200GB OneDrive Storage for All Telstra Customers

6870

Free 200GB of additional OneDrive storage for Telstra customers. I think it is lifetime (as long as you remain a Telstra customer), but it is up to Telstra to remove the deal after 2 years. Enjoy.

  • Works for ALL Telstra customers such as prepaid and Foxtel. (Previous was for Fixed Line Bundle and Mobile Postpaid.)

If you have multiple Microsoft accounts, ensure you are logged in to the correct one before clicking the 'redeem offer' button

    • so, how did it go?

      • +1

        I still have it :)

Now I have more than 1.4T space, 1T seems came with office as I got free 1 year license with my Surface.

  • Excellent! Added another 200Gb. Now I have 340Gb free space!

    • how did you get extra 35Gb? I've only have 315Gb :)

      • Camera Roll Bonus 15Gb
        Loyalty Bonus 10Gb

        Extra 25Gb

  • thanks just signed up

  • Thanks

  • Thanks I have 595GB of storage space that I never knew I had./

  • I've got a couple of separate Telstra accounts. Any idea if I can add both to one MS account to make it 400GB? If not, I could add it to a different MS account instead.

    • I'd say the offer is limited to one Telstra offer per Telstra account, per MS account. If you've got multiple Telstra accounts then you'd need the same number of MS accounts to take advantage of this offer.

      • Confirmed - if you try to use 2 Telstra accounts on 1 MS account it doesn't add another 200GB.

  • Looks like its come back from the previous thread which announced this some time ago :/

  • Well that easy to sign up to. Many thanks OP

    I wonder..
If you remove the permissions you gave Telstra to add/remove the bonus storage, does the bonus come off straight away or would it actually stop Telstra from being able to remove it?

I'm not game enough to try!

    • Good question, has anyone tried this?

      • +2

Just did it, had no effect on the Telstra 200gb bonus so far

        • Nek minnit…

    • I can confirm this isn't a problem. Changed mine earlier. No problems

      • Is it still there?

  • Anyone know if the offer is available for small business accounts? I've tried but keep getting the account owner error…

  • So just to confirm….. If I use this 200Gb of free storage, and telstra decides to remove it at its whim, then all they are doing is removing my access of ADDING anything to this storage?
I can still get the files I've stored there??

    • If your storage space is removed, your files are still there and untouched. The only problem is if your used space more than your available space you are not able to upload any files again, but you still can download or share all your existing files.

  • didn't work on me, it says: "Hmmm… you don't seem to be eligible for this offer as you're not the registered account owner. Please log in as the registered account owner to redeem this offer."

  • Hi all - does anyone know if there is anyway to redeem this if you just have a foxtel account? ie not through Telstra - thanks!

  • Roll on NBN, it's gonna be painful uploading 200GB via ADSL 😩 And I'm not using my Telstra mobile to do it.

Anyone know any good, free, fast ways to upload tons of data? (besides Uni or work)

    • Vodafone Data Workout.

But it's not free… This only comes with Vodafone postpaid contracts.

      • Wait for Telstra prepaid to go down again :-)

        • hahaha :P

        • Gee you weren't wrong about that prediction!!

  • Onedive for me is unbelievably slow to upload to

    • +4

      Try OneDrive…

  • Signed up with disused 2014 Onelive and Telstra accounts.
XP is not supported. Android is. App is already on 8.1 & Win10.

Anyone suggest an alternative to Onedrive that's easy to use, reliable and fairly private.

    • Ummmm… An external hard drive?

      • A big pendrive is all I've used. But I meant an online alternative. Especially if hotlinking is allowed it would be great for websites. I will signup today.

    • Why are you still using XP on a net connected system?

      • I guess it becomes necessary to upgrade eventually. But XP is still usable, I prefer it, just as I still use Visual Basic 6 over any other language. Though it might be hard to find people who agree with doing this.

The other thing is the underlying OS hasn't changed much since NT4 afaik, at least up to Win7. Just tons of carp on top, that I don't want or need.

If Windows 95 had Usb support. I'd still be blue screening everyday, that is, I prefer Win95 over everything despite it's weaknesses.

        • its eol though, not really safe to run that on the internet

  • Thanks OP!

  • Thank you for posting this!!!

  • What about if you have a work phone/company paid Telstra account?

  • So what's onedrive like for storing photos?

Google photos is pretty good, anyone used both and care to share an opinion?

    • +2

I only used the web interface. It works fine but the interface is a bit clunky, like a lot of MS products. There are also hidden gotchas, like some characters in filenames are not allowed but you only get an upload failure and no clue what happened.

personally won't trust Microsoft and Telstra to store photos based on reliability and security, as well as being mean and control its customers. also this free storage can be removed by Telstra at any time,
      Flickr gives you free 1TB.

      • +1

The way Yahoo (Flickr's owner) is going, I probably wouldn't rely too much on that either.

      • +2

Nah, I just share photos on the cloud. Always have a few copies of my own. BTW did you eat badly on Feb 29? :)

I use both services (OneDrive and Photos) storing photos for different purposes.

Web: In terms of web use there is no distiguishable difference between the 2 services.

Mobile: Mobile application both backup photos/images with similar performance. One major difference is Microsoft's OneDrive is available across iOS, Android and their own Windows platform, so it makes it easier to switch between devices. Functionally Google Assistant (occasionally provides an animated gif from a chain of photos or combined video clips), alternatively OneDrive provides a clearer UI experience.

PC: You get a desktop sync client from both services. Both perform similar functions. The new version of the Windows 10 OneDrive client doesn't allow for easy pause sync so as a workaround it has to be terminated in task manager.

  • It should include Boost users, since it's a Telstra company?

    • No because Boost users get no-frills mobile services for lower prices

  • Attempting to sign up but not having any luck because my mobile is provided by work on a business plan. Telstra chat man is telling me is 'consumer plans' only…but it doesn't state this on Telstra website.

Anyone able to use Onedrive with ADSL? Uploading any files on Onedrive means that I can't use the internet at all. What is the point of 200gb worth of free space when you can only upload at 1mbps max anyway?

      Welcome to Australia fraudband!

  • I can't seem to get this offer to work. It says i have redeemed the offer via telstra but i cant work out how to link it to my one drive account. When i login to one drive the 200gb has not been applied. How do you link the telstra promotion to your existing one drive account? Anyone have any suggestions?

  • Still working great

  • Anyone else getting an error whilst trying to do this? Mine seems to be an error at the Microsoft end of things, doesn't work with my wife's one either.

  • yes i can't get this offer to work either. have been trying on and off for 2 months or so. it says we have redeemed the offer but there is no 200gb extra in our one drive account.
every telstra customer service representative has no idea about the offer so i have given up!

    • Mine gives me this error: Microsoft was unable to set up your OneDrive bonus storage at this time. This may be due to a technical glitch so please try again.

      • I'm getting that error too. Are you prepaid?

      • I received the same error. On Telstra Prepaid.
Any idea how to fix this?
        Have tried about 5 times.

  • Worked.
I reset my telsra account password before i started the process.
Pretty sure you also get telstra accounts with prepaid. A $2sim activated may allow you to gain this deal (until your sim expires?)

    Way cheaper than dropbox $10.99/mnth.
