From email:

ReShip.com is excited to announce that all ReShip members can now enjoy their own Canadian address in addition to their US address at no additional cost!

This means you can now shop at Canadian online retailers and pay Canadian prices, opening up a whole new world of products and savings.

The Canadian dollar is currently at a 12 year low with $1 US equal to $1.34 Canadian. The result is that in many cases, your money will go farther in Canada than it will in many other countries

  • How does this help Australians?

    • +2

So you can shop from Canadian online stores and get it shipped to Australia…

    • +3

Many stores (such as Amazon.com) will not ship certain products to Australia. These forwarders allow you to have these exempt items shipped to a US address and then forwarded on to your own address, essentially bypassing the zoning restrictions.

Maple syrup and hockey sticks!!! Duh!!

      • -1

in all seriousness, yes, some brands of hockey sticks have export restrictions so they can high-stick our wallets if we buy them locally ;)

  • +1

anyone uses them before? if so how much was shipping for a shoe? :D

    • +8

      wouldn't you want 2 shoes?

      • +3

        Budget cuts.

    • -1

i have, but not for shoes.

unlike some other forwarding services, i appreciate that reship offer cheap options by way of USPS 1st class international. i don't always need everything sent by dhl or fedex express.

  • What is a normal shipping cost from USA /Canada? I presume that the amount you save on the goods more than offsets the forwarding costs, right?

    • +1

What is a normal shipping cost from USA /Canada?

can you narrow it down a bit?
what are the dimensions/weight of the item?
      which retailer?
      which freight service?
how fast do you want it shipped?
      extra insurance?
      registered/signed-for?

I presume that the amount you save on the goods more than offsets the forwarding costs, right?

some other things to keep in mind..
does the retailer quote a stupid amount for shipping to Australia, or refuses to ship internationally full stop?
does the retailer have shipping restrictions for international export of a certain brand?
can you even get the item in Australia?
or, if you can find the item in Australia, is there a variant of the item that isn't stocked and which you really want?

  • So this is the cheapest forwarder from USA to Australia ? Compare with shipto, etc?

  • I find Shipito to be cheaper

    • doh, i just want to have one (just in case i need) but too late already register with reship :(
      is shipito free to register?

  • I'd be wary of shipping stuff from US to Canada - unless these guys get around it somehow as shipping it out again, but Canada charges taxes and duties on anything posted in over CAN$20 http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/import/postal-postale/duty-droits…

I got stung when I was in the US, bought some stuff off Amazon, and thought it would arrive before I went to Canada - it arrived day after, so my friend had to post it up to me. Lets just say the extra I 'saved' by not getting Amazon's express shipping was a mistake.
