This deal has already been posted here
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/234973

    • that deal is for $40 vouchers and it's expired

      • Deal is still working for me. And is for 2x $20 vouchers

        • Deal is showing 2x$20 for $40.In any case $20 for $15 is a different, better deal :)

      • +2

But admit it…. besides those simple things it is exactly the same :) (sarcasm included).

    • +4

Might be worth adding that credit expires 11/16 and not the usual 1 year as explained in earlier post.

      • Dam, i didnt realise this and order it a few hours ago.
I looked into it the other day and i read that credit doesnt expire, it must be the other cards you buy retail or something.

  • Can above be used to buy device (chromecast) from google store?

    • +3

No, credit cannot be used to buy hardware.

    • +2

      No,and credit expire on 1/11

  • Is there any loopholes / deals that people can use their Google Play credit for besides apps? Any subscriptions? Netflix? Hulu? or something else? I'm not much of an app purchaser, i pretty much have everything i need with the free stuff. But would be interested in using the credit for something else?

    • +1

I believe you can use it for subscriptions like Google Music and others. As long as the service bills you through the Play Store.

  • +11

Why would anyone buy this instead of a $30 Telstra sim which you can regularly get for $5-$10?

    • Because not everyone wants to use Telstra service.

Having said that, I still have over $700 credit in my Telstra prepaid account, so I don't need to purchase any of these Google Play credit.

      • that must be phone credit (telstra funny money) you cant use that on google play store. you can only use main credit on google store. Correct me if am wrong, you can only use $20-$30 main credit at a time and $100 main credit max from what i know,. Also it doesnt work at all for in app purchases.

        • +1

Correct, it is the recharge phone credit I have accumulated over several years, not the bonus call credit.
The maximum credit that you can purchase at a time has been increased from $20 up to $100 now.
It can be used for in-app purchases too, as long as those in-app purchases can be bought with normal Google Play credit.

        • @edfoo: oh nice to know. thanks

        • @erroorfree:

Yep, just confirming I've also used Telstra (pre-paid) credit for in-app purchases through GP.

If only more developers allow it!

Edit: I also currently have $151.83 Credit to use in the Play Store.

This is not CapCredit, it's the Main credit, as you refer to it.

I had over $200 last year.

    • +1

How do you do this if you're on post-paid?

      • Change SIM Cards or use another phone with the same Google account.

    • +2

And you also have to activate those by inputting all your personal details, supply ID and then wait for the SIM to be activated every time you want to use it. Bit of an inconvenience. And isn't there a limit to the amount of SIM's you can activate?.

      • +2

I've never triggered the sim limit. There's no good reason to buy credit instead of sims when sims are cheaper

        • Can you point us to a deal right now for the Telstra sim?

        • +1

@atlas: check Harvey Norman, 711, target, big w, kmart, Coles and woolies in that order.

        • @tomkun01: Yes I know - pretty sure none of them have it on special atm.

        • @atlas: worth checking out! Otherwise I think people sell it privately on forums and ebay

  • +1

Wish Apple did this :{ I want FTL on my ipad.

    • +1

https://www.giftcardsonsale.com.au/ often shows good deals on for iTunes gift cards.

Nothing on at the moment though, but at Officeworks, I picked up a $100 gift card for $80.

      • I only need $15 AUD :)

        • You should be able to get a $20 iTunes gift card for $16 at Officeworks. I don't think there's anything lower than that amount though.

    • +2

There are discount deals on iTune cards time and time again, just keep your eyes on them when they pop up.

    • +1

Harvey Norman has 50% off sales for iTunes very rarely. I only remember this happening 3 times, none of which I was able to make it

      • That's correct, it is very rare for 50% off sale, but this Google Play credit deal here is only 25% off anyway, not 50% off.

  • -3

    what this is for ?

    • +3

Google Play, which is the storefront for all their digital stuff (music, books, Android apps, movies). Basically like Google's version of the iTunes store.

    • +1

Some people buy music and software and movies. I know it seems hard to believe. Old people still remember a time when this was considered normal. Strange, isn't it?

    • Anything on Google Play store except hardware purchases

  • Just use Google rewards app and you'll build up credit in no time.

    • +5

I was getting a ton of google rewards surveys last year (pretty much every time I went to Woolies it would ask me to rate my experience) but very few this year.

Not enough to buy premium games.

      • I uninstalled it after surveys stopped coming up.

    • +3

I made about $70 in 2014, $20 in 2015 and $10 so far in 2016. It's not as generous as it used to be.

      • $10 so far in 2016? So on your way to making $70 this year?

        • I hope so. Having my GPS on high accuracy while travelling a lot has been giving a lot of surveys asking which stores I've visited recently and how I rate them.

    • +2

Now making a harmless comment brings out the devil in the neggers.

    • "in no time"? maybe you meant "not in time" instead? or sarcastically?

  • Great to store for when their are specials on the store. Sure will be a sale before November. Only issue with Google is I can't seem to get the last $0.37 out of my balance as it doesn't take the balance from another payment source.

    • I think they fixed this recently. Try selecting payment source when you buy something next and you should be able to apply your credit as part of the payment.

  • +1

    Bought one thanks op.

  • always wondered if this can be redeemed on non-AU account?

  • Question guys, my current credit on google play expires next week, so rather than wasting it on apps I don't need. Just wondering if I buy extra credit now, would that extend the previous credit with the new.

    • As I understand it your google play credit is portioned according to expiry. So your current credit would still expire as it would.

      • Once redeemed, credit expires Nov 2016, unless you top up before in which case the latest expiration date of your redeemed balances will apply to your total balance

        • If you are worried about the expiry just complete a Google Opinion Awards survey which will extended the expiry to a year.

  • What's the expiry date on these Google Play Credit Vouchers? 1 year?

Can buy a voucher and buy apps install on two android phones or one voucher per phone?

    • +3

Credit expires 11/16 (see earlier offer) https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/234973

You redeem voucher codes on your Google play account and you can log onto more than one device to use credit

      • +1

        Thanks shiningstars!

  • +1

So when does one get the codes. I've been waiting an hour

    • usually within 2 days

    • I've been waiting 8hrs.. still nothing

  • what does it mean by "Ex Tax: $15.00"
is 10% gst added to the $15?

    • +1

No gst was added to my order-just $15 per $20 credit

      • thanks.

  • -1

    PayPal only = no thanks!

  • Selected Guest Checkout in step 1.
In step 2 - billing details
Why is there an Asterix next to company ID and tax ID?
Did anyone else need to fill in those boxes?

    • +1

i just put home in both

  • Good deal thanks…

    <gripe>
but if you're going to have paypal as the only payment option for a gift card code , then do you really need me to be entering in all of my billing address and other details when you can just get that from paypal, and when all you really need is an email address?
    </gripe>

  • How long does it take to get your codes? I paid about 2 hours ago and still got no codes back yet..

    • 1-2 days. I usually get them within the day.

      • Thank you!

    • Paid yesterday, got the code early this morning ;)

      • better wait then.. thank you!

  • BUYER BEWARE

      • +1

        New code worked, thanks

  • Price coming up as $20 again now, I think maybe this was a pricing error

    • yeap. about to buy, but it's $20 again. deal ended?

      • last day. just fixed the price. Only few codes remaining now

  • It's been three days and I still haven't received my code. Just shot a message to erroorfree
