  • +5

    this is a bargain?

    • my thoughts exactly.

  • No Problems, Always good to get free stuff. specially from M$

  • +3

Damn, thought for a second that free t-shirts were being given out.

    • +1

      haha, they're virtual tshirts!

      • lol

If only they were real. :(

        • Why would you want a free Bing T-shirt anyway?

  • +1

    Worked

    Thanks

  • +3

Why would anyone want a Bing tshirt for their avatar?

    • +11

They make good presents for virtual girlfriends.

      • +1

Virtual girlfriend in nothing but a virtual bing tshirt.

almost sounds good if you put it that way, haha

      • +1

SHE'S REAL! SHE LIVES IN CANADA I TELL YOU

      • There are no women on the interwebs. Your virtual girlfriend is a dude.

  • +3

why would anyone want a real Bing t-shirt? unless you wanted something to wash your car with….

    • Bing's not that bad. I mean, it's not in the same league as Google but you put it next to Ask.com, Altavista and Yahoo, Bing's really not THAT bad.

  • +1

    cool, grabbed the BBQ

  • +1

Hummm, I'd prefer not to take him out of his suit, however can't complain about a freebee.

  • Can someone please tell me how to get this freebee, step-by-step..

    [EDIT]

Found it! BUT unfortunately I must have an existing avatar, or create a one using xbox …which I sold some time back :-(

  • -5

Um sorry, no deal from me. :)

    • What do you mean?

      • -2

For me personally, it's not a deal.

        • +1

          that's a reason for a neg vote?

        • Neg vote because you don't need/want it? weird.

  • what is a bing?

    • Microsoft's google. www.bing.com

      • Microsoft wishes :P

    • Let's not go there. Please don't take negative votes so personally. You could be giving away free money and people would still neg you.

      • I hope scotty implements his solution soon as this will be an ever growing problem for the mods.

  • -7

Not a deal for me either.

  • +1

Going off the logic of you guys that means you should negative vote all the free tampon samples that come up, or you could just click away because you have no use for it, which is what you should have done this time around.

  • No hard feelings for the negative vote guys.

Personally for me, this is SPAM and I don't like Micro$oft that much.

    I've revoked my vote. :)

    • i agree with the spam comment , i think this belongs in the forum and not here.

although obviously it is a bargain to some :)

  • +3

I personally feel we need keep everything virtual separate from everything that is real; like : virtual children (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,588005,00.html ) and real children ; virtual life and real life ; virtual bargains and real bargains

    • +2

Yeah, I side with that. Virtual stuff costs nothing to give out. Look, if virtual freebies are ok, can I offer heaps of free views of my blog site? lol!

I think the rule should be that it should normally cost money.

      • -2

        Songs, Movies, Software???

Adobe Master Suite will set you back over $3k RRP.

        Virtual products have value.

This example may or may not, but to dismiss value because it exists in 1s and 0s is foolish.

        • +1

Read what I wrote: "normally cost money". I didn't rule out all virtual products. What I wrote was that it should save you money. If you pay money for software and you are offered it for much less, sure that's a deal.

      • -1

        • You're right - but you're giving bad examples.

You can't compare a virtual shirt to songs, movies and software.

Time / effort and money spent on songs, movies and software far outweighs a virtual shirt.

          • @[Deactivated]: "You can’t compare a virtual shirt to songs, movies and software."

Im not, i purposely stated that i was not comenting on this particular deal:

"This example may or may not"

But instead on the idea that virtual needs to be kept seperate from 'real' because it has inherently less value:

"Virtual stuff costs nothing to give out"

            Doesnt mean its not valuable….

            • @jase13: Whilst it's not perfectly clear, greenpossum was referring to products which carry no inherent value (i.e. a digital shirt) as opposed to a song/software/service. He did make the same distinction you did.

  • +5

    This is ridiculous.

Microsoft should be paying us put their advertising on our avatars in their game console.

It is not a 'bargain', it's spam.

    • +4

I'm negging, this would be a freebie if you would actually ever pay for it.

Tell me, how much you are willing to pay to have M$ SPAM displayed on you avatar?

Therefore this isn't a freebie, it is SPAM.

    • +9

LOL, settle down mate…here at OzBargain, most of us are quite picky so that the site doesn't get filled with spam. Since you've only been a member for a week and a half, you probably haven't noticed that yet. Besides, hardly anyone has given you a negative anyway so stop whining. :) You could have easily been blocked from the site for 24 hours for too many negatives.

And "get a life"…coming from someone who gets excited over a virtual T-shirt is very ironic. :D And not all 360 users will love it…(I'm a 360 gamer)…it's not an Xbox shirt…it's a bing shirt.

And you can actually neg our comments so go nuts! (up to a limit of 5) :)

Everyone's free to voice their opinion on bargains.

      • +3

LOL LOL LOL, careful stix, or hes gonna virtually knife you :P

    • +1

Which part of "giving away something that isnt actually worth anything, and which exists purely to advertise their own inept product" seems like a "bargain" and not "spam" to you…?

As for being negative: most of us come to this site for bargains, not to see spam masquerading as bargains. And when you promote spam as a bargain you ARE actually "pushing this on people".

  • -5

Ok well sorry if i have upset anyone with telling people about free items from M$, So posting Month free live is Spam as well, Ill keep that to myself then.

    Oh and for your information…..

