I reckon that given this news, folks planning to purchase a TV soon may do well to wait and see what happens to the fourteen containers of TVs misdelivered to Dick Smith!

    • I read it as though they are all DSE branded or generic therefore no warranty

      Is it worth that risk?

      • shrug… if they're cheap enough…

    • I was in the Carlingford Sydney store last week and a Toll courier guy was delivering all sorts of stock. The manager cried out, "What hell are you doing? Sending me more crap to sell along with all the other crap I've got to get rid of…"

The manager and delivery guy laughed about it but I could sense the manager's frustration - he's trying to move toasters, Skylanders Giants, iPad 2 cases…and more stuff keeps turning up at his door.

No surprise the whole organisation has gone bust.

      Classic Toll.
      /Toll rant begins
They are a bunch of effing muppets. No job too big or too small that they can't stuff up. This sure as (profanity) would not have happened at my company
      /Toll rant over

      • Programmer I see?

  • Is this TV good, seem like a very good price for a 65" UHD TV.

FWIW I bought the Hisense 65k321 UHD TV for a friend and I have to say it's a heck of a lot of TV for the $$$. 65" of UHD, 3yrs warranty (+1yr extra as used my Platinum CC), quad core processor, reasonably good SMART apps etc all for $1356 from TGG.

Calibrated it using the settings that a US based professional service used for the 55" version (and yes I know that technically every panel will be a tad different BUT this atleast gets it a lot closer to 'calibrated' than the OOTB settings).

I have to say the picture with this done is actually pretty damn good - and that was just viewing some FTA HD material - so pop some proper bluray material in or better and it's a hard TV to beat for the $$$.

Was very pleasantly surprised by how intuitive and well laid out the remote control and menus were - generally on the cheaper Chinese TVs I find these to be nasty and confusingsly done - but this was very good.

The folks I bought it for, who were considering getting a FHD 60" Panasonic from HN for $1700 are absolutely elated with it. I'm not as blown away but the overall value of the TV for the money is very compelling IMHO.

      • Tempted but Binglee wouldn't sell me in QLD.

        • Slavery is illegal. They can't sell you in QLD because they don't own you.

    In-store pickup only?

    • Delivery option for extra $40.

  • +2

says pickup only for me………..I don't get the $40 postage option
and I cant pick up in SA obviously

    • You can buy from Good Guys

    • I am in NSW so may be it shows delivery option only for NSW region.

  • Just bought the tv after so much consideration considering, i already have a 58 inch led tv and will update you with a review of the tv. But in price comparison Jb-hi-fi has the tv on sale for $1700 so $1320 for this 4k 65 inch tv seems like a great deal.

  • The Good Guys ebay pickup is a good deal still if you are in WA like me, i hate you guys i dont need a new TV but now i really want one.

    • Wow $1356 when is the next 20 % off now looking at getting a to was thinking of this model is it a good tv as I do like my Samsung tv.
My tv has seen better days so want to upgrade soon.

    • But am I right they don't have this tv now?

  • I was considering this TV for about 4 months .. hesitated and procrastinated as the price fluctuated from $1995 to around $1700 and back up again at JB.. hesitation came in the form of the brand. But it appears HiSense is now the 3rd largest supplier of TV's in the world. That places some credence .. not much but some. I purchased a HiSense fridge in January and been extremely happy with my purchase .. so I'm tipping my toe again in the HiSense pool.

Specs are quite impressive .. reviews are few and those that do come out seem to mention the slight issue of the depth of the black and the longer lag time if your a high end gamer. But i was happy enough going from my 50" LG Plasma with impressive blacks to this .. so its wasn't all that bad. Quad core and Android based interface should see some good response in the UI at least.

Bit the bullet last night and ordered one from Bing Lee (almost $100 cheaper than GoodGuys with the CTECHIE) .. For $1279+delivery for a 65" UHD tv from the 3rd larger supplier in the world .. bring it on baby.

Bing Lee rang this morning for delivery tomorrow .. great service so far …
