It Looks like Dick stopped paying the cleaners. When I zoomed in to try and see which store I can see a dead bug at the bottom of the picture :)

• They are also selling their rack now.

• it's a DS True-Flies™ certified.

1.0A output. Useless

• Yeah I would definitely get an Xiaomi 5000mAh charger for $20 with twice the capacity and double the charging speed over this one.

• 2850mAH + 1A output? Seems Xiaomi is still the winner for me.

I've given up on Dick Smith Noosaville…
A couple of kids in there who know bugger all about the stock they have left, and are packing the - "my job is cactus, so I couldn't give a flying XXXX about your questions - attitude.
Example: I rang the other day about the Harmony Smart Remote listed here.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/239650
The kid says, yeah we've got three left.
I say, I live half an hours drive away, can you put one away for me, I'm leaving now?
He says, no mate, we can't do that, good luck.
I say, are you sure you've got three left?
He says, Yeah mate. Three.

So I drive in to Noosaville… When I get there an ask about the remotes, the other kid goes, all our remotes are over there, and keeps doing what he's doing… When I couldn't find the one they said they had three of I go back to the counter and ask where the Smart remotes were… One kid gives me a dumb look and says, There were three on the computer, but I don't know where they are. And the dude that I spoke to on the phone gets lippy and says (and I kid you not) "You asked for an E Harmony Remote…" WTF?! Knowing that I had just driven 25kms on the strength of the information he had given to me, the little prick doesn't even offer an apology for his mistake, just goes on serving the next customer, still arguing that I hadn't asked for the Harmony Smart Remote. At this stage I was pretty filthy, so I stood there and informed him that E Harmony, as far as I knew, was a dating website, and walked out.

Good luck to anyone managing to pick a few bargains up from the DSE carcass, but I'm done with them.

Don't get angry at the "kid". They haven't even started adulthood yet. They have a whole world of pain awaiting them!

• I just hope for his sake, he never needs this.

• +1

These days it's unusual for a single kid to NOT be on tinder. Very different to the world we grew up in.

• So where were the 3 E Harmony Remotes he reckons they had then?

• +1

Hahaha… Yeah. I knew I wasn't going to get anywhere with it, and the longer I stayed in the shop, the crankier I was getting. Same thing happened with a Nikon Camera deal. Told me they had 3 (that number again!) so went in there and got told they only had one (display model and missing a lens out of the kit) even though three were showing up on their stock inventory. A total clusterf—k.

Though the look on the smart-arse kids face when I told him, in front of the same ten people witnessing him giving me crap only seconds earlier, about the E harmony being a dating website and not a remote control was almost worth the drive.
Almost.

I upvote this for the little chuckle I had reading the comment

• Nearly got some Bose equipment at 70% off at the Sydney George St store… Store manager came running up to the register yelling 'don't sell any Bose stock!'

A few disappointed people in the line :(

that's because that stock was reserved for staff

• I wonder if this includes those funky light changing LED bulbs. Been wanting one for the front of my house.

• I was at DS Chaddy this morning, they were selling their store security barrier/alarms too, at $600 for the 3 units guarding the entrance.
The staff were busy having a discussion looking at some footy fixture on their POS computer.
On a different note, saw a Shark rotator vacuum on sale there, thought I would call the customer service number on the manual first to ask about service center locations and was told that the manufacturer's warranty WILL NOT be honored by them as I'm buying the product from DS! I was told that I can only deal with DS for all future warranty claims (5 Years warranty). Can they really do that ?

• They will close all stores but online store.

• The online store will be taken over by Kogan, it will be Dick Smith by name only. New ABN. New ACN. They will have no obligation to customer purchases prior to them taking over.

• Walter Rd Morley WA store had half a dozen of the power banks left this morning going for $8.25 if anyone interested.

• Thanks OP. Grabbed one of these for $8.50 and also an "Eneloop family pack" for $15

• DSE Launceston had a box full about midday today, $8.25 each. Reckon there must have been 25 or 30 in there.
