I admit that it's still pretty expensive, but this is still the biggest saving on Apple Watch that I've seen in Australia.

Further savings if you apply discounted Myer Gift Cards such as those from Rewards Gateway (employer specific) or Pokitpal.

  • Aren't the stainless steel models over $1k each….? ._.

  • Doesn't sound like a bad deal. Not sure what the RRP is though so see what sort of % savings this represents.

    Incoming Watch 2?

    • Well, it's completely inevitable this year. But Myer wouldn't know any more about when it's going to happen than the rumour sites.

    • New model probably out second half of this year. My guess is September/October.

Hard selling one Apple Stainless steel Watch, let alone 2.

    • Hard selling one Apple Stainless steel Watch, let alone 2.

Hey Rep, can you do one for $499 ?

      • Can do One for $498

      • I'll do one with your $499…

You could get the 42mm Stainless Steel with Black Sports Band for $879.

$150 off for each if you get two.

Then buy discounted Myer gift cards (6% off) and you are closer to $685.

Sometimes Myer does bigger discounts as well.

  • Just clearing stock they can't sell, and selling two at once.

    Maybe.

And a good watch lasts a lifetime. It is not something that is meant to be replaced every year.

The cost of this watch, plus a new phone, every year… sickening.

      • +1

Smartwatches are not meant to last a lifetime…
Are you watching Foxtel/Netflix etc on your grandmother's b&w television just because a good tv lasts a lifetime?

        • Actually, I am keeping my tv because it's quite good. Despite a stupid cheap offer on a second hand 4k tv. So yeah, kinda.

        • +1

What a ridiculous comparison… and in any case you can watch Foxtel and Netflix on a B&W TV if you want by hooking up a PC/ Box to it….. Same cant be said with devices that wont allow O/S updates after a certain time installed on it which are required to run apps etc

        • +1

A bit like Samsung phones. Stop getting Android updates after 12 months.

        • -1

@Bargainz: the only ridiculous thing is that some people will never understand the way technology evolves.

P.s.how are you going to connect the pc/box to a 40 y.o. tv? You plug it through the aerial socket? You didn't like my comparison but yet you compare devices that don't allow o/s updates(have you ever heard of hardware limitations???) with B&W tvs that NEED an external hardware to be plugged in to get the "update".(If you are lucky to have a B&W tv with an input other than "aerial")

Apple is not smart, us Australians are dumb.

Apple paid $85 million in Australian income tax last year, despite making almost $8 billion in local revenue
    http://www.smh.com.au/business/the-economy/apples-85-million…

    • +1

Apple (like any other company) wants to pay as less tax as possible within the boundaries of the law. The only way to change it is not to blame Apple, but to elect the right government who will introduce the right tax legislation.

P.S. Comparing revenue and income tax is incorrect.

They're cheap cause no body wants them!

  • Discussion starts off about stainless steel vs sport and ends up arguing over international taxation laws - I love OZB :)
