  • I really like my ASUS X205TA with very similar specs which can't be found as cheap now.

      • That was the best deal ever, waiting for another deal like this.

      • The Acer is a pretty different product. The Lenovo is half the weight and with a 14" display on the Acer I would personally prefer/want higher resolution but it yeah it was a good deal.

        • I already have ASUS T100, HP 15.6" and an old Dell XPS 13.3" laptop, do I still need this?

        • @superforever: Need? Nah. Want? Maybe. I've been reaching for my X205TA a lot as my go-to Internet browsing notebook on the couch at home and short trips out for its feather weight and long battery life until I feel the need to use a mouse or more screen real estate.

        • @samlor:

This one is really light and it is the only advantage over what I have and a bit larger than T100.

BTW, the red one also the same price now.

        • @superforever: Yep, it's real light. Same weight or lighter (the X205TA is even lighter I believe) than the T100. I also have a T100 but hardly ever used it because I find it a bit too small for a device with a keyboard - given other choices. Wonder how much I could sell the T100 for.

        • @samlor:

too small for a device with a keyboard

Yeah agreed. I rarely use it as a tablet and I found my phone is better when I need touch screen.

But only 32GB storage not much left after Windows.

        • @superforever: Yep, totally.

I hardly store anything locally and have had no issues, you could expand storage with a microSD card or (physically small/low profile) USB flash drive like the SanDisk ultra fit.

The Lenovo has a full size HDMI port where is the X205TA is micro.

I wonder how it will go with Windows 10. Because the storage and everything is not upgradeable/removable I am holding off on the free upgrade until I can confirm it does not reduce performance/usability.

        • @superforever: One more thing in case you didn't know, unlike the ASUS X205TA, the Lenovo 100S touchpad apparently does not support multi-touch so no two-finger scroll which I find really useful, almost essential these days. All-in-all reviews suggest the display is slightly better on the 100S but I reckon the X205TA is slightly better in most other ways though it can't be bought as cheap now.

        • @samlor:

Do you know what type of touchpad? Is it synaptics? If no multi-touch I reckon it is not.

        • @superforever: sorry don't know but you should be able to check/research.

On which planet is that screen High Definition?

    • +1

They use to call 720p Hight Definition years ago.

  • No blue ….

Silver out of stock but can back order.

    • i got a red one from harvey delivered yesterday

  • Anybody want the white and blue you can get it from officeworks for $244.

    BTW, this deal expired.

Got one from Harvey Norman with price match to the OW deal. Thank you. Pretty nice machine. Installed Office365 and Chrome and still plenty of space left.

I'm wondering if anyone got multitouch working. Found some instructions at Lenovo forum but still struggling to get it work. Just note that the touchpad is an I2C device. I managed to install the Synaptics driver but the mousepad menu still shows the old one. Sigh.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

    • Are you aware that the 100 referred to in the forum link appears (confusingly) to be a completely different model to the 100S?

      • No. :( I was just hoping that it will work.
I can see that its using the synaptics driver but still no multitouch. Oh well, back to using a mouse.