    What is spam?
Spam emails are a type of 'electronic junk mail'. These types of emails typically contain get-rich-quick cons, bogus lottery wins, Nigerian scams, miracle cures, pornography, offers of restricted drugs like Viagra, loans and fake watches.

My listing doesnt come under spam as you get something for free not rip people off?

    • 1 month free LIVE isn't spam because it's actually useful and you have to pay money for it.

No hard feelings mate…judging from the positive votes, many definitely appreciated your effort of posting.

      Welcome to the site! :)

    • +1

Good point although you can delete spam

      also

      spam = ham in a can :)

    • "Month free live" is useful, appreciated, worth posting etc. Thank you.

    • Free live vs this is an apples/oranges.

Realistically, if people pay are willing to pay for something, and they're getting it free, it's a bargain. This leads to positive votes and happiness all around.

In this instance, you've got a… few pixels out of a game which, and correct me if I'm wrong here, you wouldn't be buying even if you had a million dollars to blow. So the notion that it's now free is not a bargain in anyone's eyes… It's advertising, and may be more suitably placed in the appropriate fora.

It has no value to begin with!

I'm not going to vote one way or another, but there's no reason to get your panties in a bunch about a negative. People here are inconsistent, if not completely erratic — you'll need to learn to deal with that. A deal that garners a plethora of positives one week may receive negatives the next. They're not negging you. If you feel it violates the voting guidelines, just report them and a moderator will get around to it when (s)he can.

I find it funny that people are still saying M$ to refer to Microsoft. I'd say compared to Apple, they are not that bad. Just yesterday I read an article saying iPad was sold out. Really people of the world? Really? I feel sad. iPhone's awesome and iPod might just be the best portable media player but iPad… :(

    • +2

      Good point.

Here's a comparison on the iPad to a stone:

      http://thecrapbox.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/ipad-vs-sto…

      • +1

        IPads "rock"!!

    • Not sure why someone neg'd you, but I balanced it out.

The problem with the free market is blind consumerism. A lot of companies (not just Apple; Nintendo also comes to mind) could turd in a jar and put their logo on it, price it at $300 and people would buy it for the hip factor, or be duped by veblen good.

There'll be plenty of alternatives to the ipad on the market shortly.. The best thing you can do to tell everyone (including Apple) that it's shit is to either not buy it, or buy an alternative (maybe even one that supports multi-tasking!)

    • I'm almost certain (based on the way you feel about the iPhone & iPod) that in 6 - 12 months, you love the iPad.

  • Thanks Stix, The only reason i would put something like this up is cause M$ make millions, so when something is offered for free i love it and jump on it even if i dont use it. Still want to share it im sure there are people the will love a bing t for there Avatar…..

    No hard feelings :-)

    • +1

Alright, now lets get that free month of Live.

  • The gamers are out in force. Don't mess with us.

  • -3

I dont agree with this post. I think shouldnt be worthy of what has been posted. If we let this slide, other useless things will slide too.

Let's keep it consistant guys. Make it worth it.

    Neg from me.

    • -2

      do not feed the troll

      • +1

        That's not trolling.

  • +4

Seriously I am gonna be a tool and neg vote this also.
I do not believe that this is a bargain as this isn't something people would want anyway.
Its blatant advertising for them and its plastered all over our avatars.

It's like calling free wallpapers for a movie eg Transformers 2, a bargain.
Sorry. But this isn't why I come to OzBargain.

    • I like the fact some good neg comments are getting made - reasons always make negs easier to digest for the OP :D

  • +3

its quite funny how agitated the OP gets when we vote negative. Its like he personally has a stake in microsoft or something.

  • +3

Who the hell wants to advertise on behalf of MS under the guise of a 'limited edition' avatar shirt??!!!

It's like Microsoft spamming my LIVE account.

  • +2

shouldn't microsoft be paying us to use these?

  • +1

    wth

  • Btw easiest way would be to login with your live account here > https://live.xbox.com/en-AU/accounts/RedeemToken.aspx
(suggest you add that to the decription)
    And copy/paste the codes in
@Maxx, yes you need an xbox live avatar to retrieve this bargain

    Thx for the post!

  • +3

    it's not a deal

  • +3

It's a free virtual tshirt. Get over yourselves. Fine by me if you're all anti-Microsoft, but leave the aggression elsewhere.
    Thanks for the tip, Cub3.

  • +1

Dudes, there is a free BBQ!!! A free BBQ!!!!!! You all neglected to mention this! That's what makes this the greatest bargain ever kthx!

  • +2

I got my free virtual t-shirt but it is the wrong size can I exchange it? ;-)

    • +3

No, but maybe you can get it priced matched somewhere else. lol!

  • +3

If you enjoyed this bargain you will love this!

Free virtual 50" Full HD Plasma:

    Link: http://i43.tinypic.com/14nfxug.png

    • lol

I'm worried about cropping on my 46" tv though.

  • +2

    MS spam is no bargain

  • +1

    Not a bargain.

  • +1

    This deal is bloody useless.

  • +1

Even if it was a real t-shirt, this would come close to not being anything close to resembling a bargain, let alone the fact its a bloody avatar…

  • Im negging because my toes are itchy and i don't like M$, take THAT OP!

    • +3

itchy toes is not a good enough reason for negative voting. Can i suggest an anti fungal spray or creme.

  • Microsoft spam yuck

  • Wtf is Grill Pop and how do i use it?
