i would caution anyone buying without warranty, my Power magic pro was DOA, and blackvue front cam died at the 6month stage.

    • this site doesnt provide local AU warranty yea?

Please post the correct (Australian) cost in the title. Not Misleading in USD.

    Better buy xiaomi yi dvr
same lens using in go pro
Good quality and cheap as well

    • The Xiaomi looks quite good. If only there was a 4 channel version at 1080p per channel.

Except it has a battery, and unless you live in the cooler parts of Australia, good luck with your lithium ion battery on a 40 degree day.

If you will be using it as a dash cam why would you even care about the battery? Dash cam need to be always connected to power source as battery will give you max 30-40min. Im using Xiaomi yi as a dash cam and i really like it especially the wifi feature where i can transfer videos easily. The bad thing is you must turn it and press the recording button on every time you use the car.

        • Argh why can't they make design it to auto record lol

        • If you will be using it as a dash cam why would you even care about the battery?

cos i need it to be running when i'm parked as well. my dashcam gets 3 hours recording time when running on battery

        • The battery is always operating. Lithium ion batteries plus our heat in Australia causes the batteries to balloon and sometimes explode. Most people in Australia buy dashcams with capacitors instead of batteries.

You really should educate yourself with your markets.

        • @tdw: You can still record without a battery running off your main car battery, you just need to use something like the Power Magic Pro to cut the power after a certain time/voltage drop.

        • @richie83: i can't risk draining the car battery. had problems recently with something in the car draining it. went through 2 batteries(!) in 2 years

        • @tdw: That's why you use something like the Power Magic Pro, it cuts of at a set voltage, usually for most cars in Australian climate you want to cut it off no less than 12.2V.

      • my nokia bl-5c batteries survive perth summers just fine.

not sure about this product looks pretty pricey to me. i ended up buying this,

    http://www.gearbest.com/car-dvr/pp_113549.html

works great been using it for a while, i know gearbest is banned here regardless i had a good experience so far.

they also have more recent models,

    http://www.gearbest.com/car-dvr/pp_138841.html

thought someone might find this useful.

    • have had issues with gearbest earlier, I made 2 purchases in the last 6 months or so with timely delivery and good communications, maybe worth a try for the above camera, like the mini 0806 when the price is better.

  • thought someone might find this useful.

As long as they can find it somewhere other than gearbest

  • This deal has expired.

What are the best local prices and what are others using instead of the Power Magic Pro?
