  • Yep great price other stores selling it for $35 - $99.

  • +1

Bah! Just bought the Target branded one for $29….! Although, used it twice already and it's pretty decent so far

  • +2

I've gone and checked out the reviews on productreview. They're not very promising.

    • +4

If you're just going to use it occasionally then this one should do the job, if you want one to use every day then you really should fork out some proper money and get something with serious balls.

      • +1

Been blending frozen bananas and ice and water to a reasonably thick mixture in one of these regularly (nearly daily) since December. Worked ok so far with no issues.

        • Will this work similar to something like nutribullet ?

I just want to make smoothies . Will this suffice ?

        • yeah i tried to get one when big w had them on sale but I missed the boat. This is such a good price, I pulled the trigger straight away. Good to hear that you've been putting it through its paces.

        • better than the nutribullet which I have gone through two sets of blades in 4 months due to frozen bananas

        • -6

@dudebargain: I honestly don't know what the appeals of smoothies are. I, for one, much rather prefer the texture of the fruit.

        • @slipperypete:
Can you buy spare blades for the Nutibullet?

        • +1

          @-.-:

isn't that one of the main purposes of these blenders ?

I guess it is just easy to blend different kinds of vegis/fruits and drink them all at once.

        • does it come with additonal blades or just one? specifically the ones with cross double blades…

        • @SamR:

Yes you can both in some stores and on ebay
          nutribullet blades

        • +2

          @-.-:

          Personal opinions I guess.

Your opinion to me is like saying I don't get the appeal of beer. I for one prefer munching on hops ;-)

        • @-.-: I'm ALL about the homemade smoothies, but they are FAR from being as healthy as we think. There's a lot of science out there, pointing to the excess amount of fruit we're having in one hit - And that we're not getting all the benefits, due to it being blended… as opposed to chewing, which produces enzymes etc.

          Ask Dr.Karl :D

      • I agree. We have had one for a 18 months used once or twice a month. Was going to spend 500+ to buy a good one but for the use that it gets its fine.

      • Really? It seems to me the overpowered ones break at a much higher rate than something not claiming to smash nutrition out of food or whatever guff you people will swallow.

    • +1

I'm guessing you're referring to this?

I wouldn't think 3 out of 5 is that bad to be honest for $27. Searching on google I think this is the same thing except it's in the UK but reviews are quite decent?

    • +1

Are you sure you're looking at the right product? I can only find one review for this particular blender and it's not bad.

  • +2

Got one, was looking for a product around that value. I had a store credit of $20 from a recent purchase i did. Came down to $7.
    Thanks

  • +1

    Nice.

    1.5 litre glass jug

    So awesome.

    • +4

Big jugs are good, not sure why you would spend more on those nutri whatever blenders.

      • +21

        Not everyone loves big jugs.

        • +8

Any more than a glass full is a waste?

        • Big jugs or GTFO I say!

        • They dont lie.

        • anything more than a handfuls a waste

  • +2

$2 cheaper than Big W last month

  • +8

What a surprise that someone found a bad review on a blender… honestly you can find bad reviews on any blender you can think of including those $500+…

It looks pretty solid and a couple of owner recommendations from folks on here should be all you need to part with your $27

    Nice deal.

    • +1

so true, people don't like the weight or the jug is too big/small, or they don't like the suction cups on the base. for 27 dollars there isnt a better blender..

  • +18

    "Blendinator advanced blending technology"

This is how it all starts, and years from now Skyblend will rise up and control all the blenders, eventually leading to the destruction of the human race…

    • +2

We will all have our nutrients extracted into a red pulpy mess and fed into robots as liquid fuel

      • SkyBlender is here to help ! come to your kitchen bench top in your house… power point required, fruits sold separately…

  • I've personally got one of these, http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/sunbeam-cafe-series-2l-blender…

While I think I paid $200 for it, I picked it due to the power of the motor 2000w is so much better then the sub <1000w blenders plus you get a better consistency when it comes to smoothies,

I'd still beg to differ when it comes to this particular blender, but I'm sure at the end of the day this one on offer for $27.99 will probably require more pulsing etc

Reviews on this one here, http://www.productreview.com.au/p/russell-hobbs-rhbl1.html

    • +2

That review link you supplied is for a different blender.

    • +5

      $200 vs $27

I don't think anyone here would argue that a blender over 7 times the price would (and should) do a better job…
Just doesn't seem relevant to this one being a bargain.

    • -2

2000w is so much better then the sub <1000w

If saving 2 seconds is what makes things much better for you so be it. You're not saving electric power by running it for a shorter time. 2000W lel.

