You cannot purchase because you already down Playstation Plus.

    New subscribers only?

    EDIT:

Yes new subscribers only. Please edit and add the info.

I've never subscribed for PS+ before and haven't even used the trial yet so I'm wondering if I can activate the 14 day trial first and still subscribe at the discounted price? Will it stack?

    • not sure, you'll never be able to use another trial again but it should …

    • +3

I bet after the trial is started it won't say you are a new subscriber.

    • +1

      Not worth the risk,
if you really want to test it out, create a new account, and use the trial on that.

Download the + games etc, and then play in your main account.

  • +3

I'm a lapsed subscriber and I just got this email, so I'm guessing it applies to anyone who isn't currently subscribed, not just first-timers.

    • +2

Dammit I was lapsed but renewed yesterday morning! Oh well

      • Someone mentioned below, that you might be able to get a refund

    • I have left it for a month and havnt recieved a thing.

  • +2

My subscription expired last month and I also got the email. From the email:

To be eligible for this offer, you must (i) have a SEN account (ii) not have an active PS Plus subscription.

And from the terms & conditions:

This PlayStationPlus offer is open to Sony Entertainment Network account holders who do not currently have a PS Plus subscription.

Edit: It seems I can purchase it on the PS4 store. One year of PS+ for $37 thanks to OzBargain, I guess I can't complain about the game offerings at that price.

    • How'd you get $37? Still shows up at $52 for me

      • +1

Sorry, should've been clearer about that. Got it for that price by combining a few (now expired) deals.

  • My subscription finishes march 26. Can i leave it for few days and renew b4 30th and get discounted price?

    • +2

      I don't see why that wouldn't work.

      • will have to try when expired

  • Do you get to keep the free games upon expiry of your PS Plus subscription?

    • +2

You can only play them while you have an active subscription, so no.

      • +1

I think he mean't do you keep them but cannot access them. People have reported that once you re-activate your PSN+ account you have access to those games again. I just hope they don't get wiped.

        • +6

My PS+ membership lapsed for maybe 4/5 months last year. Couldn't access the games I got off PS+ during that time. I then renewed my PS+ membership and gained access to the games again.

    • Correct, without an active subscription the PlayStation Plus games won't work, but if you rejoin then they are still accessible.

Mine lapsed and I didn't renew for a couple of months; I can still access all previous PlayStation Plus freebies that I had already downloaded.

    • I hope so. I have the whole Crash Bandicoot series on my PS3.

I can't play it at the moment but about to renew.

  • +1

"PS4 Online Multiplayer" - I always thought it's free to play online multiplayer on PS4? Xbox on the the other hand you need to join Xbox Live Gold to play online?

    • +2

      No PS3 was free, PS4 requires PS+

    • +1

Only on ps3 and vita, whereas ps4 brought in the paid subscription model to online multiplayer.

  • For those already with a US PSN account: Can we purchase this on an AU psn account (provided we have never purchased it on the AU account of course) and wait 6 months etc. till the US account expires then activate this one?
Or does this activate immediately rendering this strategy useless?

    • I suspect the latter; the subscriptions only stack when applying to the same account as far as I know

    • Pretty sure you would lose all of your purchases also.

      • It would be the purchases that were free with ps+ (I.e. the free games) but actual games/dlc you've bought wouldn't be lost

  • Won't allow me to purchase on the link. I expired a few weeks ago.

Will try from the 4 when at home later.

    • +2

I signed out, added to cart, signed back in; no problem.

  • -2

Past experience suggest to me better off wait until 20% off on PSN cards then use those credits to buy games when promotion is on eg. Easter, Xmas Sales.

PSN+ is not worth it. Unless you are into multiplayer, plus the games given free monthly are usually indies. No go. BTW PS3 is free multiplayer. Don't think I will ever get a PS4

    • Not sure about the negs I'm speaking the truth here

  • Will this work for US PSN accounts?

    • No but if you activate the PS+ on an AU account then you will be able to play online on your USA PS+ ID, you just won't be able to play the free PS+ games you redeemed on that USA account.

  • Is this EU only or US too?

  • +1

A bit annoyed this is only for lapsed and new subscribers… How many out there (like me) subscribed for a month on March 8th when The Division was released and can't take advantage of this deal.

  • Who's Easton?

  • +2

This was just what I was after. Mine lapsed after I didn't use the PlayStation for a while, but I'm single now so yolo. Thanks OP!

EDIT - Spoke too soon. Internet sign up says that 12 months subscription isn't even available to me; whereas the PS4 still shows up full price. What do, Sony? What do?

    https://imgur.com/a/SSOY8

EDIT AGAIN - Sign in to PSN on Internet first then click OP's link. It works.

  • So I'm a little new to this.
Is this for AU or EU or can we choose?
    Is the price $52.46AUD?

  • +1

Kick in the face for guys like me who buy it every year.

  • I doubt this very much but if there is someone out there who might know or suspect will having a subscription help in network priority?
Specifically with Street Fighter V which doesn't need a subscription to play online.

    • What? since when does sfv don't need subscribtion to play online??

      • Mines expired, have not renewed it and I am playing online matches, can show youtube footage if requested, don't want to mindlessly promote.

  • Damn..Mine just finished last week and it resubbed automatically which I thought I'd turned off..Oh well.

    • +2

e mail them within 14 days you may get refund.

  • +1

I started with AU PS+, signed up for US one when Amazon had deals, that just lapsed and this worked for AU renewal for me. Annoyed that there are some games that I'll miss out on as I was in US Store (main one being Rocket League) but at least I can access the older games I had access to again from AU subscription now.

  • Mine expires early April, is there a way to cancel a subscription?

