STOCK UPDATE (resolved)

Please accept our sincere apologies for time taken to get exact information regarding these extenuating circumstances. There was conflicting information, although much of the issue (all outside our control) was resolved yesterday. It took this long to iron the information out. This is being written within 15 minutes of final information coming to hand. And as aforementioned, much of the "make-good" resolution has already transpired, in the interest of serving you better.

DETAILS: At a pre-warehouse level there were errors which could not then be resolved by our warehouse, despite strenuous and sustained efforts on their behalf. We have now resolved all issues, to a better standard than agreed (see Availability for what was agreed in terms of dispatch — applies to all purchasable SKUs at time of offer — and shipping), and Selling Out Soon has even made good on the SAME DAY DISPATCH outcomes in terms of the time it would have taken for the advertised delivery services. Details below.

SPECIAL DELIVERY (EXPRESS POST) AT NO CHARGE for orders received first day before listed deadline. These items were initially due to ship same day by the free off-peak shipping, as per details under Availability on the item page on the site. Because this stipulation was not met, due to factors outside our control, for which we apologise, ALL ORDERS received before 4pm AEST (agreed deadline) on the first day have been shipped by Express Post, at our cost.           I ordered mgsv day one edition thursday. They didnt dispatch on thusday like they said. Then on friday i got an email saying they dont know who orders day 1 edition and who didnt so they paused my order and asked my to pay $6 to upgrade to day one edition. And said that they will release the shipment next week.

          @suicine94: Thanks for keeping us updated on this, based on the original wording of this post you have every right to expect the Day One edition for the advertised price…that was certainly how I was reading it, and almost ordered myself on that very same premise!!! (Just got too many games now, not enough time to play them). Nice to see the mods are on board here too, I'm sure they'll be assisting OzBargainers to get a fair resolution.

          Whenever I've dealt with these guys it's been straightforward & honest, but what you've reported (and we have no reason to doubt you) is very troubling…it's bait & switch, and absolutely contrary to ACL. I hope the rep comes back & does the right thing for you! I've revoked my + vote based on this especially given the pretty indifferent response to the issue when raised initially by twinsen…I'll be watching this space carefully, whether or not I continue to deal with these guys will depend heavily on whether they make this right here!

        I'm not sure about Paypal but I think they want you to try and resolve things with the seller before they intervene. I think this is also the case for charge backs and this process can take quite some time…

    Yes, @IceCreamBandit is correct about the above, we're not normally open weekends. No need to panic. If anyone wants to check the revisions, please go ahead, it's very clear for everybody to see. Offer was for this:

    TimingYes, we were a little behind….but only because we wanted to give away something extra, for nearly free (as an option) …so don't panic, and we're back on track now that many of you told us you wanted the upgrade, as promised

    It is amazing that there was a whole page of comments over the weekend, mainly by the few who don't know us yet. Everybody who knows us wasn't panicking and for good reason. Because those who've dealt with us before have experienced a solid, and very sincere service, cheeky at times, mostly fun, and no BS. It may be worth noting that Customer Service reports less than 5 emails of a "concerned" nature, but two of which wouldn't provide any details of their concern, instead preferring to hurl foul language at some very gentle female staff who help people with kindness every day. Abusing them is not only uncool, but is the sort of behaviour that is indicative of what makes the rest of Australia ashamed of its record with domestic violence. Pragmatically speaking, abuse doesn't work either. But that's not why it shouldn't happen. Abuse shouldn't happen because it's wrong. And unnecessary.

    Intent, the gist:if circumstances change, the deal may get better, but only if you want it.

    The intention has been to help people get something more, for less (the original OzBargain deal) then afterwards sweeten the offer, for nearly free (the emailed upgrade offer). It is important to remember that it was an offer, not a requirement. The email pointed that out very clearly, if you're unsure, please go back and read it again. It even expressly tells you to ignore it if you don't want the upgrade.

