  • I have had the equivalent 32" model for approx 6 months and I think they are an excellent TV for the price. Especially considering mine was listed at $799 but got it for $549 on special.

    • Wow the 32" model is now listed at $499. Pretty tempted.

  • Waiting for the usual LCD Vs. Plasma debate to start :-)

    • +1

i.e. the plasma tv owners vs the rest of the world.

  • Anyone got one of these? Any comments on the quality?

  • got my mums cotd the 32 inch 100hz lcd and i must say it compares to my samsung pretty well although my samsung is a 550 so its not 100hz. that was for roughly 500 for hers so these 100hz lcds are getting better and cheaper

  • Arrrgh…Dilemma!

Do I buy this now or wait to get my tax back and buy something else then?!??!

    • wait. there are always specials :D

my dad payed 800$ for 32 inch in jan.. so deals always come

  • Heard these are good for HD viewing but when you play standard def you can see jagged edges ect.

As good brands are going pretty cheap these days I'd say buy a Panny or Samsung.

  • I've had the Vivo Plasma from DSE for about 6 months and haven't had a problem with it (just some minor issues as listed here - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/22814)

  • anyone know which country produced Vivo LCD? China?
    how long is the warranty?

Picked one of these up tonight.
1 year warranty, also don't forget DSE does a 14 day refund if you're not happy.
So far, the built in HDTV tuner and internal scaling is rubbish; lots if noise in the image, and the mpeg compression looks TERRIBLE. Also, for scaled images, it's very very soft, and seems to struggle with movement.
Also the built in speakers/sound is crap and ungodly.

That aside, hooked up to the PC via HDMI, nice and sharp, threw some 1080p fast moving stuff, looked great, again sharp and didnt seem to have problems with the fast movement.
I'm guessing if you use a good HDTV box that upscales to 1080p and use that instead (or a HTPC) for tv, you'll get around my complaints of the hdtv tuner/scaler. I'll be exclusively using it with PC to a replace an older 32" 1366x768 display. So far so good for that, but yet to truly run it through its paces.

Ended up purchasing one today. Talked to the guy at the counter. Ended up extending the warranty to 3 years and he threw in a HD set top box for $80. So all up $779. Pretty happy.

  • how do I get the Free Delivery?
i tried ordering from the website but the delivery is 60 bucks

  • talked to the store salesman today but didn't get the free extensive warranty. They charge it for $79 extra, will check other store another day. and it's 50/60hz version.

  • Just bought one today at Rockdale DSE for $698 + $100 for 4 year extended warranty (total 5 year warranty). The Digital Tuner and the menus are way faster than my other 46" Samsung Series 5 LCD TV and the picture quality is very similar too. Lets hope that the TV lasts!
