    I wouldn't buy a Kogan branded mobile service. Was stung in the last debacle, they behaved badly IMHO.

      What do you mean? They refunded everyone their remaining credit. We still got a good 6ish months of very cheap service with a lot of data for the time. Consumers didn't lose anything apart from having to find another service provider.

    First month only, please add it to title

    • I read that the discount applies to recharges by 5pm on 29 April 2016. So, assuming I order a SIM today and 1st recharge on 18 March, 30 days later the discount still applies to my 2nd recharge? Would be a pretty good deal if one get can a repeat before the deal ends. Not sure of Vodafone's 3G though…

      Cannot find it says on the website the deal is for new Kogan customers or for 1st recharge only…
      Anyone interpreting this the same as I do?

  • This is really a duplicate of https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/233905 as the last deal stated it was valid until the end of March.

    • Lol, he even linked the deal that he duplicated.

      • This deal appears to come with a free sim where as the previous one required a $4.90 sim starter kit. I've edited the deal to reflect it.

        • Thanks

        • how to get the included free sim? i tried buying prepaid starter kit and looks like it'll get charged $0.05 upfront.. any idea?

        • +1

          @timhobart:

          Technically it's $8.95 + $.05 sim or $10.95 +$.05 sim. Last deal was $9 or $11 + $4.90 sim starter kit. So yeah, you'll have to fork out 5 cents.

        • @neil: thanks..

        • +1

          @timhobart: Really? You're bothered about 5 cents?

        • @Gershom: isn't that the ozbargainers spirit.. every cents count :)

        • @timhobart: well….. 5 cents is probably synonymous with 'free'

        • @ashar: in ozbargainland "free" = $0 solid.

    i think the data should be the important part, who wants unlimited calls locally I mean everyone has smartphone nowadays and numerous apps that would allow you to make calls to each other FacTime, Whatsapp, Hangouts, Skype etc etc

    • What I can't stand is when places advertise "$800 CREDIT!!!" on their plans. Just get rid of calls and text and just call it data.

      • -1

        I agree, marketing is misleading, if $800 credit is offered, then should be used for monthly subscription

    • i heavily use unlimited calls, if both local and international, i would be so happy. then i could dedicate data for browsing, and watching videos, instead of chewing through data for video and calls.

  • So if I just wanted the SIM for the data, could I buy multiple and just activate a new one each time the previous one runs out?

    Disregard. I just noticed the terms "Discount applies to recharges prior to 5PM (AEDT) 31/3/2016."

    Thanks OP. Good for data if you need 5GB for a month only.

    • Yeah.. its a Data attractive plan.. pitty the deal ends end of month

      • +2

        They've extended it to the 29/04 :)

    • Good deal. Maybe make a note in the post that this is only valid for recharges until 29/4/2016.

    • Does this mean every recharge is $11 instead of $36.95? Or just for the first recharge?
