JB Hi-Fi - Sony Touch E-Reader (Ex Display) $10 Delivered

340

Sony Wi-Fi Touch Reader - White (Ex-Display). Limit one per customer. Claims to be plenty in stock. $10 delivered. That's cheaper than some magazines….. It's ex-display so may have some marks etc, but hey - did I mention $10 including delivery? I actually got it for $9.40 as I had a discounted gift card…..

Note that this does not have a backlit screen (love my paperwhite) but then again, most books don't have lights built into them… ;-)

OMG - that went quick! Honestly - when I bought mine it said there was stacks of stock! Ah well. Sorry guys…. :-(

    • 100% stock?
      What does that even mean?

      • My assumption was that is based on how much stock was in the warehouse when the listing was created by JBs. For example if there were 100 eReaders to begin with (which is likely based on the number of stores), then when the first one was bought it would drop to 99% stock. If there were 10 eReaders to begin with, then it would drop to 90% after one has been bought which - if the stock indicator is realtime - did not appear to be the case.

I listed this just after I bought one (I did check to see if was still in stock after I bought it), so there was definitely more than one for sale. and at that time the arrow was still pointing to the far right as per the screenshot….. It did take me maybe 5 minutes to list the bargain so it appears that over 100 or so may have been sold in just a few minutes!

        • Yeah, maybe…. but maybe there was only 1, and the pointer only updates once an hour…..

        • 2200 people have jumped on this already. That explains why there is no stock

  • That went quick. Can not add to cart.

    • First rule of ozbargain club - don't think. ;-)

To my eternal shame I hesitated on https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/153771 and missed out.

    • Dude, what was there to think about?

      • I don't read books anymore lol

have 100's of paperbacks that I haven't read and had to donate

    • I clicked on it instantly and wouldn't load either

  • Damn just seen this I needed an ereader

  • what is this 10 min jb deals?
Ozbargain - Catch of the day style

    • I know! I wouldn't have bothered listing it if it hadn't shown as having a lot of stock….. I figured there are 131 stores so there was probably going to be maybe 100 or more available…. sigh….

FTR I was able to order one.

        • Good to hear I wasn't the only one! And FYI mine arrived today. Very quick delivery. It came with the original box and cable etc. Battery was totally dead, but otherwise the screen was unmarked and looks brand new. Once it had a bit of charge I checked and updated the firmware. Is now continuing to charge….. hopefully it hasn't been plugged into a charger for a couple of years and will keep a charge - at the moment it looks promising though.

Yeah, what is going on? Heaps of products appear to be listing just to have their page taken off almost immediately or not being able to add to cart. Are these JB Hi-Fi listings a waste of time? I've had this happen on three different items in the last 45 mins.

  • It was probably 1 unit in stock at the time and so it claimed in stock. OP probably bought the only one that there was. Good luck for him/her.

    • I was able to order one, so at least two.

  • I'm shocked there were any of these in stock I swear they were all sold off nearly 2 years ago. I love mine to pieces and would have brought another in a heart beat such a pity Sony got out of the market

  • Noo missed a deal again

    • Don't feel too bad, it was only around for a few minutes. It was gone when I saw it at just 7 minutes after the deal was posted.

What surprises me is how these deals get upvoted a long time after expiry.

7 upvotes when it had expired (and updated here), refreshed page after a few hours away and found 23 votes.

Thanks to the OP for originally posting, but upvoting deal after it's death ?

    • +1 from me, and I'm the OP. It's up to 27 now. :-0

I think that maybe voting for/against a deal should probably stop after it's been expired……
