That's the power and lure of Ozb. I don't need them so much that i bought 4 for some inexplicable reason.

  • +1

looks like you can get multiples….have a blow a minion competition

    • I'm going to buy four of them and re-enact the blow up scene from The Simpsons arcade game

      • +2

hehe I wonder if I can now use the car pool lane?

  • Just bought three of them.

PayPal works fine with the discount code.

    • i wanted to buy 5, price gone up.

  • +8

I would get one but I already have a life-size blowup… oh never mind. Good deal!

  • Didn't work for me - kept saying nothing in basket after I went through Paypal.

    • Did you click on the "Proceed to Checkout" button in the shopping cart or the "Checkout with PayPal button"?

    • Tried again - refreshed page. All good.

  • After paying with PayPal (coupon works fine) it takes me to the page and tells me

"Shopping cart has no any goods"

    no any.. :D

  • +1

Wow that first picture is a doozie. The Minion is badly photoshoped and almost twice its actual height and it is standing up on its own feet !

  • +24

I added twenty to my cart, got all the way to the payment stage, and then thought "what am I doing with my life?" and closed the window.

    • Damn, right in the feels.

  • +26

I'm going to buy one and put it in the passenger seat of my car to use the Transit lane!

  • +1

I got one and its really hard to blow it up - you have to stick a straw up it first without breaking it (putting a hole it in)

    • I'm impressed they got it delivered to you that fast.

      • +1

I got it from ebay months ago.

    • +1

That might be something to do with their special seal/auto seal. I wonder if there's another way to unseal it rather than mutilating it.

      • yes it is the auto seal its a pain in the butt. basically its glued down really strong so it works well but not when you need to open it to inflate it. I used a pen and gently massage its way in then pulled it back out took out the ink and used the tube to inflate it but it was hard

        • +18

Yes, but what did you do to the minion?

    • +1

I believe all foil balloons use such a seal system. I actually like it as it means no rubber band or knot tying. The straw went in pretty easily for me (for a diff foil balloon - better quality maybe?)

  • +6

This would be a good time to teach the kids about Hindenburg…

  • +4

Going to buy one to put in my mate's bed. That'll give him a ripe old surprise!

    Thanks OP!

  • +1

  • +8

Thanks. Bought 50. Going to inflate a minion army in my unsuspecting mates new house.

    • +2

pics or it… :D great idea

  • Doesn't everyone have a Balloontime home helium tank from Costco/Lincraft?
I use a chopstick to open up the valve for deflating the foil balloons.

  • +4

    "Helium fun
When you inflates normal air, you gets a big bee-do friend. What's more, if you pumps helium, the bee-do can float just like fly in the mid air. And please hold your ware, or it may fly away."

I loves this and will pumps this hard.

Helium is one of the rarest elements on earth, and fast running out.

One might use natural gas instead, but if it hits the power lines, keep clear of resulting fireball.

    • My understanding is that the helium you buy for balloons is not suitable for industrial / medical needs;
      https://madballoons.com.au/helium-facts/

      • Thanks for the heads-up.
I've used natural gas in balloons before. Its not as light as helium/hydrogen, so did not float smaller balloons, but works well for larger mylar balloons.

  • OP, is it possible to dropship this to Italy? Do I just put the address under Special Instructions and pay as I normally would using my PayPal account and put my details in Customer Information? The only time I've ever tried to send something to an address other than mine it's been blocked for fraud haha.

    Help would be appreciated.

  • Thanks OP. listening to thrift shop whilst purchasing this was NOT helpful in trying to avoid more useless junk around the home.

  • Hi OP, I''ve got "Error, this promotion code has frequency of use restrictions.". Is the coupon expired?

    • Whoops you beat me to it :)

    • +1

      So does my wife

  • Coupon Came up with an error for me.

  • +1

Code not working, 40c dearer now.

  • I just bought it. The first time checking out via PayPal it had an error saying my cart was empty. I retried it and it worked the second time.

The odd thing is it never asked me to log in to PayPal, and I hadn't logged into PayPal today. It went through and I have my emails confirming I have purchased it. I then logged into PayPal and confirmed it took the $1.10 from my account. It must have been some kind of cookie.

One of the emails was "You have successfully registered", so now I have an account there and will probably get their newsletters. But I don't recall seeing a checkbox offering this at the checkout stage.

    • When you first did a PayPal checkout you pie authorized the seller.. so they don't need any further authorization. .

      • Oh, okay. I think that's the first time I have "pie authorised" a seller in the many years I've been using the web. I have always been required to login to my account before any PayPal payment has been made.

        • Sorry i meant pre authorised..

