What do you consider to be the greatest sitcom of the 90s then?

    • +8

      Frasier lol

      • +6

        Tossed salad and scrambled eggs?

      • +1

        I so agree :)

    • +7

Seinfled and married with children ($76 box set if Op wants to add to title)

      • Yep agree.

      • Have seen Seinfeld for much cheaper hence why it's not in the post.

Just included the ones that had an additional reduction before the extra 20% off.

    • +1

      doogie howser

    • +2

Cheers was still going, the criminally underrated Just Shoot Me was on from '97 onwards, Frasier as mentioned earlier.

      • +1

Just Shoot Me fizzled out at the end.

    • +1

NewsRadio, and more 80s but crossing into the 90s Mother and Son.

      • Loved NewsRadio, some how doesn't hold up well now but.

  • +2

Free on Stan which is also free of you have Optus / free trial

    • This is the thing now. When I first got Netflix, was in JB hi-fi, saw a couple of box sets of seasons. 3 different shows = Netflix for about 2 years …

Friends is also the same price at Aldi since it got reduced maybe 2 weeks ago. I have seen plenty of both them and Big Bang Theory at every Aldi I have visited lately.

    • Good to know. Prefer buying from JB with gift cards purchased from Lumo but I'm sure others would benefit. Was the deal posted on OzBargain?

      • Agreed, Aldi also charge a very small % for card transactions, but thought I'd throw it out there as an alternative.

I thought it was listed here when it was first in stock at it's original price ($79.95?), but can't seem to find it so maybe it wasn't. To be honest, I didn't think $80 was anywhere near a good price for it so it doesn't surprise me.

Uh… The Simpsons is a sitcom too. (Not exclusive to the 90s of course, though those were its golden years.)

    • +2

Amazing it is still running, when we are discussing TV series such as Friends and Fraiser

    • -5

Uh… The Simpsons is a sitcom too.

      It's a cartoon…

      • +2

        Still a situation comedy.

    thanks for post,
its very tempting - but then we'd have to get one of them black boxes that spin the disk, no?

    • +1

Agreed - I haven't owned a DVD player since 2012 - Only rare times I use a DVD is on my home PC or laptop!

    • +1

Ahh but there's always a games console or bluray player that can do the job?

      • +3

but can you imagine getting up to change the disk ?

    • +1

I feel so left behind! My entertainment is still solely whatever is on TV or rented DVDs!

So, what's the best/easiest way to watch disc-less stuff on TV?

      (I only have 100GB of ADSL2 here)

      • +1

I have the same issue. 125GB of peak data (between 9am - 1am the following day) and a maximum download speed of around 1.2Mbps. Downloading movies and games from an online store is such an elusive luxury for me!

        • Both of you shouldn't have any trouble accessing Netflix with those setups… Cheapest way to get it onto your TV would be a chromecast.

  • This is on both Stan and Netflix US from memory, may make an alright gift, though I would rather stream in HD.

    • +1

For ease of access streaming wins, but I'll always prefer knowing that I have a copy that is my own. Streaming services control what is available and when.

  • Since installing Kodi and 1 channel on my HTPC, all my DVD collections are collecting dust. Though its not legal per se but would never invest on DVD collection any more.

  • Game of Thrones - Season 4 - Blu Ray Limited Edition $24.98. $5 off still is $19.98. But even $25 is good. Pop Vinyl is worth at least $20!
