Uniden G1720 Guardian Digital Wireless Surveillance System----$179 Delivered @ JB Hi-Fi

160

Come to this deal from JB online when I was doing shopping for a wireless surveillance system or IP cameras.

It comes with

•Guardian 7" inch LCD display
•2 x outdoor cameras included
•Night Vision

It does have its own app to run on mobile phones to view live cameras.

To me it does seems to be a very good value and any reviews are much appreciated.

No pick ups,but it worked out to be free delivery for me. ( Metro melbourne)

  • Additional cameras, up to 4 total, are also on sale for $19

Be warned though, these are pretty low resolution and interfere with 802.11bgn wifi signals. A good price for a 4 camera system in the right scenario though.

moving on after "interfere with WIFI signals"

  • And gone!

  • Thanks, got one after it was marked as expired…

    • This "deal" initially was a add on camera. Someone changed it to the kit.

  • Ordered this earlier today with additional before it was on ozbargain. My cocoon (Aldi) security system died so this will replace it. Good thing I hadn't properly wired the system in so will be taking it back for a refund.

Did a bit of research on this. Main negative I could find was that the picture can be grainy depending on lighting conditions but at this price I'm not too fussed. I shouldn't have any wifi interference either as I run on 5ghz. Will see how it goes…

  • Great price but the image quality is pretty poor. Also the range is fairly limited.

  • Do we really need to have security cameras that are connected to everyone on the internet?

  • Are these truly wireless like the arlo security systems? Or do they require some AC

    • each camera has its own adapter but stays continuously recording where the arlo will only record when it detects movement

      • Arlo can record continuously as well if required.

      • Also you need to have a power point close by as the dc power cables and plugs are an unusual size and hard to get (the voltage from the plug pack from experience tends to have a max distance of 10 metres).

        • I think I will cancel my order… jumped the gun here :(
Can't really think of a great way to wire up the cameras from the front door

    • +1

For a minute there I thought you were joking — but the Arlo ones are truly wireless (battery powered cameras) — although it seems you have to buy fresh batteries for each camera every four months. Also, I'd be worried about someone stealing my wireless camera :D
