Has anyone tried these and can comment on quality? Thanks

  • +1

    Nice. Thank you :)

  • Stock up on the SIM cards people!

    • Amaysim starter pack isnt bad value

      • +3

Considering that you'd have to buy a $2 SIM every time you wanted to use a new starter kit, it'd make more sense to jump from a $30/$40 pack directly to another $30/$40 pack from month to month.

By that, I mean both of the discounted starter kits are worth looking at :)

        • jumping one to another …

        • just bear in mind that the levels of service and reliability vary from carrier to carrier and areas where you live/work. A vodafone SIM for example is no good if the service in your area is lousy (if you live out in the sticks etc).

        • @BargainKen: expiry of the offers that are being offered with sims is that forever

    • How long before it expires?

      • +4

Vodafone and Amaysim starter packs do not have an expiry date.

        • Thanks, it's good to know.

        • @slackme:

          No worries.

  • If you intend on changing numbers all the time..

    • +12

No, it's called porting. Grab 6 discount packs from one provider, 7 from another, and you've got yourself a year-long 4G service for $130 per year, or $10.84 per month. You can't beat that.

      • +1

        Why 13?

        • +6

Vodafone and Amaysim prepaid plans have a maximum validity of 28 days.

          365 ÷ 28 = 13.05

      • +1

Well…… Dicksmith had the $40 voda kits for $2, Woolies were doing the Telstra kits for $1 (which technically should get you through 2 months easily and or walk away with a profit, but we don't talk about that as it will stuff things up for others), Coles and Kmart often do Optus/ Voda sims for $5 or less….and you can grab Coles Mobile sims for free from Coles Express ATM's…so I believe I did beat that!! :)

        • well as you say they HAD and then kmart DOES … is a long way to what is being offered now.

      • How much do you value your time to deal with changing every month?

        • +10

Considering one hour 13 times a year, that's 13 hours.

          13 starter packs at $10 ea = $130.

Equivalent value = at least $30/pack.

          $30 × 13 = $390.

          $390 - $130 = $260 saving per year

          $260 ÷ 13 hours of doing nothing = $20/hour.

          In other words, value detected.

Sorry, I'm new to all this porting stuff. Could one port from Amaysim to Amaysim using these starter packs? Or would it be necessary to port out then port back in each time?

        • love to know too…00

        • @a1234my:
On second thought, this is a pretty silly question. Yeah you need to port out, the Vodafone starter kits also on sale should do the trick.

        • +3

You must port out of Amaysim to another provider, then back to Amaysim again. 'Porting' within the same provider is not possible with Amaysim.

  • Are these deals online or In Store

    Coles Elco Dodoni Feta 1kg $14.50 ($14.5, 50%)

    This isn't 50% off, it's always around $19 at my local deli…

    Woolworths Twinings Tea Bags 10pk $1.24 ($1.25, 50%)

    Aren't these normally $1 when they're 50% off ???

    • +2

Depends what you mean by 'normally'. They were $1.24 last week at Coles and that was a 50% off sale.

      • -3

Depends what you mean by 'normally'.

Normally means I often buy these when they are 50% off and they've pretty much always been $1…

What you have posted is a 24% price increase to the sale price of this item.

        • +7

I don't calculate % savings based on current sale price compared to what you normally purchase it for. % savings is calculated based on savings compared to retail price.

You must have stretched your 10 pack of tea bags out for some time. They were $2.50 retail back in February too.

        • @TrolleySaver:

On a different note, 80-100packs are frequently $5-5.50 which is better value when it does occur…..

        • They went up at start this year.

        • -1

          @Slippery Fish:

24% price increase is about 10 times more than CPI…

Claiming they are now 50% off is misleading…

        • the 10packs come in their own sealed satchels, so they don't lose flavour as quick

        • @Baghern:

          but cost twice the price…

        • @jv: thats scale of economy for ya, they gota seal em all box just 10 sell then ship. Ofc that costs more than 100 unsealed. I do get your point though, its like when tuna went up from $1 everyday Nd now it sells half price lol.

        • @jv:

I've bought the 100 before, don't finish them in time. So easier to buy heaps of the 10 packs when they're discounted.. when they're not twice the price

        • @Baghern:

          don't finish them in time.

          in time for what ???

  • What's the Alcatel handset like. Feel like ditching the smart phone for a while and look outside the 5.5 HD led screen.

  • Vodafone 30 stater kit does not provide unlimited calls. Two days ago when I tried it gave 300 credit with 1.5 GB data only.

Heads up, purchase President Double Brie or Camembert 200g! It's a popular French cheese brand and it taste really good!

    • Ok I bought it today and read the label…made in Australia. WTF? Haven't tried it yet but hope it taste the same as the one in France
