Nutri Ninja Slim 700w, $69 at Coles Burwood (VIC)

110

Long time lurker, first time bargain posting.

Just picked up a NutriNinja Slim 700w blender for $69 from my local 24hr Coles in Burwood, Vic. Not sure if at others, not on the Coles website.

Been waiting for these to go on sale for a while.

There were about 150 units stacked up when I left. Grab em while you can.

    thats some serious stock
Woolies would usually have 5 in stock and the only thing remaining would be the price sign

  • Is this the base model? Approx $10 cheaper than elsewhere?

  • Not sure why you would spend $69.00 on a Nutri Ninja when you can get this -
Russell Hobbs Colour Control Blender $27 (Was $99.95) @ The Good Guys

    • Coz it doesn't have Ninja in the name. A name like Russell Hobbs would put anyone to sleep.

when you can get this -

That's just a blender, they're not the same product and produce different results.

    • Because you have been misinformed by marketing that certain blenders make food more nutritious. Usually there is some idiotic link between how powerful the motor is and vague references to supposedly higher nutrition that is (of course!) more natural than using another blender.

This is not done with words but rather images and sound which bypasses people's ability to be rational and so the ill-informed spend a few hundred dollars than they need to on a blender which does nothing at all different to any other blender. We are after all talking about a device that bashes food, there is no secret way to bash food that is more nutritional.

      • I would definitely go for a higher wattage. If you are just blending fresh fruit then sure, go for the sub 500 watt. But if you think you'll regularly blend ice and frozen things then having a stronger motor really pays off

    • Usually I would agree with you, but it comes down to the blades. The normal entry level blenders like the Rb have these flat little blades so often they end up just spinning their wheels at the bottom of the jug while the great mass of fruit or vegetable or whatever stays unblended.

With the more elongated blades on the bullet blenders, I find that they produce some kind of cyclonic action or whatever and you end up blending your crap more easily.

I don't buy into the bs about them being able to unlock fruits at the molecular level or whatever, but they do have their uses.

    • I think its more the convenience factor. Bullet shape blenders tend to be for single serving, so they are lighter and easier to clean. Thats probably something thats important if your on some sort of fancy daily juice diet..
