What is Quick Charge 3.0 & VoltIQ?

Quick Charge 3.0 is Qualcomm's new standard for charging. It's designed to charge twice as fast as Quick Charge 1.0 and 38% more effiencent than Quick Charge 2.0. VoltIQ is a technology that is able to detect the charging protocol used in the device to provide the fastest possible charge without the risk overheating, overcharging, short circuiting etc. VoltIQ does not charge as fast as Quick Charge, but is fully compatible with all devices.

    Can anyone confirm this is compatible to fast charge Microsoft 950/950XL at 3A?

    The 950/950XL does NOT support QC3.0 (or even QC2.0). So does the usc type c port on this support the usb3.1 charging standard (in addition to QC3.0)?

      Yes it does. That's why I listed Type-C and QC devices separately.

      Reviews on Amazon mention that it's compliant. Benson Leung has reviewed several Type-C cables from Tronsmart and said they're compliant as well.

        however, it looks like the bundled cable is USB 2.0 type-c. is my understanding correct that a USB 3.1 type-c is required for 3A charging? (having a look on amazon for the USB2.0 version of the cable, one of the reviews talks about the cable not being able to support 3A).

      A lot of people don't like them as the QC port is unusable if the cable breaks. I have the standard 2 port on sale that includes a micro usb cable here
