      The calf doesn't.

  • Skull it!

  • The other day I bought 500ml at Woolworths for $0.15, expires in 12 days. LOL

    • free > $0.15

      • Only if you pass by and get there before it runs out.

      • +2

actually it should be free < $0.15 (number wise)

        Value wise, you're right

Is this another fad like A2 milk?

    • +2

Its just Fonterra expanding their presence in Australia. They already have Bega (cheese), Western Star (butter), Ski (Yoghurt) etc. Now they are pushing into the Milk market.

    • @KaptnKaos I wouldn't consider A2 milk to be a "fad" it has 9 percent market share and has been around since 2003.

      • Most fads make lots of money for their originators.
Until recently, this company wasn't targeting general population. (My guess it has to do with devaluation of regular milk prices. Consumers generally equate quality with price and, by corollary, low quality with cheap and seek more expensive alternative.))

      A2 milk isn't a fad

      • +6

There are no controlled peer-reviewed trials showing differentiation in subjects' reaction to A1-deprived milk versus A1+A2 milk. Not even from company marketing it.
As placebo heals some, some people are attributing positive response to this product.
Anecdotes aren't scientific. Until shown otherwise, A1-deprived milk is a fad at best and a rort at worst.
"Believe in better" is very apt, though.

          Don't care about others' results.

I just know it doesn't bloat me like normal milk does.

        • Fad definition from the Oxford Dictionary "An intense and widely shared enthusiasm for something, especially one that is short-lived; a craze."
Its been around too long to be a fad.

Your Quote "Anecdotes aren't scientific" Well neither is your opinion.

Your Quote "Until shown otherwise, A1-deprived milk is a fad at best and a rort at worst." doesn't mean all the thousands of people who have Lactose intolerance and say they are able to drink A2 milk without any problems are wrong.

Your Quote "There are no controlled peer-reviewed trials" ……………

          @ONSALE:

Your Quote "Anecdotes aren't scientific" Well neither is your opinion.

What opinion did I express - that a "controlled peer-reviewed trials showing differentiation in subjects' reaction" is required?

people who have Lactose intolerance and say they are able to drink A2 milk without any problems are wrong

Lactose is milk sugar not protein. People say many things.

The only study worth noting (ie. not biased or tested on animals) notes "These preliminary results suggest … but require confirmation in a larger study of participants with perceived intolerance to ordinary A1 beta-casein-containing milk" in other words - no general conclusion.

However, a more general conclusion can easily be made - since humans aren't cows, avoid consuming products made by cows for cows.

        • @AlexF: People with assumed lactose intolerance are able to tolerate A2 milk with research suggesting that intolerance is due to the type of milk protein present in the milk given that A2 milk contains lactose.

The Food Standards Agency recognise 4 milk sensitive conditions and 2 of these conditions have very similar side effects: lactose intolerance and milk intolerance. They can both cause bloating, constipation, gas and pain in the lower abdomen.

Diagnosing lactose intolerance is difficult. The symptoms can be similar to other conditions.
If milk makes you feel bloated or leaves you feeling unwell, it might not be the lactose, but rather an intolerance to one of the proteins found in cows’ milk called A1.
Lactose intolerance is actually quite rare and can even be a temporary condition after a stomach upset if the lining of the stomach is disturbed.
Many people who think they are lactose intolerant may actually just be A1 intolerant.

  • This milk tastes pretty bad. Reminds me of the milk I had in Taiwan when living there. But yet I still grabbed another freebie as I passed through.

  • No wonder I saw a random milk bottle on the streets…

  • May be next free milk @ southern cross station on 29 March…just predicting

    • Well look it's New a.k.a Nostrozbargadamanus!

    • Why 29 March?