  • Don't want one of these, but upvoted for the description.

do NOT inject hydrogen, hydrogen is flammable

Keep your eye on the news for the results.

  • Friends' kids will be stoked , or scared

  • +1

If you inflate one with helium then you can breathe some of it in and sound like a minion!

    I',m sold.

  • Dang, i missed out… :S

  • It is so cute. My nephew love it so much!

  • Nooooooooo! :(… I wanted atleast one.

    • check out my ebay listing in a month's time :OP

Arrived today. Seems like good quality , unfortunately badly inserted into the padded envelope and both damaged while opening the envelope.

  • +1

Wow, thanks for the heads up. Still waiting here.

  • Got it today also. It's like a thin plastic bag material but works well, has survived the initial torment from my 2 y/o so far. I tore the package in the corner and then used a finger to rip it open more. It has a genital-like appendage between its legs which hangs down, which I assumed was the blow hole so I snipped him with scissors and went to work on him. Didn't take long. It's exactly the same height as my kid.

  • Mine arrived today too. Poorly packaged, could have been easily damaged when opening the envelope, but thanks to ricodbn's advice I took it easy and my Minion balloons (complete with inflation appendage) are intact

  • Minion's arm just got ripped off, air very slowly coming out. I taped it up and blew him again, taped on the arm, good as new. See if it lasts overnight.

  • I received mine today. I'm disappointed that it isn't foil but plastic. The size is large as expected. However, i'm afraid that it might not withstand rough treatment from children. But for a dollar, i guess i got my moneys worth. Here's waiting to see how long it survives.

  • How is this thing designed to be inflated? What's the blue piece in the appendage for?

    • The blue piece is a guide. You carefully insert the bike pump needle inside the blue piece and inflate. You could try blowing into it (not very hygienic though), but you would need something like a straw to carefully open up and leave open the 2 re-seal lines (or a chopstick to temporarily open it, though it might be fiddly to blow it since a slight inhale could collapse the re-seal lines). I'm guessing its some sort of an adhesive they use to re-seal so be careful you don't scrape it off or damage it when inserting whatever to unseal it. When done you simply press on the 2 re-seal lines.

To make sure it doesn't accidentally re-open, I've also folded most of the appendage tightly and taped it over several times tightly. Beware the strength of your tape. As it is plastic, if the tape is too strong, when removing the tape, you may end up ripping the plastic too, not to mention the folded tape can create sharp points that could pop/tear the balloon.

      • Hi there, just got my balloons in the mail today and am completely stumped on how to inflate it.

Could you explain what you mean by "carefully insert the bike pump needle inside the blue piece and inflate" ?? Is the blue piece itself meant to be inflatable? Or do I push a straw/needle around the edges of it where it meets the yellow ??

Alternatively, are we supposed to blow air in between the 'skin' of the appendage?

        • +1

If you look carefully the blue piece is actually two pieces of plastic, one side is clear with the printed blue design and the letters H.K, and the other is clear plastic but with the top rectangular portion cut off. Although they are technically clear with blue design and one is just clear, we'll refer to them as the blue piece or blue pieces.

You carefully insert the bike pump needle in between these two blue pieces of plastic. Not between the blue pieces and the yellow appendage. Likewise you blow in between these blue pieces. However, if you look at where the blue piece goes inside of the yellow appendage, you will see two lines running across it, these are the seal/re-seal lines. This has some sort of an adhesive so blowing into the blue piece won't inflate it unless you unseal these lines. To do that carefully insert a straw pass the two lines, hold the plastic tight around the straw along the two lines and blow into the straw. Alternatively you could roll a bit of paper, though blowing through that may not be as effective unless you roll it up several times over to prevent air leakage. When inserting the straw, be careful that you don't scrape off the adhesive on the seal/re-seal lines.

Once done, pinch the appendage closer to the balloon body to prevent the air escaping, then remove the straw etc, then press on the two seal/re-seal lines. The air should not escape. Release your hold on the appendage. Mine held. However, for peace of mind, I taped the opening between the two blue pieces using masking tape. I then folded the appendage on my balloon, starting after the two seal/re-seal lines. That is roughly at 1 inch intervals. I tightly folded it up then taped it together, being careful to add extra tape around the sharp points caused by the initial taping.

  • So complicated. Just snip it with the scissors and use a straw like I did, then tape it up. Done.

  • +1

Mine arrived today.. no problems with blowing all 5 up.. got an air pump that pierces the 2 seals and goes aver the nozzle. All 5 up and sitting on the balcony opposite the Marriott Surfers Paradise if youre passing.. got a few chinese tourists taking pics as we speak.. haha..

Giving them to my mate's kids tonight.

    Thanks OP.
