      when was the 4 released?

      After the third.

    • +2

26th of Oct 2015. Too early to talk about a 5.

I reckon he/she should wait for the 6. I heard it will come with a more powerful system than the 5th.

  • Would this cover work on Surface 3? (not Pro model)

    • Yes I'm using it on my Surface 3 but the alternate typing angle won't work & it looks a bit weird when closed

      • Thanks, but can you elaborate on what you mean by "alternate typing angle wont work"? Like it wont work when using at a certain angle?

        • +1

There's magnets on the edges that are supposed to clip onto the bottom of the screen so you can type at an elevated angle for cramped conditions. But since they don't work (magnets aren't long enough) you can only use it in its flat position

        • @backslashio: Ah okay, thanks

Compatible with SP4 if looking to save some money?

    • +1

      Yes it works fine

    • +1

it is but I just got the pro 4 keyboard from the pro 3 keyboard, its a whole new world! would encourage the upgrade for $100 or so extra

      • +2

        $145 upgrade you mean <_<

        • I got mine for about $160 or somewhere around there with student discount :)

        • +2

          @yellowrhino93: $160 with student discount? God dang that's expensive…

        • @yellowrhino93: Ok that's fine if you're a student but many of us aren't :P $175 is about the best with the HN newsletter voucher. Still very expensive for a keyboard

        • @backslashio: They do the $178 for pro 4 keyboard which can be reduced to $153 with $25 voucher. That is how I got my pro 4 keyboard. Great upgrade over pro 3 keyboard.

What is this student discount? Can we get student discount from harveynorman?

        • @dadeadman:
Easier to get student discount via the Microsoft Store website with verified email address. Guess if you show a student card in person it might work - never done it before

        • @backslashio: So it cant work online with harvey norman. $25 off is mostly better than 10% off.

  • Guess HN saw the $60 deal! These were $80 when I posted the $60 JB post

Slightly annoyed but oh well, its $5

  • Just got one. Their inventory system shows them as 80 still… Had to show them the website for them to honour the new price

  • Now if HN were to also do a really good deal for the SP3 to go with the cover ……

    • SP3s are being phased out on the quiet. MS online store only has the i7 SKUs (15% off with free type cover atm), JB and HN dont have any SP3s on display now in Chadstone either.

  • Does this work on the original surface pro?

    • Don't think so…the Surface Pro 1 and 2 are smaller (10.6 inches) than the SP3 and SP3 (12 inches or so)

    • +1

Yes it does, it just won't work in the alternate angle & it'll look a bit weird when closed due to the size difference

  • really cheap

  • Will this work on the first Surface RT model…..can't find answer on Google?

    • Read the other comments before posting! :P

Me 2 lines above: "Yes it does, it just won't work in the alternate angle & it'll look a bit weird when closed due to the size difference"

      • Read the question before posting! :P

  • Just picked one up! (ordered last night) Old one was getting a bit ratty. Tried out the SP4 keyboard in store, couldn't see $150 worth of difference. Very happy with this new one - extended the life of my SP3 until they figure out how to Surface Book properly. Thanks OP.