  • Nice. For $27 I'm pretty happy. Even expensive blenders have their issues.

  • slow ………site ;(

  • does it come with additional blades?

  • +1

There was a sunbeam pro blender (900 or 950W) in Woolworths I saw the other day on special for about $34. I have no idea how it compares to this one though.

  • Done and done, thanks OP.

  • Thanks OP! - Got one for myself :D Cheers!

  • Don't forget cashrewards (1.25%) and buy it from ebay store.
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Russell-Hobbs-20230AU-Colour-…

    • Good thinking, but their shipping costs are about $4-$5 more…

      • You can also pick up from store for free :)

  • +2

Andddd I bought a second blender. I don't even know why

    • +1

      Ozbargainer problem!

    • Makes a great, and very cheap, Christmas gift, if you don't get around to needing it yourself :)

    • Wise use of your mone, congrats (to the store that sold it to you).

  • +3

    Will it blend? :)

    • -2

Some people seem to think it doesn't because it's missing a pointless 2000W motor so I'd totally listen to them and spend 1000% more on a blender.

      Actually no I wouldn't.

  • +1

I have one great blender used every day handles ice and frozen banana for $28 it's a steal

  • was looking for a blender.perfect timing. thanks OP.

  • Will be visiting my local TGG soon for one.

  • Bought two thanks! FYI Good Guys Belmont WA is sold out and must have been ozbargained because there was a trolley load of just blenders for click and collect.

  • Cheers OP. Just picked one up from my local TGG, there were 3 in stock which are now all sold/being held.

  • good deal. I've already got a 1.5L and its abit hard washing it under the sink.

    • +3

Try washing it in the sink. This recently discovered revolutionary new way of washing kitchen items is not known about by very many people but once youtry it you will NEVER go back to washing under the sink again - it's that much more convenient!

  • Thanks so much OP :) Bought one for myself - it's a good brand at a great price (especially at $27, it's a bargain!)

    • -2

It appears to be a white label product if the previous poster is correct (as so many branded items are - the brand is meaningless other than our carefully managed perceptions of it) meaning it's only as good as all the other brands that are selling exactly the item barring a different brand label.

  • +1

About 6 left at the Hyperdome store in Tuggeranong, ACT.

  • is it still worth it if delivery is $8?

    • I think it is still worth it considering you can get a sunbeam at Big W for around 50ish

  • Mine is already broken after using twice for a total of 2 minutes running.

    • What….

      :/

  • Had a bit of that electric motor burning smell the last time I used it and now no worky. 2 minutes of blending tops, more likely 90sec.

  • Special price extended until 7th March.

  • +1

I bought one of these and it has been very underwhelming. I've only been trying frozen fruits + ice into smoothies but it has been a constant struggle. None of the ingredients fall on to the blade naturally, so I have to blend for 5 seconds, stop, mix the ingredients around, and repeat. On top of this, it is the loudest blender I've used by far.

    Pros:
    Cheap
    Comes with glass jug
    Has speed settings

    Cons:
Doesn't blend frozen fruits / ice
    Extremely loud

I'd recommend a Nutri-Bullet and even the George Foreman Mix & Go (only around ~$30) as a much better alternative, especially for regular use. I think this blender is only good for making purées and sauces.

  • 2 poor reviews recently posted. Any good reviews? I have yet to pick mine up. Now having second thoughts.

    • What made you decide on the RH over the Sunbeam given the Choice reviews you stated earlier?

      • +1

I cancelled the order. Still have an unopened Ninja IQ from Bing Lee deal last year

        • Lol nice hoarding.. true ozbargainer ^^

  • +2

Just picked one up today. Gave it a test run and it's awesome, plenty left at Bankstown's store so thanks OP. Comes with a 2 year warranty so no need to worry if it breaks down before then. I don't see this being a 'lifetime' blender like the $750+ Vitamix's and Blendtec's but for my uses of daily smoothies and protein shakes, I'm content that it will serve it's purpose well and for a long while.

  • When did it change to 27? I bought it at 29.95 :(

  • There's a Sunbeam PB5000 (600W) multiblender at target for $24.50 (tagged at $35 but there's a further 30% off clearance in appliances). Also plenty of George Foreman GRP10 Convertible Easy To Clean Grill and GFBL4000AU Mix&Go XL Blast both for $76 ($109 less 30%). Not sure if they're a good deal or not.

  • Just ordered mine click & collect.

I already have the matching kettle.

  • 20% off ebay now.

    • Yep, comes down to $21.60 now. Prob not much stock left tho.