    Play by Play for those who really like details(to the best of my recollection)

    Some people have been confused about the OzBargain deal, but it was correct. It's true that I had glanced at changes by hamza23 and assumed hamza had changed the original headline but Spackbase correctly pointed out that we'd done that. Shouldn't be big deal though because it doesn't change what the deal said. An earlier promo on the site (not advertised here on this deal) mentions getting $40 off Metal Gear Solid V Phantom Pain and pictures the Day One Edition, but the link goes to all the editions. We had too little stock of Day One Editions for PS4 and X1 to facilitate an OzBargain deal (because of the OzBargain minimums required to post a deal). But we had enough of Standard Edition to help a lot of people get an amazing price, even lower than PSN's 60% off download…for the physical product, delivered! Everybody can see that the Selling Out Soon price was incredibly low, and to match the PSN offer more accurately, it was for the Standard Edition, because that's what they're selling. For those confused, we didn't say delivery within 24 hours. The heading said the deal was 24 hours, as nearly all of our deals start out to be unless we choose to extend. We may or may not extend any deal. Later it was decided to let it go longer than 24 hours because there was some stock left of some SKUs (not PS4). In the body text, it indicates dispatch was originally intended to be 24 hours. "Fast SAME DAY dispatch (dispatch deadline 4pm weekdays) for first day orders".

    However, in the mean time, Customer Service got emails and phone calls asking about Day One Edition for PS4 and XBox One. It could have become logistically difficult, so it was decided to send an email to everyone, offering a tremendously good price for an upgrade to the Day One Edition…. to help people. We devised a way to facilitate this as easily as possible using a coupon code (only for those who wanted it) and it saved $35 off the $41 difference between the upgrade from Standard Edition ($79.88) to the Day One Edition ($108, EB was selling the Day One Edition for $about the same, maybe a little more, but since our deal have reduced theirs to $67, but our overall price is $45.87 which makes EB $21.13 more expensive + their delivery charge)

    The Crux:tldr

    So we'd hoped Selling Out Soon could save people even more, with a super-cheap upgrade, but only if people wanted it. And we had to know who those people were, which is why we emailed everyone. This did slow things down a little, apologies for that, but at no time was anybody required to do anything, or pay any extra, obviously. And in terms of numbers, a fairly major chunk of people said they wanted the upgrade, which makes sense, because it's both cheaper than getting the DLC separately (last time we checked) and also you can resell a Day One Edition for more than the Standard Edition. Of course, none of this applies to Xbox 360 and PS3 buyers. Sorry if you got that email with the rest, I think that happened once or twice. Good news: warehouse reports that they're nearly back up-to-date. I'll provide more information either tomorrow morning, or tonight before we close.

    Now I'm hungry. Time for lunch! Any genuine issues or concerns can be addressed by Customer Service - they're super friendly, and at the moment, email is fastest.       How about next time:

      • Don't list as only 24hrs, you constantly run a deal longer than that and it's a false representation of the deal
      • Be concise - So many of your deal posts are full of utter cr*p and salesmanship. It's not needed. A simple link to each version, and the coupon code, and a description of the product at hand is all that's needed. The fact I need to scroll down on my desktop screen most of the time just to read the full description, is proof it's too much waffle.
      • Along the lines of the point above, state exactly what is required. Look below for an example of what your post could've looked like.
      • Lose the popups! Holy cr*p I've seen illegal sites with less popups than yours! If I click out of 1, I don't expect another 2 to come up when I'm browsing!
      • Don't promise quick delivery when you won't honour it. You tried to have a go at the BTB rep for not shipping the item same day, when you've just proven you haven't either.

      Rep - why was same day despatch clearly advertised if the plan was to ask people to pay more for a specific version of the game. You say people who aren't interested can ignore the email, but weren't orders put on hold meaning nothing was actually sent out last week despite the same day despatch offer?

        Yes, the delay wasn't ideal, nor planned. An opportunity to do an upgrade in bulk happened at the last moment. These things can happen, sometimes after we post a deal. We could have made an offer next week for the Day One Edition, at a different price, but that would mean some people would miss out. And although some people have been vocal about not wanting any changes, many, many people wanted the very cheap upgrade.

