Bunnings Cairns are clearing out a whole load of window hardware, not sure how much these locks used to go for at Bunnings but I've never seen a 4-pack of window locks go for less than $50 (sold elsewhere for around $55: http://www.supercheaphardware.com.au/sliding-aluminium-windo…).

They had about 10 or 12 4-packs left mid-afternoon today, most seemed to be keyed to only one or two codes. There was also a whole bunch of other window locks (singles and 4-packs) in other styles and colours available.

Of course, a real Ozbargainer would steal a whole bunch of dowel out of a skip and cut it down to fit the window track (cough cough) but after a few years Mrs Chickentaste was demanding a more elegant solution.

    It's probably specific to a particular store. I've seen them yesterday for sale in Sydney (Alexandria) for $20

    Local BigW was reorganising the hardware section a few months back. Picked up these for $2 a set, so windows secured. But was store specific, only in cream colour, & not enough stock for a deal.

    A few Bunnings have stock of handy Witco Mini Bolt 4 packs including 3 bolt sizes (Mahogany colour only) discounted from $75 to $45. ($75 @Masters) Installed some yesterday in sliding glass doors, & through steel frame into security doors. Nice long bolts.

    Otherwise Bunnings have Ikonic Multibolt Window Lock - 4 Pack including 3 bolt sizes (seems only Primrose or 'self-colour' discounted) for $19, although I haven't used them.

    But as you secure 1 area, other areas (like breaking the glass or bumping the locks) are still vulnerable.

    No more dowel for me ;-)

    Pretty sure their Ikon brand go for under 50 bucks every day of the week (in fact, 31.20)

    Not dissing the deal though, would have been good for quality locks if it was available ozwide

      I think they may be priced differently locally here in Cairns then. You're in NSW?
