That's like down-voting a TV deal because pretty much all TV shows are junk.

Any way to add a one week stop over in singapore?

    • -5

One week in Singapore? Are you sure?

      • +1

why not? friends, I've got a trading business there, maybe the missus wants to visit her family, foodie tour, etc.

        • +3

Yeah Singapore is great- people don't like it because it's expensive

        • @GameChanger: great if you know what you can/cannot buy there. gone are the days where electronics/computer parts are cheaper in singapore; looking at the price of a fujifilm x100t, the prices in singapore is crazy, again, cheaper to buy in Oz and claim the GST. luxury products have also shot thru the roof. again cheaper buying luxury products here in Oz and claim the GST on the way out.

        • @GameChanger:
for luxury stuff ppl do their research now anyway before they leave. my friend went to europe but bought all her chanel and lv here n claimed gst. cheaper than france with the new price restructure.

electronics have never been cheaper in asia.

sg $ is strong i only got 96cents for aud $1.

but its still cheap. 2 plates of chicken, 2 x lemon iced tea and 2 x ice kacang $9.80 chicken rice only $2.50!! tiong bahru markets

but my fav foodie place and my home will always be malaysia. cheaper and best food.

        • @sal78: at the end of the day, its about working out what gives your money the best bang for buck.

you wouldnt go to singapore for a major alcohol piss up, nor would you go shopping for a brand new camera, or even a brand new LV.

what i have noticed along the years is that the prices of general cost of living is creeping at an alarming rate. naturally these days, ill drive across the causeway to JB for a fit of shopping, massage, food hopping and dont forget filling up the petrol tank just before returning to singapore.

i should find some time to go and do a malaysian food road trip. start in JB, and end up in penang before coming down again.

          @t25:

When you get to Penang, make sure you goto Kebaya in George Town.

        • +1

@Coops1: definitely will add that to my list of things to do. for me, all i do when i get to penang is eat; eat; eat and eat some more.

      • are u kidding me? there are more things to do in sg than hk. especially with kids. food is also better.

i was just there a few weeks ago and we took a ferry to batam nongsa to stay at Montigo resorts. It's the best kept secret. Luxury 6 stars for a bargain. Private 3 story 2 br villa with pool, treehouse and rooftop overlooking ocean. Had dinner at Wolfgang Pucks Spago restaurant whilst he was in Sg and got to meet him. Fab trip.

        • aye, how much?

        • food is probably cheaper than hk too

  • How does the flight from Canberra work? Flight to Sydney or to Singapore?

    • +4

Singapore Air is flying direct out of Canberra from September. They'll have a couple of flights SIN to CBR and CBR to Wellington every week.

      • +4

Thanks that's a really good deal then. Flights out of Canberra are usually incredible expensive.

  • No deal in July

  • How do you get the month view? was looking at other destinations but can only see day selected prices.

    • When you are doing a search, click on the date boxes and a calendar appears. At the bottom of the calendar is a button labelled 'Price Chart'. Click this for the depart and return dates instead of selecting a date.