    • My one too, im going to contact them and see if i can cancel

  • I have AU PSN account, will this work if I am in NZ?
What games do you think will become free in the next 12 month?

    • They pretty much work everywhere, I have US/UK/JP/etc/etc accounts, which all work in AU.

Seems to be a lot of indies-type games lately,
I recall reading somewhere, they may reduce the PS3/Vita games and offer more PS4 (can't find the article right now)

  • I had a trial that expired on the 6th of March, and it won't let me purchase this as it says I have an active account. Oh well!

    • This happened to me as well. I had a trial that expired last week.

Try log in and out of the PS Store on your computer. This did the trick for me.

  • +2

Timely! My 4 year subscription expired today!

  • Was wondering why I didn't receive this email, but then realised I'd never gotten PS+ on my main account, only my US one. Been waiting for a deal for a while (lapsed July/August last year sometime) and this is probably as good as it will get.

  • Can't buy this since it says not available for purchase. I think it's for new users only since it won't let me top over my existing subcription

  • +1

    Thanks just bought one

  • +1

I don't know why they just didn't offer this to everyone. I would've gotten an extra year if they did.

  • I just purchased a PlayStation Plus card from JB-Hi a few days ago but haven't used it yet. Does anyone know if I can get a refund for an unused PlayStation Plus card?

    • If you can't get a refund or sell it,
u can always buy the 20% off one, then activate the card ontop of it, they should stack (check the terms on the card)

    • No you can't refund those cards

  • So only for new customers? It says not available for me. My account has no PSN+ for a few months.

    • +2

Make sure you are signed out, then add item to your cart, it will prompt you to sign back in, but should work now.

      • it doesn't work it says you're not eligible so it's still for new users only

      • ill try that.. thanks mate!

        EDIT: It worked! :D

        • Are you using the website? I log out, and only get the subscribe option, there's no add to cart option

        • @Curiosity:

yes i used the website link provided

        • @ExpressCoffee:

says im not eligible, were you using any specific browser, etc?

        • @Curiosity:

Sign out first, then go to link, add to cart and proceed all the way till you have to purchase it with your CC.

          I'm using Chrome.

        • @ExpressCoffee:

Yea I signed out, but when i get to the page, it says "subscribe" rather then add to cart,
after i login, it says not eligible after a few secs.

tried it on FF and Chrome .. not sure if im doing something wrong, or they've changed it

        • @Curiosity:

Strange.. sorry I can't help you anymore man.

I tried it at night and it didn't work. The next day it worked..

      • Cheers…this worked for me also

  • It's not letting my purchase. I'm currently on my 14 day trial period. Any tips?

    • +1

Will your 14 day trial finish before 31st March?

The offer goes until then so you might make it :)

  • Can I pay for this using PlayStation Store credit vouchers available at Coles?

    • You sure can.

  • +1

I keep getting "Your transaction cannot be processed" no matter if I use my credit card or Paypal. Tried several times and nothing. Anyone else experiencing this? Lapsed subscriber wanting to subscribe again.

    • +2

having same problem, have never had a subscription before…

  • +1

I've been trying to purchase this and I'm getting the same problem. I've tried with a Credit Card and with PayPal as the funding method. Both aren't letting me purchase.

Has this deal expired? It's pretty frustrating.

  • +1

Can confirm happening to me now. Trying to contact customer support.

    • Me too. I've sent a message on Twitter & Facebook but I can't find a phone number or email address/contact form. Do you have a link to one of those contact methods?

      Cheers

  • Edit - sorry answered my own question

  • +3

Can confirm that this works even if you previously had a subscription.

This showed up as 'unavailable' when logged into PS network.
However, if you log out and click the Playstation link to this deal, you are able to select it.
You are then asked to login, and from here you can confirm the purchase, which then processes it for the discounted price.

    Happy Easter!

    • doesn't work for me, what browser are u using? or doing anything special?

  • Works again

    • Did you do it on Computer or PS4/ps3/vita?

  • still not working for me :(

  • +1

My PS+ expired today but I couldn't renew at the reduced price from the web store. The logging off trick that 'blaast' said was no longer working, as I was getting an error when I go to confirm purchase. However I then accessed the PSN store from my PS4. The discounted price was available to select and payment went through first try.

  • Hey guys,

Gave this a positive rating as many have had success with it and it is a great find!!

Unfortunately, I am like a few on here that keep getting an error message. I was not going to post, but have had a pretty bad experience with their customer service team.

I have emailed them about the error, with screenshots, I tried logging in from the PS4, from my phone, from a pc- still no luck. So over the past week I have been trying to resolve it with customer service, each time they take about 12 hours + to reply, and each time making jump through a number of hoops. To put this into perspective, I have tried 4 cards from 3 different financial services, and they asked me to call my bank… When clearly it is not the bank at fault - I have purchased DLC's online before.

This morning I checked my account and they had tested my account with a 19c withdrawal. They also asked me to describe a lengthy process answering a number of questions, which I found out in their most recent email, they can see all of this (number of attempts, payment method etc) on their backend. In their most recent email they also asked me to wait 48hours before my next attempt, conveniently this now places me out of the 25% offer … Fantastic…

I'm disappointed to say the least.

I'll be calling today, and looking to escalate it.

    • +1

      Yup me too!!!

I rang and they said its because I was using my wifes card and the names dont match on account. I tried 2 of my cards and they dont work either…

Somethings up with it! So annoying I finally want to buy it and cannot…

      GRRR!

    • +1

Ok you can buy gift cards from EB or JB and it will then work…
A pain in the ass, But I got it just in time!

Theres something up with there payment system, The guy on phone just said will esculate to Head office as he doesnt know why its happening..

      • Yep, this worked perfectly!! Buy PSN cards then fund the wallet and buy at the discount!
