  • Haven't tried this brand, but if they're good then that's a ripper price :)

    • I've got them, they're probably OK for a cold day most parts of Australia, but don't expect to wear them anywhere really cold, they're not a patch on a decent set of wool thermals.

  • They're OK but for $10 it's a pretty good deal.

  • is this the in-store price also?

    • +3

Probably not. I've tried in the past to get them to price match sales prices I've seen on their own online sales and they wouldn't

    • it will be if you go to the outlet stores

  • +1

No complaints from me, I've worn them as a base layer in Europe at Christmas time. Coupled with jackets and other layers they're great!

  • Any idea about fit? I know what size I am normally, but the sizing suggests 'universal' but only gives men/women sizes, not universal!

    • Also wondering.

    • Go one bigger.

I bought my normal size (based on the sizing dimensions) and found them too tight.
Based on the sizing chart I got an 'S' (Men's chest 96cm) but will by 'M' from now on.

      • They're meant to be tight.

        • Yeah, this was too tight.

I purposely went for the correct chest and waist measurements so it would be fitted, but this was permanent wedgie tight, not the 'fits perfect' tight.

You can try them on in store thought, so if you have a store handy, maybe pop in and work out the best fit.

        • @dbun1:
Doest fix that there are two sets of sizes.

  • Thanks. Bought 2 sets.

This. I only wear Merino base layers now - no smell!

Merino or nothing for me… you can wear Merino ones for 3 or more days before they stink - these ones stink after half a day.

    • +6

But merino is so expensive and I'm cheap, that's why I'm on ozbargain :P.

      • +1

ebay has merino thermals for about $30 for a top and $30 for a bottom - I have 2 sets and love them and they are better bargain because if you go travelling you don't need to take as many clothes… because Merino - and thus your luggage is smaller letting you go carry on only reducing your travel costs. One last savings is that you don't need to wash them as often.

        • Can you wash the merino (wool) ones in a basic cotton wash with all the other clothes?

        • @albanyson: I wash mine in with everything else all the time. Never damaged anything yet!

    • +2

Cheap, synthetic thermals I've tried have been itchy and uncomfortable for me too, and they don't breath well like wool does.

Still, for ten bucks you can't complain too loudly; but I think some extra money spent on quality wool thermal gear is well worth it.

Where do you go for merino?

  • +1

What is the minimum to get free shipping?

    • $100

      • Tx. Not near a store.
        $100 is too much.

    • you can order online and collect in store for free :-)

      • but i can't see any c&c option?

  • I've gotten these previously. Works well in winter, though a bit cold in Winter (<10C) when worn with a shirt and some casual business pants. When they're paired with a jacket, you'll feel like a god.

They do conjure a fair bit of static over time and they itch a little when you start wearing them. I've worn them over a really thin singlet and that works like a charm.

If you're getting them in-store, they come in a little cardboard box and there's normally a whole shelf dedicated to these in assorted sizes and colours.

    • Dont work on any delicate electronics wearing these!

  • +1

they're great just dont be lazy like me and put it in the dryer. had 6 pairs melted :(

  • Great as PJs during Winter. Will grab a few. thanks :)

You really shouldn't be wearing firm fitting sleep wear. Men and women need space for skin to breathe during the night.

      • Good point. I've only bought the tops, but they're one size too big, so there's plenty of give in them :)

Thanks OP for the post. I bought one short-sleeved thermal years ago (just checked, it is polypropylene), I think from Kathmandu, and it has been serving me well (and I've been to couple colder countries than Aus), still have it. Wanted to come across a good deal to add a few more termals.
BTW, don't forget to go via CashRewards to pick up additional 4.8% (surprisingly for me, this CR thing has been working quite well so far, at least in terms of showing pending cashbacks). Just spent ~$50, so should be getting $2+ back. For the price, I think they are very good, but I always wore a thin singlet/tshirt (like fossilfuel) as a base, works great, plus mitigates stinkiness issue (i.e. can wear for a few times before wash :) )

  • thanks

  • Great price!

Personally I recommend thermaplus or ultra core though.. due to the stinkiness issue…
Thermaplus seems warmer than ultra core.. but UC is good for active times

  • +1

Confirmed price is available instore. Innaloo WA.

  • Wil get some, see how they go.

  • thanks OP, can always use extras, and at $10, can't go wrong…

  • how can you do C&C? is it possible? i can't see such an option

    • +1

you get it when checking out..

  • anyone know the return policy on these ?

    • and before some d*ck posts a LMGTFY, yes I already looked at their policy (http://www.kathmandu.com.au/help-centre/returns-exchanges) and not sure whether they consider this as a base-layer item specified in their terms:

You cannot exchange or return selected base-layer items such as underwear, for hygiene reasons, or goods sold as ‘seconds’.

  • Thanks OP ordered some…

    • And kathmandu giftcards 10% off in Woolies…have fun

  • The deal has finished :(

  • Got mine delivered to the local store just in time for the easter camping trip, but not soon enough for a repeat purchase at the bargain price. They seem very comfy and warm so far. Bought. Leggings, short sleeve top and singlet top. Nice and long that's for sure
Good tips above about wearing a singlet under and not using the dryer.
