed by exorbitant shipping! :/

  • I've tried Soniq a couple of times before, would not recommend. At least if you buy Soniq via. JB Hi-Fi JB will not give you any trouble with returns, but dealing with Soniq directly is an absolute nightmare. About a year ago there was a deal on OzBargain for refurb Soniqs and they basically threw most of them into boxes without adequate packaging and those who got them in one piece found that the TVs were full of issues anyway, basically they were returned for a reason and they don't do anything to them then try and sell them again as "refurb". Dealing with the company to get a refund was a nightmare. Avoid at all costs.

Why did you ignore all the warnings about this disgraceful company and refurbished goods in general?

With the exception of Apple, I just laugh when people buy refurbished crud and get majorly screwed over.

      • I didn't know they were disgraceful before this happened. I had a bad experience with a Soniq TV once before it, I took it back to JB without any dramas so I didn't hold it against the company.

I have heard that with refurbished goods, generally, the manufacturer puts more effort into them to making sure they work properly because they don't want them coming back again, and also might replace it with some parts of a later revision which is more reliable. But with Soniq they simply don't give a crap and will happily ship a broken TV without even checking what was wrong with it.

I've never had an issue with the 42" Soniq refurb we have and it still has about 2 months warranty left!

    Looking at upgrading though. Thoughts?

Bought the 50" Soniq refurb for the parents, first one arrived with a cracked screen, 2nd one but didnt work, then they didnt have any left and we just got our money back. Although we didnt get a good tv, they were at least easy to deal with regarding returning and refunding