        • @Spackbace: I agree that I wish it was all up to me Spackbase, then I'd likely know all the answers. I'm not holding out on anyone, we've been very consistent and provided outstanding service in the past. Only once did a mistake at warehouse (not ours) level cause any issues, and everyone was refunded and treated very well indeed. It is very easy to postulate from afar, or be abusive, and assume that everybody selling things is bad or lies all the time, when most often the opposite is true.

          I won't be able to answer any questions during the night, as I will not be here, as Selling Out Soon operates during business hours. But we do know we are in the relationship business, so let me assure you that while it clearly is not all up to me, and I have to balance many factors, many of which are outside my control, people will be treated fairly, and with respect, as they always are at Selling Out Soon. I dare say I'll know more when I can get in touch with the right people tomorrow morning. And when I do have something concrete, it will be articulated in a forthright and timely manner.

          Given that you have not upheld your end of the bargain (the deal was longer than 24hours and our orders were not shipped on the same day - as is still advertised here) - I think it is only fair that you provide refunds for those who want one or free express shipping for those who are willing to wait for when you get your update in the morning.

          I can't be honest by being drawn into commenting on something I don't know. Let's leave it at that. Otherwise I'll have to say the same thing over and over again, and that won't help anybody. I don't mind, as I've said many times before, I've got heaps of time! And I love typing! (It is entirely possible that I'm paid by the word!) But it won't help anybody until I know more. So let's wait for that. Thanks :)

        They said that the shipping will be done in the current run which has a time frame of from today to tomorrow. so latest it will ship is tomorrow close of business. they did say they will do it ASAP so many today?

        That's all the information I got from the customer support. Store Rep not providing anything even though he promised update this morning. And I seen him online so he's just ducking us in this post.

        I did purchase from you and got a response from customer service. In this forum I want to ask generic questions that relates to everyone. for issues on my specific order I can do that through customer service.

        Everyone here that ordered just wants to know WHEN IS OUR GAMES GONA BE SHIPED??

        I know you ship it as a batch so why don't you find out the answer and just tell up here I know it's not a specific case by case. its a bulk shipment so why is it so hard to tell us when the stuff is shipped?

        • No, it's not done in the way you may think. Certainly not a giant batch. Your specific order is handled by one person. And we can assign people on a cases by case basis. There was conflicting information as explained in detail, although issues (all outside of our control) are already resolved.

      • I signed up for an account and don't have a tracking number lol so makes no difference but express shipping should take no more than 2 days so hold tight I guess? :)

        • Yea the customer service said you only get tracking number if you purchased the express shipping… since they up graded us all to express I would assume we should get a tracking number now.

          I still haven't got my e-mail about my game being dispatched. what about you Kupo? has anyone here got the dispatched email?

          Mine wasn't expressed shipped as I think my order fell outside of the 4pm timeframe (boo the WA times lol).Even with priority shipping you should get a tracking number (as it is still Registered Post) but I didn't.

          I received an email advising my order status has changed to "shipped" but no specific details on tracking numbers or anything else.

        • @KupoHo: Actually KupoHo, WA time means you'd have 3 hours extra to people living in Sydney! You don't need Express to get tracking, but normally you'd need to buy tracking to get tracking (like the difference between a standard Australia Post envelope and a Registered Australia Post post envelope). See the deal for the definition ofPriority in this context. Thank you.

          If you are referring to the deal you stated it ended EASTERN standard time…so it is completely irrelevant that I am in WA and was 3 hours behind?

          From my previous question, you confirmed that orders that did not receive EXPRESS shipping received an upgrade to PRIORITY for FREE.

          From your website it states this: $4.90 Australia Post PRIORITY + Signature + tracking + shipping insurance.

          So I am not sure what other context I can actually look at it? If my order was upgraded to priority, I should have received tracking. But I haven't.
